Another horrible decision by incompetent Blizzard developers. Also they are straight up lying that adding camera zoom or FOV option requires a lot of work...
I don’t recall other ARPGs having zoom out for fov. Why are people are so mad about this ONLY with D4?
Another classic move from Blizzard, just like in Shadowlands. I think the main reason they don't want people to zoom out is so their player model is more zoomed in and can see the cosmetics. After all this game has some of the most disgusting prices for cosmetics...which gets promoted by wowhead as well.So if we zoom out, it gets less value. Saying there is a technical issue has got to be the most dumbest thing Blizzard has said....unless the FoV is tied to the stash items...you know...Blizzard coding.
Zoom out is one thing. I hade the bug at world bosses where as camera zoom in to much and all I saw was like the bosses legs and no option too zoom out again during the entire boss battle.
Did they ever end up giving updates on adding a map overlay? Still confuses me how it launched without one. For a lot of people, myself included, it's just so much more enjoyable to navigate with one in these types of games compared to a minimap. Top down arpgs. How I was getting around D4 while playing for a bit in S1 was just either having my attention split between my character and glances at the minimap which was kinda exhausting when navigating a new unfamiliar area of the game to have to keep splitting attention between character and minimap in the corner of the screen. Or I would just be constantly blocking my view with the full map. Which was less draining because I didn't have to keep shifting my focus from center screen to corner back to center. But the view blocking is less than desirable. I just want a semi transparent map overlay like other games have. I wonder, why is an option like that so hard to do?On another note; Leaderboards. rofl. That taking over 1/2 a year after launch is terrible. Pretty much as soon as D4 launched you had people saying "come back in a year when they finish making the game" and I sorta wrote it off as nonsense or undue hate. But comparing D4's current condition to it's launch condition ... it's a lot truer than I'd wanted to believe. So much was missing from the game on launch and it's like, even now, they are still playing catch up regarding issues/problems players were pointing out in open beta back in March 2023. I really like the Diablo franchise but this just isn't a great game when compared with competitors in the space and that makes me sad.
you know that it's kind of hard to add a world of warcraft perspective mode to a game that is based in top down gameplay they should have had the idea based on what they've made from the start but it's kind of demanding at this stage to develop and integrate different cam angles to this game although they should have conceptualized that earlier looking at how the game plays
Kind of a bummer. D4 fell flat with me for a lot of reasons and FOV was definitely one of them. Here's hoping they come around eventually.
what's wrong with the FoV? idk about others but i have no issues w/ it
the FOV is tuned for TVs. It feels awful on PC.
