We've been told by Blizzard in the latest
Phase 3 Preview video
that players in Season of Discovery will be able to unlock Dual Talent Specialization!
When a character reaches level 40 they will be able to seek out Grendag Brightbeard, a Dwarf of Many Talents, and purchase a Dual Talent Specialization for 50 gold. This will allow you to switch freely between two Talent loadouts without having to pay for a talent point reset.
With the flexibility of Runes being swappable at any time, this will make it a lot easier for players to flex between two different roles - or perhaps two different damage profiles for DPS classes.

Retail 2.0 as it was predicted.

If you don't like it go play classic era. Nobody forced you to play SoD. And I am saying it , classic+ will be retail 2.0
I honestly dont understand the complaints. Retail would still be pretty awesome if they didnt have lfg stuff. Thats what ruined the game. Dual spec and interesting abilities were never the problem

Oh wow, only 50g? Dang, Blizz is being generous. I was expecting 500g or more!
I feel like unlocking something as optional but massive QoL improvement as dual spec should be locked behind a massive gold sync.
its a sink, its a sink...

Retail is awsome as it is. I am a big retail player but sometimes I play classic as well. Retail is great , lfg is not a problem at all. You still need a guild or a group to do high m+ and mythic raiding. Don't follow people like asmon about retail.

Happy to see it, but I can't help but feel we'll just end up seeing paladins with 2 Ret specs and warriors with 2 DPS specs lmao
it won't fix the tank/healer issue, but it
definitely
helps. thanks, Blizz
Of course we will, but those people are the kind of people that will want to roll on DPS gear anyway, so it's not a huge deal. This alleviates the problem a lot, and that's enough.

50g does seem a little steep once you take into account several alts....

Why does it need to cost gold, so sick of these gold sinks that make people buy gold.
Bro, you get like 12 gold for turning in a supply crate. You can afford 50g.

True, but keep in mind the mats usually cost almost as much as that.

The tank issue for warriors and ret is literally solved with runes existing. It's not hard to get and maintain aggro with rune swaps even without spec changing. Granted, paladin's a LITTLE more unpleasant without consec being baseline, but you can run AS for AOE, and you don't need either for ST. Warriors are even easier. The only real annoyance is gearing for it as opposed to DPS, but people should have had 2+ sets anyway.
