Jinx!
Not repeating my /rant from YouTube, but I'm disappointed. I've heard rumors that, in Legion, LFR may be going away, and I am sorely disappointed. I never saw raids in BC or WotLK because I do not have a guild that can afford to carry me, nor time to dedicate to progression in that manner. If you honestly think it's "No big deal" to get into normal raids and grind into that every week, then you're being elitist. My opinion. But not everyone can, and I am grateful to LFR for allowing me to even see the content that I never could in previous patches. Sure, I've seen those raids NOW... but as current? Not a chance. And I'll add something else to that: I never advocate, suggest, or support /votekick for anyone in LFR who's pulling "low" dps. Why? Because I don't know them. For all I know it's an amputee, keybinding for all he's worth, playing 'cause it's something he CAN do. For all I know it's someone with CP or MS, and this is an outlet 'cause in a virtual world they're strong. For all I know it's some new mother or father with a newborn (FINALLY) on nap time, and they've been so busy that "gear? WHAT gear?" is the simplest explanation, but at least, for 30 min or an hour, they can have ME time. I do NOT know, and neither do you.Judge me, flame me, argue me, ignore me. I do not really care. But if you don't even try to see things from someone else's point of view, yeah, you're an elitist jerk, too.
I can easily understand your point of view since I share it, but my opinion differs from yours significantly. I am in a PvP guild but I used to raid actively before and want to experience it still. - As Panser said in the Wowhead weekly episode, the purpose of LFR was to give people like us a chance to experience the raids. It is so easy because you can't guarantee that every person will be good enough to keep up their performance with what is needed in the difficulty of pre-nerf normal etc. Gathering people for LFR is out of people's hands so it's automatic with a que and so on, but that kills the player interaction which makes this game great.- With the WoD revamp of the group finder, you can easily group up with other people who do not have guildies with who to raid and raid like that, it is made easier to find them and que up with them. Since Normal now is easier it still provides the easiness which was in LFR so that even weaker players can enjoy but what it adds is the missing player interaction which is now added with the group finder. This is why I believe that interchanging the cold interactions of LFR with the player moderated and recruited Normal raiding would improve people's experience with the game and give it the feel of a community spanning over the realms.
Customs suck. I ordered some stuff with the previous promo code, Sep 14th, according to the tracking it arrived in Germany on the 18th, got a mail on the 26th with some non-trackable "customs declaration number", since then, silence.
Back in MoP when the current Normal raid level was still Flex, the idea was for it to be accessible for friends and family. The mechanics were the same as the regular raid level, they just didn't hit quite as hard. My raid group used it as a secondary raid in which to practice mechanics, train new raiders, or raid with guildies and friends that otherwise had no raid spots. Normal mode has a place in raiding, and that place is introduction to the real mechanics as well as the accessibility for those that might be a little more casual than the regular raiders (ie, coordinated, but a little inexperienced or a little under geared). In all honesty I don't feel that Normal mode raiding has the same degree of accessibility in this expansion. Maybe it is something like having too many mechanics squeezed into too short a time, some of them simply being too unforgiving, or maybe its itemization. I don't know. Blizzard's own comments on the nerfs suggest they realize Normal mode might not be the real entry level raiding experience they were trying to make it.LFR has its own place. That includes who want to see the story line to completion, even if they have neither guild, a regular raid, or even the aspirations to raid at a higher level. Cutting out LFR and trying to replace it with Normal will leave a hole for part of the WoW playing community that seeks content. The same can also be said for removing power up options from LFR itemization, such as items for legendary quests. Those power up options in LFR have been used just as much by regular raiders as they have by players who only run LFR. As it is the creation of a separate tier of gear for LFR in this expansion was the start of a slippery slope. I think LFR has actually gotten worse due to more highly geared/experienced players not going in looking for that elusive set piece/trinket, or even for transmog. The TL;DR version is that removing things can leave a round hole to be filled by a square peg.
Christian side hug? What a gyp. :)
I think in order to make dungeons more relevant again something had to change. I rather see more variety of experiences then same grind weekly.
.
who cares if they Nerf hellfire look how old it is already..i think you just need something to complain about on your 3 min show
im not against on nerf content when it gets old/obsolete. you know WoD is over but im not sure if they have to do the same in next raid.
I would say that LFR is always important regardless of the Hellfire Citadel Nerf because not everyone have the opportunity to get into normal, heroic, or mythic group or raids to experience the content because of the elites raiders and such. I can see where they are going with the nerf such as making the raids or more specific Hellfire Citadel more like stages you work toward as you ease into the different level as such like LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic. the LFG interface is nice but its still hard to get into group to raid. they have to cater to everyone and not a specific group of people because they aren't the only ones who is playing. my personal opinion i find that any level LFR, Normal, Heroic, or Mythic is difficult to complete regardless of how experience some people are.
As someone who runs a casual guild, I love these nerfs. Our core group of skilled raiders end up carrying a lot of others; but we go in and have fun. Most of the old hardcore raiders just don't have time for running 3 nights a week anymore. It especially doesn't help that on our server, there aren't even any guilds running mythics and very few running heroic. So it's nice for us to be able to actually clear more content and bring in people that normally wouldn't have a chance to raid at all, without resorting to the cluster that is LFR. Saying that we don't deserve the loot is pretty elitist ;)
i always loved lfr cause i could see the raids with my twinks AND i can just go one wing if i like. another point ist that with low gear or no curve no ones possibly gonna take u (seen nhc with 695+ requirement). i don't want that back.
Those of you who only do LFR - why have you not tried Normal?I think there is some merit to group making that has been lost over time due to the convenience of queueing. The game used to be a lot more social when you actually had to make an effort to find people to do content with. Now there is no reaosn so no one bothers. If they removed LFR there would be a %^&*ton more Normal groups, I can promise you that. I'd do Normal instead of LFR on all of my alts. Right now there is no point. I can get my ring by being afk in LFR watching a movie instead.
