Welcome to Wowhead's
Recipe Overview! Here you'll find the new Dragonflight
recipes - all updated with the latest information!
New in Dragonflight Patch 10.2
While Patch 10.2 is not bringing many new additions to Professions, they are seeing some small, general updates to bring them into Season 3.
For
, this means a new epic Helm, as well as updating PvP gear for Season 3.
Dragonflight Patch 10.1 Additions
Dragonflight patch 10.1 brought with it a whole host of new recipes for every profession, including
.
We've added these new recipes to the list below. Some recipes may have additionally had their sources changed with the release of
and Dragonflight Season Two. These recipes will have their respective Source boxes updated with the current information.
Blacksmithing Recipe Sources in Dragonflight
As with every Profession,
features many new recipes in Dragonflight. While the Profession system has seen a large revamp, what hasn't changed is the acquisition of new
recipes!
In Dragonflight, there are seven main sources for new
recipes:
Trainers:
Trainers will sell new recipes for Gold as your
skill increases.
PvP:
Victories in Arenas, Battlegrounds, and Warmode have a chance to drop PvP related recipes.
Renown:
Gaining Renown with a specific Faction can unlock new recipes through that Faction's Quartermaster. The relevant factions for
are:
Specializations:
By learning specific Specializations and Sub-Specializations, Blacksmiths can unlock new recipes.
Drops:
Some recipes have a chance of being dropped off specific creatures or bosses. Some of these can even be bought and sold on the Auction House!
Vendors:
While not many recipes are learned this way, on occasion, Blacksmiths can find a vendor willing to sell them something new.
Quests:
A classic way to approach learning new recipes, Blacksmiths may have to complete certain quests to learn everything there is to know about their Profession.
Dragonflight Blacksmithing Recipes
Most
recipes are learned through
Trainers. However, as in previous expansions, some recipes are also locked behind Renown (formerly Reputation), as well as Specializations. With the restructuring of Profession spellbooks, each category of recipes is now more streamlined for efficient searching and organization.
With some Specialization recipes (such as
), merely learning the sub-specialization is enough to earn the Pattern. No Knowledge Point investment is necessary in those instances.
Each recipe is color-coded based on the patch it was released in. Recipes without a color were released in
patch 10.0
, recipes in
blue
were released in
patch 10.0.7
, recipes in
brown
were released in
patch 10.1
, and recipes in
green
were released in
patch 10.2
.
Smelting
Experienced Blacksmiths will remember the time spent smelting bar after bar in the past - we call them alloys now, but that memory will become reality soon once more!

Final
Stupid question, but what´s the max skill you can actually get to, not including ingredient quality?
Let´s say I want to make a mace.
100 blacksmithing skill, that´s straightforward.
+22 from gear
+30 from Weaponsmithing
+30 from Hafted
+30 from Maces&Hammers
+20 from the bonuses in Maces&Hammers at 5/15/20 points
+30 from Hammer Control
+10 from the bonuses in Hammer Control, at 5/15/25 points
=272 Skill when making maces before ingredient quality bonuses. This is also what I´m seeing ingame on the crafting tab.
And from there on? Is that it? 272 skill + tier 3 ingredients + illustrious insight got me a 100% chance on a 5-star craft with embellishment, missive and primal infusion, great great, but that only covers 2 relevant weapon types out of... quite a few more. So will I need to basically max out all specializations in the long run before leaving Weaponsmithing? Or is there a skill contributor that I´m not seeing?

I don't understand how to figure out which specializations give skill points to which crafts. Like the profession tools. Some of them are obvious like hammers but some I have no idea what to put points into in order to get +skill to the recipe. Like blacksmith's toolbox or leatherworker's toolset. Where do I put points in order to add skill to these crafts? They all seem to be getting skill from different nodes and I have no idea what those nodes are.
