This sounds like extremely unfun system. Glad I haven't bothered with it.
Somehow the most important source of Medallion of Services is missing: The adventure table.I have over 4000 of them and did not really bother with collecting them (or doing that whole path thing as my whole first impression of it seems to be right: A convoluted and overly complex unfun and unrewarding activity).
Post was made 8 minutes ago and you managed to read it all before you commented? "Thats sounds like a low-effort comment, glad you made so much effort to it"
I agree, this sounds confusing and so not fun. Ironically its the only covenant that I don't have a toon in.I'm so not a person that wants everything to easy and handed to me, but I do want to do stuff that I find fun even if it takes some time (just not a ridiculous amount). Shout out to folks that find this system fun tho!
I haven't touched it since like week 3.
Thanks for this article, the Path is a nice feature but it really breaks motivation as it's so much harder than the other covenant features, with high skill cap, and relies on bugs for many fights. I only went to 8/9 pieces on the first set in Humility before dropping the covenant for another. Maybe if Blizzard decides to tune it better I'll give it another try...
I didn't bother after a certain point. There's no sense of urgency (it's not going away) or sense of accomplishment (it's unlikely that anyone will even recognize how brutal getting the other tints for your armor can be as Kyrian), so I figured they'd turn around and nerf it into the ground after a few patches. Or it'd be a Garrison Invasion scenario where, because of a higher level cap, it becomes a joke inevitably as the game progresses."It could've been fun" is a motto for a lot of Blizzard's attempts at a new style of content, sadly :(
9.1 really broke the Path even more. It is a fun system in general and I really like vehicle fights but this ... I doubt the Devs played it themselves. I did achieved "Master of the Path" but "Disciple of Humility" is absolutely unmanageable especially with Mikanikos due to the bug that you can't attack due to the lag of energy from Bron and Bron only gets energy when he gets attacked - find the Mistake.
I tried and…I thought it was time consuming and not entertaining so I stick to the seeds in arden. If they make it fun (I don’t think so) I’ll give it another chance
I know everyone who's in the Kyrian covenant has a different opinion on Path of Ascension (PoA). I tried PoA on the Shadowlands Beta back when the bosses were super overtuned, so its nice to see they fixed it somewhat early onto the release. Even with the tuning I'm still not a fan of the system and personally these are the reasons I dislike PoA:
Ember Court is way more fun.
I remember trying and trying to give feedback on this during beta until I eventually gave up since it was so buggy that even the most persistent tester eventually felt like an idiot wasting their time.
I really like the idea of Path of Ascention but all the bugs and difficulty made it frustrating.I really want the transmog from Disciple of Humility. I won most fights (but had to use bugs to do some of them), but now I'm stuck on last three fights with Kleia and don't think I'll do it untill it's made beatable.
I was kind of interested in it to begin with because who doesn't wanna play as a Steward but yeah, outside of a couple of semi-interesting fights it's just not a lot of fun. Grinding up currency to run it and make charms needed to win isn't fun either and the tuning is ridiculous. It feels like a lot of them were designed for Pelagos and then never touched afterwards. Oh and I thought maybe I was having some kind of lag issue or something (I'm in the UK playing on US servers) when I tried the Footpads and nothing happened, nice to know it's not just me.
I've got characters in each covenant and they are all almost done with each covenant specific feature. Kyrian is the only one that I am honestly not sure I will be able to do :( It's ridiculously difficult at the end and thought they were supposed to be more "fun" rather than something you have to actually sit at for hours. I spent at least 4 hours on 1 fight and that wasn't even on the hardest setting- just Wisdom difficulty lol Humility terrifies me :D
in fairness to the Ember Court, that gets easier the more you unlock and the more you do it. Since the more you do it, the more you learn what gets certain things higher (like doing the tea party and the event where you have three tea-related vehicle buttons (I forget the name of the event) gives you a TON of "relaxing" points). Also, I think the better friends you are with your guests, the less points you need to get them to "elated"(take this from someone who has been doing Ember Court since near the start of the expac.)
I'm glad someone found this fun, because to me this was such an utter waste of time that after setting it up on one alt, I never bothered to do it on others.
It sounds like someone designed and implemented it but no one at headquarters actually tried to play through it even once. To be honest that sounds like a lot of things in this expansion.
