People actually believed this?
Never figured the gear that dropped worked this way, but the stats on the gear surely do to some extent. When I was leveling my rogue preseason, if i was spec'd into frozen imbue and other cold based skills, gear would drop with a lot of +chill/frozen rolls. When I would swap off cold based talents I saw a drastic decrease in the cold damage rolls.
Why would we trust blizzard on this? Them simply saying it doesn't affect drops is not enough, they must provide proofs...
I don't believe him. I had 6 uniques at level 89. I cleared out my stash completely, not even gems in it.In the last 2 days, I've gotten over 20 uniques going from 89 to 91. I suspect he is lying while they fix this internally, hoping people won't abuse this.Exploit early, exploit often.
Well I also had my weapons drop 819 right after wt4 and never seen one that high again.
I'm more interested that they specifically said "Drop rates are not affected by items you have in your stash or inventory." instead of saying something more generic like, drop rates are not affected by anything and are totally random. By being so specific, its totally possible, even probable, that drop rates ARE affected by something else like equipped items, items previously salvages/sold, items equipped on other players, etc.
"This isn't true. Drop rates are not affected by items you have in your stash or inventory."This debunks nothing. To debunk means to PROVE that the original comment/theory was false. Just because it's a blue post doesn't mean it has inherent proof of anything. No proof was given, so it was not debunked, and the theory still stands as probable if you use logic and PROOF that players have shown. What does a Community Development Director know about the precise programming and formulas used to develop a game? That title literally means "Person in charge of community perception," which loosely translates to "Person who will lie to you to make you feel better about the game." Nowhere in the job title does it say you know enough about the inner workings of the game to have enough confidence to make that comment. People really treat blue posts like they are something special, when many times they are posted by individuals who are not qualified to do so. This dude is an author, not a developer. Don't let the "Development" in the title fool you.
