On Friday, March 19, 2021, two players on Netherwind were able to bring down Onyxia in a 57 minute long encounter.
We've seen a 53.9 Second kill of Onyxia by 32 Warriors
,
an entirely naked raid killing Onyxia
,
a three man Alliance squad kill in 46 minutes
, and
a three man Horde kill in 41 minutes
, this is the first time we've seen two players bring down the daughter of Deathwing!
The entire encounter is saved as the above Twitch VOD, showing how both the Warrior Gendisarray and the Priest Shiftus were able to accomplish this incredible feat! The encounter is also logged on Warcraft Logs, where you can see a full breakdown of gear, consumables cast during the encounter, as well as damage dealt from various abilities.

Not sure why my comment was removed. It was entirely relevant to the subject given that I was talking about the subject of this article and people's responses to it.
I'm responding to all the people dismissing this accomplishment. I have no idea why so many people are treating this like it isn't worthy of note. When's the last time anybody here duo'd Onyxia (in Classic)?
Probably because this isn't what some of us might consider an "accomplishment".
Onyxia is a p1 mob. Fighting it in late p6 in Naxx gear means absolutely nothing in the context (context being that barely anyone even bothers running onyxia anymore and when they do, it's either to sell the head (buff) or to get/sell bags). Onyxia's relevance disappeared at some point between BWL and AQ40 - arguably people were still running it to get the axe/sword for their 5th alt or whatever.
It would be an accomplishment in "current gear" - as in, t1 gear at best - and without world buffs that didn't even exist in p1. That would be interesting.
There's also the fact that it's completely pointless to "duo" it - other than showing that you're willing to blow 200-1000g (depending on realm prices) on consumables AND to fight for one hour to get absolutely nothing useful/relevant. Clearly the t2 helms and/or the bags are largely pointless/irrelevant at this point. The entire thing matters as much as me riding to Elwynn and killing Hogger at 60 in Naxx gear, but at least I'd waste less time in that scenario.
This entire "bUt iT hAsN't bEeN dOnE bEfOrE" thing is ... weird. I don't know whether it has or hasn't been done before, but if it hasn't, I can tell you why:
1. Because there's literally no reason to do it. You stand to waste one hour and gain nothing (in fact, you lose gold by doing it). On alliance, you get a geared warrior and a priest (for fear ward, otherwise a paladin might arguably be better) and that's it. The warrior kills stuff, the priest wands and regens and uses his cheapest/most effective healing spells; if he's got too much mana, maybe keep up the dot (pain). That's it.
2. Because it wasn't nerfed "back in the day" - Onyxia use to flame breathe much more often...and there was another issue regarding fireballs, but let's not get too technical.
Hopefully this explains the raised eyebrows. I didn't watch the entire video, I skipped through it to see whether there was anything unusual going on in p2. Other than that, it was boring and useless and I wouldn't be willing to waste one hour of my life watching the whole thing. It's basically a tutorial on how to spend 1000g (well, it depends on the price of those consumables on that specific realm at this time) to make a huge net loss. Thanks, I guess, but I don't even need to leave the capital city to do that - I can just trade the gold directly to some level 1s near the mailbox and save myself the headache.
"Watch this 56m video to see how two daring employees bribed their mentally impaired manager in order to get a pay cut". Erm...OK....I guess...? I wonder if that has been done before? If not, perhaps it would be considered quite an accomplishment?
For some reason, this comes to mind
