hahaha, all these problems are self-made anyway. So, nobody care about how hard it is for WF guilds. The rest of the player base alread have to deal with the consequences of the devs trying to keep up with this business. Raids getting harder and requiring tons of auras to even stand a chance, systems designed to screw the top 1%, etc. that end up only screwing the normal players (Legion legendary drop caps, covenant choice, etc. you name it).And the thing between east and west is that the games are made exactly for that on eastern cultures. Western games were not made with the intent of everything to be buyable (at least not until recent times, which is still not even close to what happens over there). That's why the cultures are diferent and why we usually don't like the mobile/p2w games style here.
Was this the guild that pretty much put RWF on Streaming?Like, they got SO MANY views on Chinese Twitch that it got the attention of many RWF guilds seeing dollar signs and they started streaming the Race to World First
Blizzard changes of late made world first races more like a money spending for gear with endless splits competition , rather than the competition itself , alongside overtuned bosses bloated with mechanics and private auras on top of it , turning world first in to quite tedious and overly challenging competition for everyone. These days gear can be traded left and right all the time as long as you have the gold to spend , alongside guilds prioritizing specific dps classes for first pieces of gear due to their better interaction with Aug Evokers or PI's making quite the controversy among guild members , alongside leaving healers and tanks without gear , forcing them to gear by M+ mainly where the first weeks are cancer to heal/tank , loot system that is completely broken and they never fixed nor did as they promissed , legendaries costing hundreds of thousands of gold instead of getting them for free , crafted gear for which you spend a lot of gold and at some point you are forced to either get gold via tokens , participate in a boost or spend a lot of time farming/crafting and selling stuff left and right to make some gold... The game is going in to a dark place and i hope some of those changes are reverted to how it was in a more simpler times.
They should've retired when they lost their servers
Blizz attempting to once again partner with Netease is news I hadn't heard yet. After they publicly wrecked that Blizzard statue... I have no idea how you would engage with that company again. But China is a huge market. If this is the only way Blizz gets back in it, I can see why they would crawl back. It's just disappointing that they didn't go with some other company. I don't really like Netease as a company. So, in the end, them getting what they wanted is kinda sour.
Good choice considering this overtuned mythic raiding is such a waste of time.
Interesting read. Not as interested about Skyline as much as the RMT/cultural differences angle. What I'm learning is that I would enjoy the WoW servers more if Blizzard used their brain and region locked servers more to avoid conflicts and social friction. For anyone who already knew about that cultural conflict stuff, It was obvious combining them one on serverset after CN shutdown was a terrible idea, a guaranteed awful experience for everyone. Imagine moving to a server where there is a literal racial conflict going on, where you might get report brigaded for using the wrong type of chinese characters in your text, where any form of abuse/griefing is just seen as part of a social movement as long as it's done to "the other guys". Can't really blame Skyline for sitting down in a climate like that, once you really think about it.
Thought all the TW guilds got mega banned for massive RMT lmfao.
Good luck to them but considering the effect the RWF has on the game I hope more will follow.
Welcome to the club, this raid tier killed off so many guilds. Blizzard never learns. Making 3 bosses in a row that are all completely overtuned into next week is not fun content, it's terrible and leaves everyone mad at each other and tears guilds apart.
Who are the raids getting harder for? Is that really something ANYONE wants? They are very cool, and the races are often very fun to watch, but do they really have to go over a weekly reset (which seems to be the goal because if it doesn't, the raid is "easy" for the teams and "boring" for the viewers).
I watch my sporty-WoW to see it enthuse and enliven the players who make these massive kills. There's little question the fights begin anywhere from Way Overtuned to Impossible Because Of Bugs Also and these racers to first are the people who find every single scrap of it in a way that no corporate marketer can weasel out of by claiming it's some one-off or the customer's computer only. The life cycle of game at the middle range raiding also depends on these racers because everything that was bleeding sponsored, uplifted by a community of massive gear, sung the songs of heroes IRL raiders - absolutely must be nerfed or people with merely a good chair and some hours to burn just can't do it. They ARE the big reveal, and listened to like the PTR never can be.I see they care about the health of their people, not just the ka-ching of coin, and my heart goes out to them.Lag kills.Be well
This is a really great article. I love learning about how other cultures view things so differently.
Good read, thanks for taking the time to bring the news and back story to us. Wish these gamers the best
