Kul Tirans lacking mages is pretty self-explanitory...Tidesages are more Priests and Shamans, than Mages. Between the water magic for the Shaman side, and the Old God-influenced shadow magic for the Priest side, that is your reason for no Kul Tiran Mages.Zandalari Paladins... Shirvallah I know people are calling for cause the new Hearthstone expansion's troll heroes has the Troll Paladin under him (which makes sense on Eastern Kingdoms, where Shirvallah is a Gurubashi Loa), but... to make it more relevant to the Loa on Zandalar... Kimbul (who is also a Tiger): He is a loa about honor as well as vengeance. That sounds VERY paladin like to me. And he is also lacking followers... seeing the prelates formerly of Rezan turn to him as a new source of power, as new followers who are not just a handful of Tortollans, would be a sensible storyline. Also, I like the sense of player agency they are giving us with the Saurfang/Sylvannas choice. I've not read into it specifically, but giving us options to play through two different stories, is actually nice. I know it can't be done everywhere, but where it makes sense, let us pick (just don't make it something that impacts things much more down the line, that could not be foreseen, like a fracturing of a faction).
I don’t understand why a blood elf’s skin would turn blue/purple for practicing void magic, but Alleria’s remained pale. More varied skin tones should be an option based on that alone. Not that I’d play one anyway, but more options are always nicer to see than less.
Why aren’t Kul Tiran Humans mages?However...Jaina is a mage and Kul Tiran and “By Golly, The Kul Tiran should be mages as well!"There's a super easy answer to this question why Kul Tiran aren't mages.. Jaina was specifically sent to Dalaran to learn to turn her magic into becoming a mage by the non-Kul Tiran humans. So it's solely due to Jaina's training at Dalaran how she became a proper mage, without the training from Dalaran, her magic would just be random, uncontrolled, and not channeled or formed into mage specific spells.
This was exactly the interview I was looking for on the virtual ticket. So grateful that Lost Codex stepped up and made this happen. Excellent interview, but the questions and the responses.
Jaina could just teach kul tiran humans
I definitely think Kul Tirans should have Mages, and if some of their casting animations end up looking a little goofy, so be it.It's really less because of Jaina specifically, and more that, as you travel Kul Tiras, you find Kul Tiran Mages from time to time. Both the Irontide Pirates and the Ashvane Company are Kul Tiran-specific groups that both employ mages. One of the bosses in Tol Dagor is even a Kul Tiran Fire Mage. Sure they don't really have a strong cultural affiliation with Mages, and there's a reason Jaina was sent to Dalaran, but plenty of class choices are based on much weaker justifications.
~Kul Tirans can't be humans~but Zandalari can be warlocks?~Even tho Zand never had run-ins with the legion~While one of the most influential characters in the franchise is a KT mage~And Zand have 2 extra classes that they can play, compared to KT~Fix it blizz
I mean, they had to ship Jaina off to the jedi training camp in Hillsbrad/Alterac, but I certainly wouldn't complain if another race can be mages. (It IS a little weird that Kul'Tirans wouldn't get it)Also I read KT as Kel'thuzad every time and it's made this BlizzCon slightly confusing.
I'm not sure what the Lost Codex bit means, so I can't really comment on that, but the spell casting animation part is a little ridiculous. Especially when they already HAVE casters in priests and shaman. Not only that, but aside from Jaina there are at least two Kul Tiran mage characters in-game, while not necessarily lore characters. There's a rare (whose name escapes me, he appears in the eastern part of Tiragarde Sound) who is clearly a Kul Tiran fire mage, and one of the bosses in the upcoming raid is even a KT mage. It seems ridiculous to leave them out as a class when there's clearly evidence that several of them exist.
Alex Afrasiabi is the coolest Dev!
Man am I glad Wrathion won't be around to harass anyone?
Sethrak allied race should really be a thing.
I don't know if I'd want the Sethrak as an Alliance race, especially considering how little the Alliance actually works with them in that zone. There would have ot be more story there in later patches that forcethe Sethrak to forsake the Horde to go blue. Vulpera is the same way, since they share models with the Goblins, it would put that model skeleton on the Alliance side (like Void Elves giving the Alliance BElf models and Nightborne giving the Horde NElf models), but there would have be a HUGE reason for that to happen, especially considering the caravan stuff that happens in the next portion of the War Campaign. We'll have to wait and see.I get why KT can't be mages, but I was really hoping for Paladins. I just want to put one of those big human models in some Pally gear. XD
Given the superstitious angle they pushed with the Kul Tirans, no mages make sense. They should have gotten Death Knight in exchange though, for the same reason Gilneans/Worgen got it. Most importantly though, is that I still can't make a Worgen Monk. Arguably one of the most hand-to-hand races(they're Werewolves, come on), can't play the class.
