It's interesting how he says "players are evolving..." yet the highest subscriber count in the last 10 years was when WoW classic was released. It seems to me the players are not evolving, but the games are and the players don't want those games.
they need to bring all the old content back.Artifacts (and their powers).Legendary gear from previous expansions.Set bonusses from older gearThe flying system restored to what it was till pandaria, no more hiding behind the excuse: we implented them so peaple would enjoy the graphics and world we crafted for them, most gamers grind dungeons till max level and then mythics for the best gear, skipping the world itself altoghetter anyways.personaly i stopped gaming seriously after legion. spending months and months gaining artifact power so i could adjust them to my likings, only to see it being taken away. and i think thats why alot of players left. noone enjoys things being taken away after spending so much time and effort into them
Dunno i guess people just plays WoW wrong. We started to play WoW as we were young and had alot of more time to play. Mmorpg as a Genre isnt a top title for the New GEN They all play mobile games some pubg titles animal crossing whatsoever and simping OF instead of playing true games like we old$%^s did :DTho i never hated any WoW addon like you guys didClassic tbc lich King cata draenor Legion bfa shadowlands dragonflight i loved them all.Perhaps its cuz i only have 24k achievement points haha
I don't think I will have any influence on existing "problems" that the developers have found, but I find the point "setting of afterlife not accessible" somewhat inappropriate and vague. For me, Shadowlands was an exciting expansion because it was all about afterlife, so at the beginning I looked forward to the expansion and wanted to know what I could expect. Of course, looking back at previous expansions, I already had characters in mind that I wanted to meet again and even got some that I hadn't expected at all, like Ysera. From a design perspective, I was not disappointed as the expansion offered a lot of variety and seemed to do so in the characters, mounts and stories. It felt like the developers were breaking away from the previous themes and trying out some crazier designs. There was also a Covenant for almost every flavour, which added to this theme, and the Jailer seemed really menacing at the start, so I was looking forward to going up against him.But shortly afterwards, my problems began. First no new content for a long time, then a new raid where my raidlead said that everyone had to switch to the covenant where the ability was the best and then farm weeklys to collect all the desired covenant content. In addition, the story became increasingly convoluted, so that after the breaks between patches I always had to remind myself where I was in which story with whom. The Jailer came across as threatening for a while, but in the end he was meaningless. I nodded in acceptance of his warning and wondered what he meant. To me, it seemed more as if he was the boss of an earlier raid in the addon and was supposed to point out an upcoming patch. At least I didn't understand it as a warning for Dragonflight, but even there I would miss a meaningful link.So the big problem for me was that you were offered a lot, but above all you had to wait forever for new things. The linear villain was a nice motivation at the beginning, but later it was stupidly implemented. So I really see the story and the little content that you had to wait too long for as the big problem. But that's just my opinion.
No surprise they acknowledge Shadowlands being a massive L, the franchise saved by both TBC and Wrath Classic and Classic carrying hard after the BFA fiasco. On the other hand, Dragonflight is doing pretty good, that's a very good expansion after 4-5 years of mediocrity in Retail.
I still dont understand after so long that the final patch doesnt lead to the next expansion in the same cadence as the rest of the expansion.Like you get content every 6 months, you need 2 years between expansions, then you design FOUR major patches.
Dudes just get rid of the @#$%ing sub fee. I have a ton of friends who want to get into the game but want nothing to do with paying a monthly fee on top of paying for expansions.
