Got this achievement tonight, can confirm that as of Patch 4.3, you are required to bounce the orb at least 10 times
before
bouncing it into the boss. We pushed 3 bounces twice and then 11 bounces after the second dark phase and successfully earned this achievement.
Bouncing it 10 times or more in total over the course of the fight will not earn you the achievement, it has to be 10 bounces before a dark phase.

So we bounced the Orb 11 times and did not get credit for the achievement tonight. I thought that the wording may imply you have to bounce the Orb 11 times then kill him immediatly afterward, not just bounce it 11 times and kill him at any point in the fight, but this seems to be otherwise.

The fight is actually easier while doing this achievement on the pull if your healers and tanks can handle the momentary spike damage. He ends up with a giant debuff that shortens the fight quite a lot.
We went 11 then 6 each time after that with little to no problems. We used hero/bloodlust during the first dark phase to help with the initial burst with the stacks we gathered as well as stabilize healing.

Did this last night in our 10m normal run. As usual, split your raid in one ranged and one melee camp. Assign your /pro healer to the tank, and make sure the tank has all his cooldowns prepared for when the stacks of
Focused Anger
get high (and they will get high when going for the achievement). Have all your other raiders strive to perfect the angle of the void and deal with all the normal mechanics as usual.
We went for letting the void get to 11 stacks (as it starts off in the ranged camp, that's the number of stacks you can easily get to without having to move the boss and rearrange the raidcamps heavily), and then hit the boss to go into a shadow phase. As usual, we'd have one person marked in the ranged camp, and one in the melee - for the rest in each camp to stack on for bouncing the void. Each camp would have their healer/dispeller, and the tankhealer got to focus entirely on the tank and himself, and nothing else.
Pop heroism/tw when you deem it'll server your raiders best - during either of the shadow phases.
If you don't have the tank/tankhealer to deal with the spikey damage as the stacks on the boss build, then don't go for this achievement just yet.

We did this without an especially decent tank healer by placing our third healer in between the two groups, off to the side. This way they don't interfere with the bouncing but they stay in range of both groups as well as the tank at all times, allowing them to help with the damage spikes.
Somewhat like:
TANK
BOSS
MELEE
-----------------HEALER
RANGED
with a healer in both melee and ranged spots too, of course.

Solo'ed this as a 568 resto shaman.
Essentially, you have to chase the ball (standing on top of it) until it bounces. Do this 10 times, then burst down the boss, and, boom, free cheevo.
Or that's how I'd expect it to go on a class that can pull more than 15k dps and selfheal (probably a blood dk). For me, it was much more difficult than the short explanation. I had to DPS (with healing mixed in) him down to 500k hp (used the ball twice to reset his anger stacks), then get the 10 stacks, and from there, I just had to quickly finish him off (and heal myself) before he killed me.

Solo'd today as a 548 MM hunter. Had a tenacity pet tank him in the middle and just bounced the ball back and forth 11 times myself. I had to use to pet command move to get the boss in a spot that would intercept the ball after 11 bounces. The Spirit Bond talent + a Life Spirit from picking herbs kept my health up enough to barely survive bouncing the ball and the small amount of damage taken after Zon'ozz absorbed the ball.

Easy solo as hunter.
1) Misdirect boss to pet, put a couple hits in. Do not kill.
2) When Void ball spawns: chase it down, standing on top of it, it will change directions, do it 11 times just to be safe.
3) Nuke boss down after.
4) ?

Put pet on passive.
Move pet to middle.
MD boss to pet.
Damage boss to spawn orb.
Run into orb from side to side until you get 10 stacks.
DPS boss down the closer you get to 10.
Kill boss.
Get achievement.
Did this on 10 man heroic, item level 595, BM.

I can confirm that at least on heroic 10 man mode with 3 people, you only need one person to ping-pong 10 times the "Void" ball to get the achievement for all the present players in your raid.

Was able to complete the achievement on 25M Heroic with my DW Frost DK.
Stand right in the orb as it is listed with the ret pally comment. keep the boss targeted and use Death Siphon to heal yourself if you get low. Do not use AMS as it can make that "bounce" not count. Do not use your Army of the Dead as it can register on them if they are attacking the boss.

Did this today on my 694 arcane mage. very easy. set on norm, I arcane blasted until he summoned the orb, then ran into it until I had the 10 stacks, then burned him down. didn't need to heal, only buff I had was arcane bril.

Get to the boss area. 2nd boss in Dragon Soul assuming you go left inside Wyrmrest Temple.
Once inside area run around and knock out all the adds first.
Engage boss lightly.
He will eventually spawn a transparent looking orb or ball.
You run into the ball and it will go in the opposite direction.
Do this 10 times.
I found the number underneath the boss's picture top left (next to mine).
When that number hit 10 he ran back to the centre and a few adds popped up.
Screen darkened (at first I thought I had run out of some unknown area and it was resetting - wrong).
After about 10 seconds boss ran back to me and I burned the boss.

I'd like to point out that you'll need some kind of damage reduction affects for yourself if you're not a class that can heal. The 10 stacks you're looking for are on the orb itself, not you, nor the boss. Once you see 10 stacks on the orb, go ahead and kill the boss. You're not timed, even if the orb despawns when it hit the walls, don't worry that won't void the achievement.

685 feral druid, achievement is soloable. Just bounce the orb back and forth til 10 stacks then burn the boss down.

Warlock with voidwalker out
"Move to" and put voidwalker right on boss, this will make boss mad, immediately put voidwalker on passive.
Run up to boss and smack him once, no spell
Watch for red stream coming out from boss and it will spawn a pinkish swirl, when the center turns white it is the ball, run into it.
It will change course, follow it and again with white center run into it
Watch health on your voidwalker as you may need to spawn him again
Have a health stone handy, but mostly used healing spell when killing him after ten bounces

If you bring a friend (or wife) along, you can solo this very easily, as of 6.2.4.
Have a player hold the boss, and have the other chase the ball around until you grab it ten or more times.
If the ball touches the boss, it will dissipate, and you'll have to start over once he casts the ball again.
After 10 bounces, kill the boss.

Go to

Once in Wyrmrest Temple, take the left drake.
Stay in the middle of the boss room. (Where the boss starts.)
Hurt

A purple transparent thing will appear. (Switch focus to it so it's easy to track, but don't attack it.)
Chase down that purple ball thing. (Meaning, try to get yourself to into the ball.)
It will change direction and the buff counter it has on it will increase.
Repeat steps 6 and 7 until the buff on the ball says 10 or higher.
Kill the boss.
Notes:
This was pretty easily soloable as a well geared Level 110.
Try to keep the ball in the middle of the room, if it hits an outer wall of the boss room you have to start over.
Since you are there by yourself, the boss will be right next to you the whole time.

allowed to go back and forth through the boss without resetting anything.
The boss does things that slow you down. Various snare cancelling or sprint like abilities are helpful..

Easy solo at 7.3 gear levels.
Auto-attack boss once to engage.
Big purple ball spawns, chase it around the area.
Every time it touches you, it bounces in a random direction and the boss gains one stack of a buff. It's like the torch juggling from the Midsummer Festival, just keep following the ball and let it bounce off of you.
As soon as the buff hits 10 stacks, attack the boss again. He'll die pretty much instantly, achievement complete, well done.

I had a little harder time with this achieve than I thought I would. I used my pet to hold him, as seen suggested and that worked well. First time I failed, as I misunderstood the objective .
First of all, forget counting. Also forget doing the 11 or 12 'just in case' times. I don't see the point of this either. The amount of times you need to do it are RIGHT on the orb you're bouncing off you, and to top it off, that number never goes above 10. So, give the last bounce away from boss once it hits that 10, and go kill him for your achieve.

Be mindful trying this if Warlord Zon'ozz is capable of dazing you while you're chasing the void ball around. He only spawns it once during the entire fight, so if you lose it to the walls you'll either have to reset the encounter somehow or blow him up and try again next week.

As a lvl 55 mage:
- Engage boss, and let him summon the purple ball
- Cast mirror image, and let them keep Zon'ozz in his place, leaving you free to move
- This should buy you enough time to get enough 'bounces' off the ball.
- Towards the end he'll come after you again, and daze you alot
- Keep chasing the ball, and use Blink / Shimmer whenever possible.
- When you got enough bounces off the ball, kill him and get the Achievement.

1. If you are any class with a pet, you can make it easy (use pet to tank the boss = switch to passive mode + use move to)
3. Start the fight by 1 pet offensive ability (so the pet will be tanking the boss)
3: Move the boss a little bit away from mid area to "Africa"
4. Voala, you can safely bound the ball in mid area without a risk that ball will proc the boss into another phase
5. Bound the ball until it gets 10 stacks on it.
6. Kill the boss
7. Ez achievement
If you are any class with no pet, sometimes it can get tricky, because the ball will put the boss to another phase even if you "tryhard" bounds correctly. I think you still can obtain the achievement after that phase ends (boss will spawn the ball again).

Vengeance Demon Hunter Tutorial :
1. Taunt the Boss - Stay in the middle
2. Wait for the Orb to spawn - Stay in the middle
3. Wait for it to
glow
- Use your Infernal Strike Ability into it (Don't worry about it dying - It's immune)
4. Boss will run to you - Stay where you are
5. Repeat Step 3. until the Orb gets 10 Stacks
6. Let the Orb hit the Boss
7. Kill the Boss
The Talent Abysall Strike reduces your Infernal Strike Ability - Not needed but makes it easier to chase the Orb

I had a super hard time soloing this achievement, even more frustrating because so many videos out there make it seem easy.
In case anyone else has problems, here are a few additional comments.
1. If you can switch to a tank spec, do it, so you stop getting stunned.
2. You can do this on normal difficulty, it doesn't have to be heroic.
3. Aim to get inside the pink ball, you don't need to attack it.
4. Chase the ball, but do it in a way that the boss is always trailing behind you. DON'T go back and forth between the boss's legs like I was, I kept going into the Black Blood phase after just a few bounces, and would have to start the count over. Picture being a train, making wider turns, charging ahead towards the pink ball with the boss as the caboose. I know it sounds stupid but this was ultimately what got me the achievement.

The important part, which gave me a lot of headache - you can only bounce the ball when it's glowing. It will turn transparent after each bounce, that's when you can't do anything to change its direction, so plan your movement accordingly. If you're inside of it while it's transparent, it can accidentally bounce back into the boss as soon as it starts glowing, so only approach it when it's already glowing. Mage's Mirror Image gives you plenty of time to get most of your bounces in, so it was pretty easy for a level 60 Mage.

For anyone struggling with this and getting tired of the tentacle disco, most videos lack this valid point of information. When you bounce the ball it becomes immune for a few seconds. To solo this the ball seems to always go the opposite direction it was going, so simply walk over the orb, let the boss walk over the orb and turn around while the orb is immune. Then it should become active again once you have moved the boss over it. Rinse and repeat 9 more times and you get the achievement. Did it with a naked lvl 60 Evoker no problems once I figured this mechanic.

Ok so, for anyone wondering how to Solo this on a Shaman or any other class really, but are still having trouble following the top comments, this is what I learned:
Once the orb spawns, it will start moving away from the boss.
After you hit it the first time, make the boss take a couple of steps OPPOSITE the orbs direction. Not much, just 2 steps or so otherwise you wont be able to catch up to the ball.
immediately run toward the ball again. CC breaks and things like Deaths advance (DK) or Spirit Wolf (shaman) are helpful for the stun. I also took Spirit Walk on Shaman.
Hit the ball, take a couple steps forward, then run through the boss and repeat.
try to do this on the first try if possible, since the orb is usually in the middle. If you fail though, you can kill the adds and try again. Hope this helps!

If you have a tank spec of your class... switch to it. This achievement is easy if you cannot get dazed
1.Clear Mobs
2.Agro boss
3.Boss summons ball
4.Hit ball
5.Wait 3 seconds chase after ball
6.Repeat steps 3-5 9 more times.

So I've been pumpin with more than 20 alts in a single day, and that stupid ball keeps on despawning on my 6:th, or 9:th, and so on.
I have even used 2 alts at thesame time, and there is always a reason I somehow ONE-SHOT the boss.
I used rouges, mages, druids, but this time I tried with my hunter instead.
You can reset the boss with the classes I mentioned easily, except for druids.
Don't know if this is the reason I finally cleared the achievement, so here it goes.
How I finally CLEARED it:
On Heroic-10-man.
Being right under the ball seems to make it despawn, so make sure to be INFRONT of it instead.
Second reason it might keep despawning is because the boss touches it, so I made sure the ball was far away from boss.
I used a HUNTER with SURVIVAL-spec, and without GEAR, and had my pet tanking the boss.
SPEC-code : "B8PA5ZKiUcehijAKxoiI1CP3gCoEkEhSQQERaJJkQCRkIAAAAAAEE4ASSSIJSkGAAAAgA"
Before you start;
Make sure your pet is on passive, and in the middle of the room. Use MISDIRECTION on your pet, and hit the boss once, and the boss will go straight to your pet. You have free will now!
After the ball spawns, make sure you move your pet further away from the middle of the room so that the boss won't be near the ball.
Once the ball spawns it will always bounces back to boss at first, that is why I moved boss further away.
I had macro made also just in case;
/target void of the unmaking
/use auto attack
So right before the ball hits you I used the macro, but once the ball was further away from boss I began right-clicking the mouse instead.
I just kept on doing this and it worked on my first try. Maybe I was lucky this time, I don't know. Hope this gives some insight.
