Gimme TBC so it can be my forever home. I’d probably never touch Classic or Retail again.
Please let it be Burning Crusade.
The interesting part will come when the new retail expansion is launched. I play classic even though I have the latest retail version BFA which I now only play occasionally. Will I buy the new expansion or just stick to classic? I honestly don't know yet. What will happen at Blizzard marketing when they only get half the sales expected for the new expansion because of people playing classic? Will they still talk about bringing out other old version servers and cut the retail numbers even more? What does the community think they will do?
I hope they allow us to vote on changes like in Runescape, this cold be used for that
If blizzard ever deviates from #nochanges? What are they talking about? We got 1 month of world PvP then straight to a very late vanilla rush-style version of AV as the only way to gain honor. In vanilla, we had about 7 months of world PvP, and then moved to single realm versions of WSG and AV, with a very different version of AV with far more NPCs, elites, no possibility to rush, and the main focus on rep, not much honor gain in there at all. In PvP the proper tag would be #nothingsimilar
Agree with the others: leave Classic servers alone. I think separate BC or Wrath servers might be ok to test out to get a good handle on their long-term viability, but not at the expense of Classic servers. If I lose my classic server, they lose my subscription. I think that holds true for probably many folk in Classic right now.Don't get sucked into the gear-chasing hamster wheel that lead to the power creep and worst-than-the-last expansions.Classic is more than the just the gear.
I'd love to play WotLK again for one reason: Loque'nahak casts Moonfire as hunter pet!
Has anyone ever suggested releasing bc and wotlk while isolating classic? Copying characters to the expansion(s) while leaving the originals playable in classic? In other words, you can progress your character through the expansions but also play it as 60 in classic. One character who could be 60, 70 and 80 depending on which version you want to play.
In my opinion, a Public Test Realm seems to be stood up for 2 reasons:1) To further test content before it's release - the Nefarion scripting issues in BWL hurt the World First Race dramatically, allowing Calamity to get a kill simply because they didn't experience the 30 seconds of Nefarion flying away, a "scripting" bug2) To push less high end guilds to rely off of PTRing (not PUBLIC test realm, but PRIVATE test realm). This was admittedly rampant for many top end guilds, as who wouldn't want to practice their clears.
They've already departed from Classic, changing things to deal with complaints (whining- they knew what they were getting into!) from people instead of keeping it as it was.

time for retail devs to ruin classic with their awesome tweaks and changes
