Difficulty is relative to the time it's out. Retail quite literally hands out epics, that's not a false claim.Retail Vanilla was hard at the time for people. People like to mention PCs, but it's not just the software lag, it's literally people new to this kind of game, cooperative content on the scale of 40 people, and a ton of other aspects.Comparing the difficulty of original Vanilla and Classic is ridiculous to say the least. It's not comparable, and they were never going to be the same as one another. And just to add on, while there are definitely players and guilds that cream through a ton of this content, there are a ton of guilds and players on every server, in every region, that will never clear AQ. It's just the same in retail. Some people will never clear normal mode Nyalotha. To some that seems ridiculous, but it's not. The game had to evolve and get more challenging, not just because of muh pc spec, but because of the player base itself, and gaming in general evolving. Vanilla had it's difficulties, and it was not simply bad PCs and lack of 40 man guilds.
One of my favorite parts about World of Warcraft (both Classic and Retail) is that it's whatever game you want it to be. Want to spend hundreds of gold in consumables and down a dragon with three folks? Do it. Want to collect all the pets or recipes? Go for it. Want to role play? Or PVP? Or just make gold in the auction house? Feel free. While people may complain that it's not as hard as other games, I play it because I can do what I want (alone or with friends) without spending a ton of money.I've seen some comments about what Wowhead articles focus on. I'd love to see more articles on other ways people are enjoying the game creatively (not just raid-related).
What do you mean it wasn't hard? Do you realize that people have 15 years of experience now and they know how every boss/class/spec work before they even get there? The lack of information, good PCs and no experience made it hard. It's like saying the invention of the first computer was not hard because now we have mobile phones 100000 times better than the first computer.
To let people know even more how easy classic really is, and to trigger classic andys
Props but wowhead....stop calling every little thing done a world first please thanks
They are not the world 1st . Some people from China have finished it in May.
Eventually we'll have a Hunter + Paladin duo it.
And now to imagine how 40 people were wiping repeatedly on Onyxia both in Vanilla and Classic clearly states how bad players were in Vanilla and how low skillcap does it take now even play Classic and wipe on it. But hey It's fun that matters if we gonna brush away that salt and aim the perspective of the positive side towards to the game.
