This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the Lady Ashvane encounter in Normal Difficulty in Azshara's Eternal Palace. Changes to the fight for the other difficulties are listed below in their respective sections, including tips and strategies for dealing with the new mechanics introduced in these difficulties.
Lady Ashvane is a two phase encounter in which the raid must break through her
硬化甲壳
in phase one as to allow them to deal heavy boss damage during phase two as her carapace regenerates. Excellent coordination is needed to defeat this boss, as several mechanics require teamwork and communication to deal with correctly.
Lady Ashvane is the fourth boss of Azshara's Eternal Palace. After defeating Lady Ashvane, players may proceed to the
Orgozoa
encounter.
Mythic Lady Ashvane World Firsts
Loot
Normal Loot starts at Item level 415, Heroic Loot at 430 and Mythic Loot at 445.
Quick Tips
Phase One:
Tank the boss at the edge of the encounter space, away from any
增生珊瑚
s.
Taunt off of one another when your
壶蔓猛击
debuff drops.
Move away from
增生珊瑚
s when they spawn.
Soak the
翻滚涟漪
bubbles in a staggered way before they reach the boss.
Move away from
激涌
zones.
Stack 12 yards away from others with other marked players when marked with
咸水气泡
.
DPS need to destroy the
咸水气泡
s to free their allies.
Break through the bosses

to begin phase two.
Phase Two:
Deal as much damage to the boss as possible during this 1:10 minute window, before the boss reenters phase one.
Paired players should position as many
增生珊瑚
s as possible between themselves to destroy them with
艾泽里特弧光
.
Healers need to counteract the random ticking damage on the raid from the bosses
艾泽里特辐射
passive.
Phase One
硬化甲壳
The boss begins the encounter with a damage absorption shield equal to 40% of her maximum health.
The boss will attempt to regenerate this shield via some of her mechanics throughout phase one. Players must prevent this regeneration at all costs.
Once this shield is broken, phase two will begin.

Throughout the phase, the boss will mark two randomly selected patches of the room. Moments later, a
增生珊瑚
will spawn at this location.
Anyone within the 10 yard spawn location around the Coral will take a burst of damage and be knocked back, so players should move away from them.
These
增生珊瑚
s are completely stationary and can only be removed during phase two.
Players should avoid standing near the
增生珊瑚
s, as they are surrounded by a small patch of
锋利的珊瑚
, which deals ticking damage to anyone who stands within it.
Lady Ashvane will occasionally cast
翻滚涟漪
, causing each
增生珊瑚
to spawn a bubble that travels slowly towards her.
If the bubble reaches her, it will restore up to 10% of her
硬化甲壳
and deal a moderate burst of frost damage to the raid.
If a player comes into contact with a bubble, it will despawn and explode, dealing a moderate burst of frost damage to the raid and applying a stack of
浸水
to the player who soaked it.
浸水
deals frost damage every 3 seconds over 15 seconds, and this can stack. Players should avoid gaining more than 2 or 3 stacks of
浸水
.
The raid must ensure that all
翻滚涟漪
bubbles are soaked before they reach the boss. This should be done in a staggered way as to keep incoming raid damage reasonable.
Tanks should keep Lady Ashvane at least 15-20 yards away from any
增生珊瑚
s, as to ensure that the bubble doesn't immediately reach her upon spawning.
As more and more
增生珊瑚
s keep spawning throughout the phase, the raid will have to soak a larger and larger amount of bubbles each time
翻滚涟漪
is cast.
Healers need to be prepared to counter this incoming damage with effective use of their cooldowns, ideally by having a single large cooldown each time
翻滚涟漪
is cast.
This mechanic acts as a pseudo-enrage for phase one, as eventually there will be more bubbles than your healers can counter.
Soak the bubbles before they reach the boss.
激涌
The boss will mark the location of several players with a blue swirly circle. Moments later these areas will errupt, dealing heavy frost damage and knocking up any players within 6 yards.
All players need to move away from these locations when the ability is cast. Having the raid loosely spread will increase the chances of having a nearby safe area to move too.
Move out of
激涌
zones!
咸水气泡
Ashvane will mark two random DPS and the current tank with
咸水气泡
.
5 seconds later, these players will be enveloped within a bubble, incapacitating them whilst dealing moderate nature damage every 1.5 seconds.
The only way to free these players is to destroy the bubble. All DPS should swap to the bubbles immediately, prioritising the tanks bubble.
Ideally, players marked with this ability will move into melee before the bubble is applied, as to allow players to cleave damage off of them and onto the boss.
This ability can be negated via immune effects, with Anti-Magic Shell, Cloak of Shadows and Aspect of the Turtle preventing the application of the bubble, and Ice Block/Divine Shield breaking the bubble whilst the player is within it.
Note: This ability is listed to also encase all other players within 12 yards within a bubble. This mechanic was not present on normal mode, but was present in other difficulties. If this is the case on live servers, marked players should stack on top of one another, 12 yards away from any non-marked player. This allows DPS to quickly swap to them and cleave all 3 bubbles down.
Destroy the

s enveloping your allies!

Ashvane occasionally slams the tank with
壶蔓猛击
, dealing a moderate burst of physical damage.
This also applies a debuff which increases damage taken from the ability by 150% for 35 seconds. This can stack.
Tanks want to taunt off of each other when their debuff drops. This is usually after each hit, but occasionally a tank may need to take two hits back to back.
In this situation, the tank wants to have large personal cooldowns to ensure they survive the 150% increased damage they take from the ability.

also leaves behind a large patch of

, which deals ticking damage to anyone who stands within it.
Tanks should position themselves against the sides of the encounter area as to spawn the patches in low traffic areas.
It is also possible to overlap the patches by quickly moving into a previous patch of
锋利的珊瑚
when
壶蔓猛击
is cast.
On normal difficulty, these patches would despawn after around 1 minute.
Place the
锋利的珊瑚
patches at the edge of the room.
Phase Two
Upon damaging through the bosses
硬化甲壳
, the boss will become vulnerable to damage whilst she slowly gains energy over 70 seconds.
The raid should use this time to deal as much damage to the boss as possible before she regains her
硬化甲壳
at 150% of the strength of the previous one.
Throughout this phase, the boss will be dealing small bursts of damage to several randomly selected targets through her
艾泽里特辐射
passive. Healers simply need to keep the raid topped up.
The boss maintains her
壶蔓猛击
,
咸水气泡
and
激涌
abilities during phase two, but will not longer spawn
增生珊瑚
s or cast
翻滚涟漪
.
Her main new ability is
艾泽里特弧光
, which marks up to three pairs of players. These pairs will either be marked with a Blue, Red or Yellow mark.
10 Seconds after being marked, a beam will shoot between each of the pairs, dealing a high burst of damage to anyone in its path whilst also destroying any
增生珊瑚
s.
Pairs need to position themselves so that they clear as many
增生珊瑚
s as they can, whilst all other players move out of the path the incoming beam will take.
This ability will be cast twice per phase two. The raid should aim to clear all
增生珊瑚
s with these casts as to minimise the amount of
翻滚涟漪
bubbles they'll need to soak next phase one.
Destroy
增生珊瑚
s by positioning them betweenyou and your
艾泽里特弧光
partner!
After the boss has gained 100 energy and has regrown her
硬化甲壳
at 150% of the strength of the previous one, the fight will repeat until the boss is defeated.
Do note that the Carapace shield will always be the amount, regardless of how much health the boss has lost during phase two, as it is determined by % maximum health, not % current health.
The raid should aim to defeat the boss before the fourth phase one, as the bosses shield will be incredibly large which increases the time it will take the raid to leave the phase, potentially causing the raid to become overwhelmed with
翻滚涟漪
bubbles.
Heroic Difficulty
增生珊瑚
s
Instead of two
增生珊瑚
s spawning each time, three will appear.
This forces the raid to soak more
翻滚涟漪
bubbles than they would on normal difficulty.
Tanks are also likely to have to move the boss away from nearby spawning
增生珊瑚
s more often due to the increased amount that spawn randomly each time.
Also, with an increased number of growths, players will need to be extra efficient at clearing them with the
艾泽里特弧光
during phase two.

咸水气泡
will envelop all players within 12 yards of the marked target.
Marked targets should stack up on a single point 12 yards away from anyone else. DPS then need to hard swap to these bubbles to free them as soon as possible.
Move away from others when marked with
咸水气泡
.

spawned via the
壶蔓猛击
does not despawn.
Tanks need to pay extra care when placing these patches as to minimise the amount of space they take up, ideally by having them spawn on top of previous patches.
Mythic Difficulty
强化翻滚涟漪
Each time
翻滚涟漪
is cast, the
增生珊瑚
furthest from Lady Ashvane will spawn an
强化翻滚涟漪
bubble instead of a standard one.
This bubble acts the same way as a standard bubble, but will instead restore up to 30% of her shield if it reaches her and deal up to three times the damage if it touches the boss.
To remove this bubble, players must touch it three separate times. This will deal damage equal to the amount done by a standard bubble each time it is soaked, as well as applying a stack of
浸水
per soak.
If a single player wants to soak the
强化翻滚涟漪
multiple times, they need to move away from it in between each soak, as standing constantly within the bubble only trigger the explosion a single time.
Empowered bubbles need to soaked three times!
浸水
The
浸水
debuff gained from soaking
翻滚涟漪
bubbles lasts 20 minutes, up from 15 seconds.
This practically makes the debuff last the entire fight, as the encounter will be over long before the 20 minutes have timed out.
There was no way of avoiding gaining a
浸水
debuff when soaking a
翻滚涟漪
, even with immunities.
The debuff also persists through death, which is supposed to discourage guilds from putting all of the debuffs on one player, having them die before resurrecting them, although the most popular strategy does this anyway.
General Strategy
Currently, the most effective strategy is to have three tanks and three healers in the raid.
The third tank is responsible for soaking nearly all
翻滚涟漪
that would reach the boss whilst her shield is active.
Any bubble that is due to reach the boss whilst her Hardened Carapace is down can simply be let through, as this does not give her any shield back and allows the group to avoid Waterlogged debuff applications.
As nearly all Waterlogged damage is placed on a few targets, this allows the raid to three heal the encounter.
To pull off this strategy cleanly, the raid needs to meet certain damage thresholds to prevent the third tank from having to soak too many bubbles.
Unfortunately, we cannot give much advice as to "who should use cooldowns at which point" as this varies wildly based on your raid composition.
That being said, most guilds do have some DPS hold cooldowns at the beginning of the fight as to have them available during the burn phases.
Below is a chart of how many
翻滚涟漪
waves are dealt with per phase one, as well as the ideal amount of health the boss would leave each phase two in.
Shield Phase One
Rippling Wave 1 - All soaked by third tank
Rippling Wave 2 - All waves hit the boss
Burn Phase One
Boss should leave around 65-75% health.
Shield Phase Two
Rippling Wave 1 - All soaked by third tank
Rippling Wave 2 - All soaked by third tank
Rippling Wave 3 - All waves hit the boss
Burn Phase Two
Boss should leave around 30-40% health
The third tank can die during this and be battle ressed during the next shield phase so that they can soak.
Shield Phase Three
Rippling Wave 1 - Ress the third tank, they then soaked all bubbles and die.
Rippling Wave 2 - All soaked by second tank.
Rippling Wave 3 - Ress the third tank, they then soaked all bubbles and die.
Rippling Wave 4 - All waves hit the boss
Burn Phase Three
Boss needs to die before the phase ends.
When letting a wave of
翻滚涟漪
hit the boss, the raid should be stacked up as to allow healers to use cooldowns to cover the incoming damage.
Healers will also need to use some output/defensive cooldowns for each
翻滚涟漪
as they are soaked by the third tank.
Additionally, nearby
翻滚涟漪
bubbles may need to be soaked if the bosses shield has not dropped just yet. This should generally be done by the third tank or a player with good self healing capabilities.
During the third shield phase, the third tank should use large survival cooldowns and receive external cooldowns as to survive the incoming damage with large
浸水
damage.
In the event that this tank dies before soaking all bubbles in the wave, nearby players with good self healing capabilities should soak any leftover bubbles.
珊瑚复生
When a
增生珊瑚
is destroyed via the
艾泽里特弧光
, several zones will appear nearby.
Five seconds later, these zones will detonate, each spawning a new
增生珊瑚
.
If a player stands within the zone when it detonates, they take a burst of damage and prevent the
增生珊瑚
from spawning.
All ranged players should stand next to
增生珊瑚
s before they are destroyed by the
艾泽里特弧光
, as to ensure that they the
珊瑚复生
zones are soaked before they make a new
增生珊瑚
.
Do note: These zones only need one player to stand in them to soak them. They do not deal split damage, just flat damage to anyone who stands within them.
Soak the zones created by the
增生珊瑚
s when they are destroyed!
As damage is such an important part of this encounter, players want to avoid going out of range of the boss whilst dealing with the Coral Growths during phase two.
This is most easily done by having players focus on the Coral Growths closer to the boss when the
艾泽里特弧光
is first cast, as the boss cannot be dragged too far away from the wall during this time due to a Barnacle Bash cast.
On the second
艾泽里特弧光
cast, players should then focus on the remaining Coral Growths which are further away, as the boss can be moved into the middle of the room shortly after the
艾泽里特弧光
pairs have been created.
By clearing the Coral Growths in this way, the raid should be able to maintain range of the boss most of the time during phase two, allowing them to reach the damage checks necessary to defeat the boss.
"Two Phase" Strategy
A newer strategy is starting to become popular with guilds that have a good amount of mythic gear.
This strategy has the raid kill the boss during the second burn phase.
This is achieved by having players hold cooldowns for the burn phases whilst also only 2 tanking the encounter.
As this strategy is still in its infancy, it isn't entirely clear as to how viable it is for a first kill.
This section of the guide will be updated as more information about the strategy comes to light.

Question : If boss is put below Execute threshold (20-30 %), before shield comes back, does the shield takes more damage like in Execution phase ?
If yes, a strategy could be to burn boss below threshold during 2nd phase 2, so 3rd phase 1 is shorter.

Death knights can use anti-magic shell before Briny Bubble is cast to negate the effects of the bubble on themselves. Blood DK tanks might want to save theirs for overlapping Cutting Coral on heroic.

Soloing Lady Ashvane as Holy Priest, I was thwarted by Briny Bubble. I used "Potion of Disclosure" when I saw Briny Bubble being cast. It worked to break the Bubble. Had to try several times to get the RNG Gods to let me get her down without a second cast. Thought about, but did not try "Potion of Concealment" so don't know if that works.
