Well I mean yeah, why not !As long as it is not overpowered or completely useless, it's always good to have more options to level alts :)
My guess is it's for the "stars/skulls" system they're seemingly doing, so you can track your progress for getting the higher "scores" on the floor.
Ion mentioned it as something worth thinking about. Hopefully it's real. And if we were able to earn soul ash from level 50 on, it would be an absolute dream!
yes could be nice if they added mogs and some starting gear as well
I actually would dig this, I recently got back into doing Torghast with my main and started doing alts for the fun of it, I would love this option for levelling!
I'd level in it, exclusively: nah. But I like it when they give me more options to acquire XP. As an altoholic it is more interesting to mix it up in various ways.
Honestly being able to solo spam Torghast as opposed to dungeon spamming sounds amazing - ESPECIALLY if it were to work with threads of fate with soul ash catch up.Really, really cool stuff. Happy to see them developing things that aren't just endgame.
During Thread of Fate, they should allow us to go there and make it so that the daily quest in Torghast give X amount of rested XP
Opening torghast at 50 and allowing people to just level whilst also having fun with it would definitely be a plus for Torghast! Nice work Blizzard! Now all we need is auto looting for phantasma and some minor rewards for finishing a layer you already did that week!
I would absolutely love the option to just grind levels in Torghast. Threads and storyline is so abysmally boring but I might actually have motive to both level my lvl 50's AND run Torghast. I really like Torghast but I feel absolutely no need to run it -- spamming it to level alts would be excellent.
Sure. We were able to get XP in Torghast in the beta. It was very motivating, even though beta XP is temp.
Sure empty out the world by sending people into instances... makes sense. Also a geared char can get 50-60 in under 4 hours and a boosted char with absolute @#$% gear gets it in 5-5 1/2 hours... I really don't see much point considering how fast 50-60 is already, but as long as it doesn't replace proper leveling I'm fine with it.
It's not about how quickly and how efficient it is over the standard method but instead about having some modicum of fun whilst leveling. Also people spamming dungeons from 50-60 are also spending time in instances, and just like dungeons you can do torghast in a group.
Yes, I want to level up in Torghast, I want it to have n layers / difficulty levels. I hope that with the new ranking system we will get chalange mods and seasonal rewards from Torghast ^ {+ ^ and finally we will have reasons to spend the whole days there as promised on blizzcon ^^ and not 7 minutes for 570 ashes ;>>
would be ok as a leveling option for those opting for threads of fate. you STILL have to finish the story questline otherwise which puts you easily at 60 prior to finishing so all things considered, you'd be doing MORE work if you opt to level in torghast.
This sounds like a good idea on paper but in practice I don't think Torghast would make good leveling content. It would basically be either a long, big mob farm or people would speed run to the end of the floor for a burst of completion exp. People would use/avoid it based purely on it's leveling efficiency rather than because they want to level by climbing floors in the tower. If it's efficient people will run it. If it's inefficient people will question why it exists as an option and avoid it.Not to mention the complicated side effects for players, when they experience the totality of their SL leveling experience with Anima powers then to encounter the reality that the majority of their gameplay in SL (Outside Torghast) doesn't have those powers present. If you leveled a Shaman through Torghast and had a great experience being a Shaman with your Elemental running around with you the whole time you are going to have less fun outside of Torghast where that doesn't happen. Torghast is fun because it lets you do stuff like that; broken, OP, powerful feeling stuff you don't get to experience in an environment where game balance needs to matter. When that is your leveling experience-- as a first experience for a new class, unfamiliar alt, or as a returning player --everything else runs the risk of feeling boring or weak once you are outside the tower and engaged with the rest of the game sans the Anima powers that intentionally break the standard power curve.
Assuming it rewards leveling gear like islands in BFA, sure, why not do this? It's another option, options are good. Could be added pretty easily to threads of fate. That said, my guess is this isn't player experience, but their new way of scoring Torghast runs in 9.1.
