which will focus on a random player and will follow them. As of today the spell has no cooldown, but according to some ptr testing this will spawn around every 10-20 seconds (unconfirmed of course).
To gain this achievement you need 1 person with the orb kite the orb around until a 2nd orb has spawned and then they have to hit each other.

This almost definitely isn't intended behavior, but we accidentally got this achievement without needing to kite an orb. If the player targeted by the orb dies shortly after the orb spawns, the orb stays on its spawn point until the next one spawns, at which point both orbs collide.
Also, confirming that you get this achievement the moment the orbs collide; you don't have to defeat the boss afterwards.

We were lucky enough to have a warlock in the raid group, which meant we could make clever use of the
Demonic Gateway
. We had her set one up right by the entrance, and another close to the center (where the boss is pre-pull). The tanks and a healer went to a far corner and tanked the boss over there, thus we maximized the range that any
Focused Lightning
(which the boss threw out) had to travel to get close to their focused target. These only focus on ranged/healers, so you can completely take melee and tanks out of the equation.
We had whichever raider was focused first, click the gateway
just
about when the orb was getting really close, thus forcing the orb to change direction and move after the raider towards the center of the arena again. The raider would constantly move, as the orbs were a bit tricky to kite. They did, however, seem to not really be great fans of very sudden directional changes (as if they had to think for a mere second before changing directions, d'oh...), so any tricks and speed increases and such were helpful. The next raider to have the next orb focus on them would then try and hug the first orb up.
The orbs aren't really big and might be tricky to actually have collide, and they have to be spot on to pop the achievement.
You can pop the achievement and then wipe
- like oddfish is confirming above (credits for that).
If you see that you will not be able to kite the orb for the time until a new orb spawns, try and pop (have the orb hit you) away from the central area of the arena, as popping it leaves a
Lightning Fissure
. You or other raiders can try again as long as the Lightning Fissures are not hit by a new orb from Focused Lightning. Fissures left from popping an orb will wipe out the raidgroup if a new orb is kited onto them.
The orbs can be kited through other players, as they only pop when hitting their target, however, it does some damage to anyone within 5 yards, so avoid it if you can.
As a last note, if you intend to go for this while acually trying the fight, if you get lucky enough to have a focused raider die before the orb reaches him/her, then just have whichever raider is targeted next kite his/her orb into the exisiting one and the achievement should pop for you. We tried this out, but had trouble having the focused raider being killed before the actual orb hit him/her. RNG FTW!
We frapsed the achiwork and will add it to our killvideo once that's ready, and will update this post with a link for anyone interested.

I can confirm that if you have an orb
attached to
you
, and touch a second orb attached to someone else, you WILL explode the raid. People who are not fixated are completely safe and don't have to worry about avoiding orbs. Be wary of the second kiter if you have one on yourself though.

We got this while the person who was targeted by the orb died and the orb stopped to move and the boss spawned the next orb on the previous one...then we wiped.

If you have no warlocks in your raid, you can start the fight with the whole raid mounted up, except tanks and one healer. If orb fixed on mounted player, he can kite it until second orb arrives.

We got this achievement by using the mounted method. Using multiple player mounts helps greatly.
The only people that shouldn't be mounted are Tanks, Melee and 1 Healer. You could have your Melee mount up aswell but
Focused Lightning
favours picking Ranged and Healers.
When the
Focused Lightning
is being kite'd you will notice it will catch up to you while mounted then stop before exploding, then it starts to chase you again. Once you have 2 players on the same mount being targeted simply kite them until they are both pretty much on top of each other then stop. They will both reach you at the same time and grant the achievement, the boss does not need to be killed.

Did this in a pug today, I got the first orb and used the sacrificial dagger to kill myself before it reached me. However when I died it acted as if it hit me, so I believe the bug mentioned a lot on this page is no longer possible. Best way is the mounted technique.

An extremely easy and painless way to get this achievement is to have the members of your party with a Traveler's Tundra Mammoth (or similar 3 person mount) mount up, and have as many of your dps as possible mount up with them as passengers. Simply ride in a circle around the room and wait until two of the three riders of any mammoth are targeted with orbs. Shortly afterwards, the orbs will line up as they follow the riders and touch each other and the achievement will trigger. You do not need to kill Jin'rokh for the achievement.

This is soloable :)
this was the only achievement i needed for the meta.
Guardian spec and talented Displacer beast and Yseras gift using both tank gear and pvp gear for the speed increase .I started tanking the boss soon as the orb spawned i sprint away and use a mix of travel form and stampede. By now i've taken some hits but gift and a health stone heal me up just enough to survive until second orb spawns. The first orb was getting close so use displacer beast to get away and change my direction so that the secpnd orb gets to me faster. just as the first orb and boss reach me they clash.

, the orbs are slower. 3 people on 1 travelers tundra can do it easily. Just run around in outer circle until two orbs are following. Did it on first try :)

Solo'd as a resto druid. Popped some HoT's, ran around in glyphed Travel Form (mount speed) so I couldn't be dismounted. Used Displacer Beast when the orb was getting close then Dash, then just run down the middle of the two orbs and boom. No potions needed.

Having a lot of trouble with this right now. Me and a friend are trying it, and have tried numerous strategies. In videos showcasing the mount strategy, the orbs never seem to be able to catch up, but they consistently catch us just a second after the second orb spawns.

I recommend using a druid with feral charge and feral affinity. When the orb starts to get close, charge right through it and sprint to the second orb.

Don't read old strats. Mounting and running laps does NOT work anymore. Not even with the Paladin Passive. Instead use a warlocks portal and disc pull. You stay mounted for both! Have the warlock put up portals before hand then mount. Have the disc positioned to pull after the portal exit. Have the 1st person run around then the second go the other way and meet up. 1st person takes a portal a little bit up ahead then get pulled a little after exiting the portal. This should be attempted on the 1st try or wipe cuz it #$%^s up when he starts casting thunder; and pools of DMG spawn everywhere. There's ways mentioned to solo it with demon hunter and mobility, and druid stuff etc. This strat will allow an entire raid to get it with relative ease.

Can be done solo as an outlaw rogue with grapling hook talented. When he start the cast use sprint and run away. When orb seems to catch up graple to opposite direction. You might get lucky and make them connect imediately or he will try to grab you. If not just vanish and try again. I accidentaly did it this way after getting dazed while attempting the mount method.

I found a trick to doing this tonight running with 2 of my friends. If you jump into one of the corners of the area over and over while mounted the balls seem to lose pathing to you and hang up. I think you could probably do it this way with 2 people or maybe solo but it definitely works with 3.

Can be done solo with a Survival Hunter in Legion: stick your pet to the boss and run away with cheetah. When the orb is getting too close Harpoon the boss and run (Posthaste helps). If you are lucky the second orb will spawn and they will collide, otherwise reset and repeat.

Just did this with 3 people. Seems very difficult without a lock in a small group. We tanked at the door, gateway from the back off the room to the center. Portal under boss. 2 non-tanks stand at gateway. When the orb comes towards the lock, gateway then portal. Second orb will soon head towards other non-tank and complete achievement.
We tried many times without a lock with 3 of us running around on mammoths etc as suggested here. This really does not seem to work at all as you cannot stay ahead of the orbs. Perhaps their speed has been increased in a patch as mounting is no longer fast enough to stay ahead.

Took a few tries but I did this tonight. Mount while you can, use your class speed boosts when you can. The key for me was that if you move side to side really quickly, the orb sort of slows down and has trouble following you, zig-zagging back and forth. A healthy dose of luck, and it worked.

this achievement is stupidly difficult and very frustrating now due to legion class changes.
my girlfriend and i went to get this on our main paladins whatever we did we could not outrun the orbs long enough to get a second orb to even spawn.
so instead we went in on our 102/103 demon hunters using double-jump/glide, fel rush, vengeful retreat, and the jump from metamorphosis to keep away from the orbs
we tried varying methods dying multiple times nearly giving up.
finally we both had orbs on us we fel rushed past each other in a X pattern and the orbs hit and we got the achievement, we didnt even get to kill the boss after that.
this achievment seems to come down to just a whole load of luck and good timing.

Got this achievement in 7.1.5. Took some tries to figure out the best way to do this but we made a good strategy with myself as a mage.
We two manned it.
1. I (a mage) got agro on the boss and ran to the edge of the room.
2. The first orb always seemed to spawn on me so I kited in a line to the opposite part of the room.
3. The second orb always targeted my partner. I blinked over him with my orb so that it instantly collided with his as his spawned.
We weren't planning on having the orbs collide as the second one spawned but that is what ended up happening. I was going to displacement blink back over his orb a second time and let them collide that way.

Here are two methods to
SOLO
the Lightning Overload Achievement (as of Patch 7.1.5).

EASY MODE:
This method can be completed by
all classes
, and is completed on your mount. I do
strongly
recommend using an absorb ability (trinket, class ability, legendary gear, etc.) prior to mounting up. This prevents knock-offs from the boss.
Optional:
Use absorb ability.
Mount up and pull boss back to the entrance.
Wait for "Focus Lightning" to be cast.
Kite boss while staying in
melee range
. This is crucial to get the second orb to spawn quicker.
When he casts "Static Burst" (blue AoE), then you can get some distance from the boss.
Watch for where second orb is spawning.
Perform a 180 degree turn towards the second orb location.
Run to the second orb, and draw orbs together.
Done!

HARD MODE:
This method is for any class that
has a class movement ability
. I completed this as an
Outlaw Rogue
.
This should work for
Warriors
(Charge, Heroic Leap),
Rogues
(Grappling Hook),
Mages
(Blink),
Shaman

Druids
(Travel Form + Displacer Beast),
Warlocks
(Demonic Gateway),
Demon Hunters
(Glide + Fel Rush), and
Monks
(Roll, Flying Serpent Kick).
Hunters
(Disengage) could try this technique, but there might be better ways by utilizing pets. Those are all of the ones I can think of...
I would recommend
Paladins

Death Knights
and
Priests
to use the "easy mode" above. These classes can attempt this method, but will have to use some sort of speed boost... like

I found a fool proof way to SOLO this in 7.1.5 with any class. It's easy as it gets.
Put the boss in the SE corner of the room where the door to the next area is and face him to the statue in the corner. Now just stand there. Jin'rokh will spawn his orbs in the corner and they will get stuck there. All you have to do is wait for him to spawn two orbs on top of each other and boom you are done.

Edit- still works 7.2.5 - I added some more screenshots and some more details to the album. The key to getting this to work is making sure the boss is basically touching the wall of the waterfall area. You want him in there as far as you can get him. I run into the very corner of the room and then come back out to get right under the boss.

I managed to make this work by pulling the boss as far into the corner as I could, then running along the wall until I was just on the corner of this outcropping. (See submitted screenshot.) Then I took a few steps forward. The very next two orbs spawned within the wall and I got the achievement. This was after several attempts at mounted and other suggestions I saw here. Hope this helps you!
Edit: So, they haven't allowed my screenshot through, I'm not sure why. I'll attempt to resubmit.
Edit 2: They still aren't allowing my SS, so I'll explain my positioning as well as I can. I pulled him to the southeast corner. There is a decorative outcropping on the side of the fountain. If you look over, there is a kind of brazier on the wall as well. I pulled him until I was standing between those two, to get him as close as possible. I then ran along the outcropping of the fountain, hugging it as tight as I could, and stopped at the very very corner. I took a couple of quick steps forward and two minutes later I had my achievement. I wish they'd let my screenshot thought, not sure what I did wrong with it, but that's the best I can explain it without a visual aid. :)

Me and my gf just got this achievement in a very buggy way. We tried the solo tactic and the mount running tactic and kept on getting very close but failed. Almost every time due to me getting dazed by the boss. GF is a leatherworking, so we decided mid-try it was time for her to get the damn bardings so we would not get dazed. She starts spamming the dala hearthstone, of course getting interrupted all the time by all the lightnings. When the boss picks me up and throws she manages to get the full channel off. I died shortly after, but her character stayed in place while she was in the loading screen. The boss hit her, but she took no damage. All of a sudden we got the achievement. I soon realised that the boss kept casting the orbs on her, but because she was actually in another place/dimension whatever the orbs never "reached" her and just stayed next to her char model. So the moment he cast the second orb, it collided with the first one. Ta-da!
So yeah, we got this by a complete accident :)

I found a way to do this. If you check the different corners of the room, you'll see a small, elevated platform that you can jump on.
What you're going to do is make sure the balls will get stuck on either the left OR right of the platform (since you'e elevated, it won't reach you) but NOT the front (front doesnt get stuck). Pull/tank the boss to either side so when the balls come you run to the elevated part or just have a friend (easier)do it with you and hope the one on the platform gets both balls right away or you can wait.

Too much movement seems to be the enemy here. here's what worked for me:
On either side of the entrance you'll see what look like a large step with a small waterfall coming out of the base of them. Pull the boss so that he is located on one side of this bench, and you are on the other. the lightning ball spawn should occur right in the bench and wont move. Just stay still and wait for him to cast the second ball. remain still and they collide.

Found a way to do this tonight if you have multiple people.
1. Have someone get targeted by a lightning orb
2. Hurt their feelings so they hearthstone out while still targeted
The ball should now just be hovering in the air. You can just run the next one into it.

If you're having trouble with the method of putting the boss in the corner, try dragging him there and then
running constantly into the wall
. My group found that as long as we did this, the orbs would spawn behind us and just sit there, stuck, until another orb spawned and the achievement completed. Anytime we stopped running, the orbs would catch up to us, but as long as we ran into the wall, they did not move and made the achievement trivial.

We had a lot of trouble getting the solo against the wall/platform method to work so we found a way that works that I haven't seen posted. Requires 2 people and one of them being a pet class.
Basically the non pet class started the fight mounted. Me, being the hunter sent my pet in to tank the boss .The other class stays mounted and waits for an orb on them. They could easily keep ahead of the orb indefinitely being mounted. They just had to be careful nothing hits them to dismount them. Then I simply ran my lightning into the one chasing the mounted person. Took a couple orbs but we got it the first attempt trying this. Super easy

Many good comments on here on how to achieve...well, this achievement. I'm going to attach a photo that should help if you are having a hard time. Pull the boss and burn him down some, then get him in
position. In my case I pulled him against the fountain. Once he was against the wall, I took a couple steps towards him and waited. Looking at the picture you can see the lightning orb in the water, with a tendril
of electricity attached to my character. It is stuck and cannot reach me. Wait until the next one and BAM you will have the achievement! Good luck!

Easy to Solo at Legion level 110, Normal mode, 10 player.
1) Start the fight.
2) Head to the north east corner at 64, 23.
3) Run right into that corner. The flame pillar should be on your right, and the ledge on your left.
4) Jin'Rokh will keep doing his thing, and eventually a lightning orb will spawn in the wall. "Oh boy, now what" you say, well read on.
5) Jin'Rokh will eventually spawn more lightning orbs, so stay in that corner, and eventually the two lightning orbs will meet up and clash.
5.5) If it doesn't work, don't fret, just feign death/shadowmeld/stealth/whatever, and reset the fight. Do not kill the boss until Achievement Pops.
6) ?
7) Achievement Completed.

I made a wowhead acct just to put my two cents here...I died multiple times trying to los the orbs by finding that sweet spot that many people seem to be suggesting here. I finally decided to start the encounter mounted up and very easily got this achievement by kiting the first two orbs...as soon as he picked me up to throw me, they collided. Try this method...guaranteed to save on the repair bill.

I tried the mount technique and got VERY close. My downfall was getting them to collide quick enough before
A) Hitting me
B) He swipes me off my mount or
C) He picks me up and somehow the collide doesnt happen.
It took me 3 goes but in the end i ended up getting the orbs stuck in the wall. For me there was no 'Sweet spot' or certainly not the corner everyone keeps mentioning. However i did repeatedly keep maneovering around the bench and the aim i had in mind was to make his fist punch the bench so it got stuck in there. Not really sure what exactly happened but the orbs mananged to somehow get stuck in the next room? All i literally did was keep moving my spot a little hugging the bench as tight as possible and it ended up happening at the side of the bench, not the corner(s).
GL yall. Theres a few methods but just wanted to put my say in to try and help. :)

Confirming the wall trap method mentioned by other commentors still works as of 8.0, and was fine when done with two people.
Ensure that he is as close to the wall as possible, do not just pull him straight to the wall and expect it to work.You need to run him up the side of it then rotate him so that he's facing the wall. His feet should be clipping the edge of the fountain.
You can reposition him if you feel you've got it wrong. We moved him around and into a better position and it was fine.
Once you get the correct position, it won't take overly long for the achievement to pop. If he jumps to the middle and does his P2 thing, you will want to try repositioning him when he comes back because you probably didn't have it quite right.

I tried doing what the top comments mentioned but I couldn't manage to do it properly it seems. As a warrior I used Heroic Leap to gain distance, while chasing me the boss used another Focused Lightning Orb and both collided, resulting in the achievement.
In short: another option is to use any speed increase right after the boss summons the Focused Lightning Orb and hope he summons another.

This still works in 8.2 (August 2019).
If you're having issues getting this with the top comment (Holyshirt) near the fountain it's because you aren't positioned correctly. Start at the other end of the same fountain and hug the fountain wall the entire way until you get to the desired spot on the other side near the door. As long as you hug the fountain wall and push back to the far corner, he will be in such a position that his legs/feet are inside the fountain. I couldn't get this positioning by just running to that corner, kiting him around the wall of the fountain seemed to do the trick for me.

At 120 with 2 people - Have 1 person take the aggro from the boss, and let the other person stay on a mount.
The mounted person can easily kite the orb until a second orb appears.
After this it's just a matter of getting the 2 orbs to collide. Easy peasy!

Just did it today as lvl 50 fire mage - after i tried hugging the wall method unsuccessfully a couple of times - i discovered a really easy way of doing this achievement:
Simply mount up before the fight , and go stand on the boss and aggro him - then start running around the area in circles.
After a few seconds - the first orb will come , which is easy to kite.
Keep running in circles until the second orb appears (DBM helps here ) - and now the trick is making them collide - which you can get by causing the orbs to form a single line towards you - might take a few tries to get.
If the boss dismounts you - which is a simple matter of luck - reset the fight and try again, Invisibility for mages works great.
Took me about 7 minutes a few resets to get it done , you will get the achievement when the 2 orbs collide - no need to kill the boss.

Super simple way to reset this as a warlock. Place demonic circle right outside the door. If the achievement fails, just port outside the door and it will reset!

Pull the boss on your mount then go to one side of the arena.
When he spawns the first orb kite it to the other side, the second orb should have been spawned by then.
Now move you move in the direction of the second orb and also a bit away from both orbs at the same time (sounds weird I know) and both will collide = achievement done
I tried the method that makes the boss spawn the orbs stuck in the wall but wasn't able to do it like that.
Then I read a comment that mentioned a "mount" method and without further investigation I restarted the fight, got on my mount and after one failure I manged to accomplish it on the second try.

I just got on my lvl 50 survival hunter in 9.0.5.
I stood far away and threw a grenade at the boss, then kinda kited him around the circle.
I used cheetah when the first one spawned, then kept circling.
Then used disengage with posthaste to go farther.
Then right when he's casting the next orb, take a hard right across the boss and keep running to aim the first orb where the next orb spawns.
It lined up for me.
I had to start away from the boss because he will daze you.

I can't solo this for the life of me. I'm trying the mount method, but by the time you get the two orbs close to each other, he grabs you and flings you, ruining the whole damn thing.

Can be done on Demon Hunter by double jump gliding and using your 2 dashes. Once the first orb spawned I double jump glided and dashed away from it, after the second orb spawned I tightened up my kite and they touched granting me the achievement so easily.

did it today on a lvl 60 Warlock with both ports and burning rush - put your blue boy at the boss with only spot on so you have a clear view on the stage

Just completed using the mounted method, when the second lightening was being cast you need to stop running away and start running back into the boss. Getting the two orbs to tighten up. They were able to touch / achieve popped just as I got pulled up by the boss.

Solo'd with a warrior on patch 10.2.0 - had a really hard time to do it.
What is important and I noticed when attempting this achievement is to bring the boss to the south east portion, where there is a huge statue in a fountain. Then, bring the boss to a corner of this fountain, then hug the wall as you walk towards the other corner of the fountain so that the boss follows you, at this point the boss should be really close to the wall. When that happens, you may stand under the boss (also make sure the boss is facing the statue in fountain) and then wait for him to cast the orbs towards the fountain. With luck, they will spawn behind the wall so they collide as long as you don't move.

Solo'd following the mount method, but without a mount... I've been using a speed set instead.
Could be an alternative, in my case I found it quite easy.

I just did this as a
Ret Pally level 70
.
It was
super simple
.
1.
Start fight/taunt
2.
Run in a close, clockwise circle around boss and pop Divine Steed (movement ability) when the first orb gets casted. The orb will trail behind, keep a semi-tight circle around boss. If it gets too close to you, you can use Blessing of Freedom if you've spec'd it to give the 30% movement speed buff (it's called Unbound Freedom).
3.
Keep that same clockwise circle around boss going until he starts casting the second orb. When he started casting the second orb, I did a full U-turn, cast my second Divine Steed (movement ability) to go towards the other orb and the orbs ran into each other. Immediately got achievement and then one-shot the boss.
I didn't have any speed buffs/mounts/anything special. Just kited boss around basically.

At level 70: mount up, run through the boss and start circling him. After he casted the 2nd orb try to keep both of them equal distance until he slam grab you at which time the achievement will be complete.
