They need to balance the troops and maybe nerf some of the outlying heroes like Dreamweaver that are way too op. I'm wondering if they even care enough to really look at this though because Ion pretty much brushed it aside in the interview. What he said is not true though, Kyrian continue to perform poorly even when they have all the heroes unlocked.
Wait what? All my troops are 22 and I cant finish a lvl 20 soul ash quest to save my life! Night Fae isn't "complete faceroll", lol.
Night fae dpsover 800 HP, hit all target, and every target hit does reduced 20% damage, additive (meaning if you have 4 of them, enemy damage reduced by 80%)Kyrian dps, single target, no debuffs, like 490 hp and die if sneazed on since enemies obviously aren't having damage reduced by 80%Night fae healer vs kyrian tankTank damage reduction is pitiful 10% that is NOT additive if you use more than one. They barely have more hit points than the night fae DPS do.Night fae healers are very strong. Allows them to overcome battles even wen enemies have more than double the HP because they keep your guys alive. Now lets talk about main followers.dreamweaver is plain god like.Kyrian has nothing of sort, in fact they don't even have any good followers at all :D
As a Venthyr, I've been experiencing some of those issues with the advanced quests. Most of my core adventurers are 27-30, and I'm having issues with a fair amount of the campaign/rare/etc. quests, even ones that are lower level than my troops are.
I don't see how they screwed this up. Troops should never be different power sets, give all troops the same abilities, just different icons.
Venture Plan is not a good add-on for the Adventure Missions. Get Garrison Mission Manager's alpha release, which gives an actual rating for success chance (based on each sides total HP and Damage per round) and updates as you swap champions in and out.Currently, no add-on takes special abilities into consideration.
My husband (Night Fae) has gotten pets and all sort of cool stuff, while I (Venthyr) struggle to do missions at the same level. I'm tired of only doing XP and low anima quests.
Troops don't use average level. They use median, i.e. the level of the follower in the middle of a list ordered by level. Average of the two middle followers if you have an even number. The impact of getting more followers on your troop level should be very limited by now if you've been keeping up.
I'm really hoping we see some kind of balancing pass on this soon. It's frustrating as a Kyrian player having companions who are ~32-33 and can't beat the lvl 24 campaign missions. Our troops are absolutely abysmal, and none of our companions are all that good. The disparity between the covenants really needs to be addressed, and soon.
Just a small comment on the "he'll be lvl 1 so it will take a long time to even get him up to lvl 20-30" part of the main post - As a someone who's pretty far ahead on the adventure table atm, I can atleast say leveling up new champions goes VERY fast if you just put them on exp missions every 3-4hrs (and/or ones that take 8-10hrs, for whenever you log off). These missions are usually much easier than others of their level, so even at max level with lots of progress on your table, I imagine it won't be too difficult to sneak a lvl 1 into the mix as long as you put some high lvl champions/troops to help it out, and after 1-2 missions it'll probably be high enough level to survive more reliably.
I'm glad it wasn't just me. Yeah Kyrian seem incredibly gimped, their troops are just awful. I've had more luck stacking the tanks even though their abilities aren't additive like night fae because their DPS are just... not great.
Thanks for this Article! Someone had to write this down! Only confusing that Blizz not give a sgl fu*% about this unbalanced system
no anima left to upgrade bastion. its all consumed by healing minions
Mission table stuff isn't fun. Hopefully soon all my companions will be max level and I someone will release an addon to automate the whole thing
Even if Blizzard agreed, not much is going to change during holidays, or even a week or two after. We're stuck with this for quite a while.
