Reading through these posts and constantly seeing 'rose colored glasses'You don't know how people think so stop assuming thingsJay Wilson was saying the same thing about Diablo II...Look where that went, he got pulled from the Diablo III team because of all the hate he got in response
I do not understand why some people are fighting against the classic server. Keep playing normal blizz servers and do not bother. The classic server will be for people like me who play wow through the rpg experience that simply disappeared from the current wow. They ended up with professions, everything was very easy, ridiculous leveling, you do not have to go to an instructor to train skills, etc. That is, they made a game where everything is very easy to play and removed the depth of immersion in an RPG game. I play at Elysium vanilla server and the experience is wonderful. Who does not want to, do not play classic and do not bother. Go to hell
I can't wait to play the class server.Hope players don't need to spend additional money on the class server.I still remember those days, I farm Nostro's Compendium of Dragon Slaying all day at dire maul for my warrior and the quest for Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers.
I am hoping that they keep things very much the same, I always hated the nerfing of quests and mobs. But I am hopeful that they will incorporate the unused areas into this classic server. There is an instance portal in stormwind that was never used...all the areas guarded by elite dragonkin, I can think of at least two, one in the hinterlands and one in wetlands...there might have been one in ashenvale too....anyway those areas can be extra content that would make the classic wow even better than vanilla. Any thoughts?
Adding more content would be awesome, using the forgotten areas like the elven glade in duskwood, or the areas guarded by the elite dragonkin in ashenvale, hinterlands and wetlands. This would give classic wow gamers more reason to play and new content to explore.
I'm okay with none of the current features and just having a vanilla style server. Actually, Burning Crusade was the peak experience for me. Lich King was okay, but I sensed a decline as the game seemed to be moving toward an "occupation game" instead of a fun game. Currently I feel like the game is work with the way professions, Order Halls, and reputation now work. Even Burning Crusade started down this "occupation" route, but it wasn't so bad compared to what you received (great new content and Blood Elves and Draenei). They should put up three classic servers: Vanilla, Burning Crusade, and Lich King. The other expansions would be a waste of time in my opinion.
please at least give the option, blizz
I don't want to be able to see another players' talents. I don't want armory links. Many don't either. I don't want to see UBRS 5 man. It wasn't vanilla. This was a lead-up content to BC release and in regard to that, pre-BC talents would suck. Blessed resil was OP and so was Felguard. That talent tree would wreck vanilla completely. I'd love old models, I don't like the new ones. Some are good, but there's a few things changed that I hate. My female troll looks really bad and her running animation is just awful. So is female orc. The are both running in jello.Anyway, I'm hoping to see AQ event, Naxx event and all taht good stuff. People may drop out here and there, but they will surely sub again to see AQ gate event, DM event, Silithus opening... The scourge invasion event. I just can't wait to get back and farm the elemental invasions on the weekly. I can't wait to grief allied raids doing Azuregos...Slipping any modern stuff in will completely ruin the experience for me and quite a few friends. Just have to ask the obvious question; why did they leave in the first place? Everyone got BC but they certainly didn't hang around long. Going from 40 to 10s was a mistake. It was needed, but it was a mistake. We'll all come back to be with friends, do huge raids and fall over eachother drunk in Molten Core...I really do hope Blizzard keep their eyes on the ball and resist the urge to appeal to the current brats of today's game. If they don't like it, they have current content to suck at. Leave vanilla to the monsters who would grind silithus all day for a blue summon boss reward. Releasing it all at once will be a mistake. It will have to come in patches. No one will miss out, because new servers will come online, that's a given. For once appeal to the original supporters of the game and not the current ones. Most will have no idea what to expect and will likely think Naxx will be a 2% affair or some such garbage. No. Players like me will teach and run Naxx like crazy. I will def. be leading a 40 man guild again, it's expected.
