legendary was fun until community actually ruined iti can understand a concept of a item (like title and mount fo the scarab lord) that's a reward for extreme cooperation and power of a guild/team. So when you see someone with such legendary in ogri/sw you think "wow that guy must be really a pro"Nowadays, its deranged and rampart minmaxing culture. Legendary could be on par with epic to fix it, but then it's not "special" anymore, just colored purple. If you make legendary stronger than any other avaible item in that slot - people start to consider it mandatory to perform, and those without it will cry until end of times, that their performance is lower/they cannot parse because rng wasn't on their side. Just like glaives in tbc, shadowmourne in wotlk and axe on retail.Lower requirements for legendary? one crowd will cry about legendary being just a common item everyone can get(ashbringer in legion)Make legendary rare or rng based? crowd will cry that they're underperforming/losing prio/cannot parse(glaives)Make legendary hard to get, require lengthy questline and teamwork when doing hard content? casual crowd will cry about legendary being gated behind unhealthy grind only "nerds" can do(scarab lord)Make somewhat balanced legendary? Then we start a drama who has prio, and then even bigger cry how blizzard is gating items behind timegate(shadowmourne)Legendary is RNG crafting but with bad luck protection? crowd cries about not getting the item fast enough(retail axe)there's no good solution, there will be always somewhat loud crowd that will dislike how you can get legendary. When playing games and then returning to wow it really starts to look like some disease or fanatical attention to everything to minmax the ^&*! out of the game and you can be only either pro player or a %^&*ter - nothing between

In case of Sulfuras, the smart thing would be to introduce 4 other craftable Sulfuron maces: 1h for casting, healing, tanking and DPSing. All of which can be combined with Eye of Sulfuras to create a legendary. And yes I am aware healing mages cant use maces so to complement this design I'd suggest letting them learn maces weapon skill as well.
Can they just stop focusing on raids?Vanilla is not about raids.Barely anyone raided in original vanilla and enjoyed the game.No one plays vanilla to raid, it has the worst raids in any version of WoW.Vanilla WoW is about the journey, dungeons, and the open world.The people who only want to raid have 2 other versions of WoW(CAT classic and retail) to play.Vanilla+ is not "add more raids and raid stuff!", its "add more vanilla". Dungeons, open world content, quests. You know, the unique stuff to vanilla?
Making anything OTHER than class specific legendaries would an an enormous mistake. Aggrend can think this all he wants but the sad reality is that one class (whichever one benefits the most) will be fed the legendary that is meant for "more than one class". Better just give each class their own to avoid the inevitable.AKA - giving anyone BUT ret paladins Ashbringer would be a huge L.
Who cares... classic is trash. Meta will always be the meta. Give a feral sulfuras, warriors will still be the best. Imagine still playing classic in 2024 kekw.

All legendaries should get an automatic upgrade-path every new expansion (retail and classic) (e.g. like the Evoker and Melee legendary in retail season 4), so there is a) a reason to get these anyway and b) it's more fun, since everyone can run around with a good weapon.Change my mind.
