This strategy guide covers how to defeat the Grand Magistrix Elisande boss encounter and notable trash on all difficulties. Grand Magistrix Elisande is the 9th boss of

, and can only be accessed after players have defeated all of the previous bosses. She is located at the top of the Nightspire, initially floating in the Nightwell. She is the final boss of the
暗夜之塔
wing of LFR.
Elisande is available the week of January 17th on Normal and Heroic, January 24th on Mythic, and February 21st on LFR.

Quick Tips
- Grand Magistrix Elisande harness the power of the Nightwell to shape time itself. When her health is low and she is nearing defeat, she rewinds time to send players back to the point at which they first engaged her. The fight recommences from this point, but Elisande uses new abilities mixed in with echoes of her past actions. She can perform this feat twice, after which time can no longer save her.

The trash leading to Grand Magistrix Elisande is sparse, and consists of only a few new mob types.

Taunting the Astral Farseer or Twilight Stardancer mobs will cause them to teleport to the tank's position, which can be handy for pulling these enemies without the risk of AoE abilities spreading to other targets.

This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the Grand Magistrix

encounter on Normal difficulty. Changes to the fight for Looking for Raid, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties are listed below in their respective sections, including suggestions for dealing with the new mechanics introduced in these difficulties.
The Grand Magistrix Elisande encounter features heavy movement and frequent high-priority target swaps. The fight has a three-phase structure, and Elisande uses more complex abilities in later phases.
Leave the Nightwell deals damage to nearby playersElisande will begin the encounter by casting

, dealing damage to nearby players as she lands.
Players must bring Elisande to 10% health to initiate a new phase. When this happens, Elisande will cast

and disappear into the Nightwell, healing to full health. After 10 seconds, she will

Each phase gets progressively harder because, when Elisande uses certain abilities (

The Grand Magistrix Elisande encounter can be a long fight. Depending on your raid's performance, it may be possible to get two casts of

All Phases
At varying intervals throughout the fight, Elisande will summon Time Elementals to assist her. When the Time Elementals die, they will create a "time zone" that distorts the flow of time within its boundaries.
Recursive Elementals are blue, do not have to be tanked, and cannot be moved.
Recursive Elementals will chain cast

10-15 seconds into the phase, a Recursive Elemental and an Expedient Elemental will spawn

At about 1:40 into the phase, an Expedient Elemental will spawn
At 1:50 into the phase, a Recursive Elemental will spawn

At about 3:15 into the phase, an Expedient Elemental will spawn
When both a Recursive and an Expedient Elemental spawn, the Recursive Elemental should be the primary kill target: as you will want access to the

In addition, Elisande will attack targets with

throughout all phases of the fight. This ability deals moderate damage to its target, and then lashes out to additional players. As a phase progresses,

Looking For Raid Difficulty
In Looking for Raid difficulty,

Additionally, the

ability in Phases 2 and 3 has been made simpler. Each time Grand Magistrix Elisande or her echo casts

, only one set of players will gain the

debuff, and Elisande will fire only once.
In Phase 3, the

mechanic has been removed, and

's damage does not increase per tick.
Heroic Difficulty
On Heroic Difficulty, the
异域奇点
spell in phase one will occur more frequently.
From the second cast of this ability and onwards, Elisande will use
异域奇点
twice in a row.
This will force players to move from the first set of rings and then quickly return to the Slow Time zone to avoid the next set.
On top of this, additional abilities will echo through the phases, rather than just the
异域奇点
.
During Phase 2,
奥能之环
and
异域奇点
will occur at the same times, and from the same locations, as they occurred during Phase 1.
Continue to use the

Players with defensive cooldowns should still soak up

impact sites and react quickly to soak them
These effects can create high healing demand if they overlap with other mechanics during the phase
No echoed abilities will occur at the same time as abilities that are being cast in the current phase, so they are few dangerous overlaps. However, players will need to be dealing with abilities at a much more rapid rate than they did in normal mode. Players must
always
be aware of their surroundings and be ready to counter the next ability Elisande will throw at you.
Mythic Difficulty
Recursion refreshes harmful debuffsExpedite makes them tick fasterOn Mythic difficulty, several of the mechanics have been made more complex.
In all phases, the Recursive Elemental and Expedient Elemental each gain a new ability.
Recursive Elementals will attempt to cast Recursive, which will refresh the duration of all player debuffs
This also will reset the duration of Grand Magistrix Elisande's

buff if it happens to be active at the time
Expedient Elementals will attempt to cast

, which will greatly increase the tick rate (and shorten the duration) of all player debuffs
These abilities must be interrupted

will both lead to excessive raid damage if successfully cast. Recursive allowing additional

blasts will also lead to Elisande's Phase 3 Echoes to also increase their

counts, which in combination with other mechanics in Phase 3 may be fatal.

Grand Magistrix Elisande's

s will now pass through Elisande and continue their arc to the opposite side of the room, rather than terminating when they first reach her position. This means that players must dodge each wave of

s twice. Tanking Elisande at least halfway between the Nightwell and the edge of the room should allow players enough space to react.
This change to
奥能之环
s will deplete the
时间加速
/
减缓时间
domes more quickly than on earlier difficulty levels.
Arcanetic Rings converge on Elisande...
... pass through her...
... and continue to the edges of the room.
The

s that Elisande's Echoes cast will also exhibit this behavior.
The

ability from Phase 1 will now also echo into phases 2 and 3.
The usual mechanic where

pools appear at the same time and place in subsequent phases is still present
In addition
, Echoes of Elisande will cast more

pools at new targets at those times
This will drastically impact the raid's freedom of movement, and players will quickly run out of the capacity to soak the
异域奇点
pools
Note that
异域奇点
pools that spawn from Echoes of Elisande
may
also appear at the same time and place in subsequent phases!
The raid will probably have to contain its position during each phase to a quarter or a third of the room, and shift to a completely new area when each new phase begins.
Since you cannot control where Elisande will go to cast
奥能之环
, nor where the Recursive Elemental will spawn, this will not be perfect -

may spawn while the raid is dealing with one of those mechanics, out of position - but otherwise containing the raid's positioning should cut down on the number of inconvenient
异域奇点
spawns in future phases.

will now extend past the player with the
神秘射线
debuff, rather than stop at them. The mechanic can no longer be controlled by having the marked targets run close to Elisande. Instead, marked targets should back away so that the rest of the raid can see more clearly the path that

will take.
An Echo using Delphuric BeamIn addition,
神秘射线
will now Echo during Phase 3. When Elisande casts
神秘射线
, she also summons an

that will remain in that location for subsequent phases.
This Echo will cast

will deal excessive damage on Mythic difficulty, but this damage will decrease based upon the raid's distance from the

It is still important to manage the

explosions by using the

domes to ensure they do not all explode at the same time

domes, the players detonating their

may need to use cooldowns to withstand each others' detonations
The rest of the raid should move far from the

domes to take reduced damage
While some groups continued to use an adjacent

dome strategy, other groups preferred to spawn the
时间加速
and
减缓时间
domes on opposite sides of the room.
This is less efficient for killing the Elementals
It creates multiple (but smaller) gaps in the Arcanic Rings pattern, giving players extra options for dodging
It also helps in managing the
聚合爆破
damage; the two
聚合爆破
targets who use the time zones will take minimal damage from one another's detonations

There is a typo in the "Heroic Difficulty" section. It says:
On Heroic Difficulty, the Spanning Singularity spell in phase one will occur more frequently.
From the second cast of this ability and onwards, Elisande will use Spanning Singularity twice in a row.
In reality, it should refer to "Arcanetic Ring" ability, not "Spanning Singularity". This is the actual ability which is used twice in a row, and will occur more frequently.

In heroic, you can see which of her Echos is casting the rings, so you know where they will be going. If you have speech bubbles on, her dialog will come from the Echo which is casting. You can put markers around the inner ring of the room and someone can call out where the ring is being cast from (ie, "Ring from Triangle marker.")
