On Normal and Heroic raid rankings Arcane is a whole tier lower than the 2nd worst dps specs.
outlaw rogue is just fine. stop complaining. MM hunter is huge as well so we are gucci
This is depressing to see Sub go down every week to rock bottom. Not only were we skipped on the buffs, but the issue of cleave isn't even acknowledged. If Black Powder would do more upfront damage at 2 targets and drop of per extra targets up to the current 8 it would be a start. But single target being beat by the other two spec is just sad.
Time to nerf Affliction and Balance. Thank you in advance blizz.
Must be nice to play lock, class gets three viable specs and one flavor spec, while the rest of us pray we don't get Lucille'd.
I have been playing Destruction back when it was bottom on the charts, and was still doing almost top, if not top dps consistently; and now it's better than ever. Yes I wasn't doing Mythic Castle Nathria, but the point is that neither is most of the people reading this post. For the most part, if you're better at one spec, you'll still do better even if it ranks lower in the top end charts.
Buff sub
So what we see here is a complete dumping on melee.3 of the top 10 classes (3, 9 and 10) are melee specs.7 of the next 10 classes are melee specs, with all 7 of them falling ONLY ahead of a SINGLE Ranged based class...The last 4 are two rogue and two hunter classes. I find it upsetting that of the 4 DPS Only classes (Warlock, Mage, Rogue, Hunter), 3 of them have only a single option above the bottom 50% of the pack. I'm not sure it takes a rocket scientist to understand that a class that can only do DPS with no option to heal or tank shouldn't be laughably behind classes with more gameplay options. This doesn't mean i'm advocating all rogue/mage/hunter/warlock specs be the #1-12 specs on the DPS charts...I'm happy to see Shadow (in particular) get some love for a change, and while Windwalker is a MASSIVE outlier (I'd love for someone to explain that one to me) they have needed some love as well. With the spread showing a CLEAR bias toward ranged classes, it's pretty obvious that encounter design in Nathria is exceptionally poorly tuned to the determent of melee. Specifically, this is showing the continued extreme trend of the uselessness of single target damage across the entirety of World of Warcraft gameplay. I would postulate, at this point, that at least as far as Nathria is concerned, the experiment of "Clear Delineation between AOE, Cleave and Single Target classes" is a poor way of balancing the game. If this shows nothing else, it shows that the fewer AOE options you have and the lower your target caps are the worse your class does. Assassination is on it's 5th buff, it's gained something like 25% raw damage increase since SL release and is still 3rd to last on the DPS meters. It's pretty apparent at this point that multi-target damage needs a complete overhaul.
Yea, BfA 2.0 with blizz not having a single clue what to do with sub. At this point balance in this game is complete and utter dumpster. Sigh.
Why unholy had to be nerfed :(
Please do this analysis every week, and not only after buffs/nerfs.One week's data may not be enough as people were still adjusting.Do this again next week and we shall see what things really look like.
How come 3 warlock specs are on top, and non for rogues?
Arcane mage is seems to be invisible for blizzard. One of the most complicated classes and they totally ruin it with the changes (or with giving no further tuning for it. )
Outlaw Rogue has the wrong color on the table. Should be yellow, not white. And damn, subtlety is dead last again. :(
What we're seeing here is a lack of scaling for Sub. Sub's best stats are vers and crit. Generally classes that scale with vers as one of their best stats are overall worst at scaling. All the other classes have some interaction that makes them scale better than Sub rogue, which is why we've seen a steady decline in it's DPS rankings. Additionally, Sub suffers a LOT due to time off the boss because of the CDR built into the spec. This means that we cant just hold CDs like a Marks hunter can, unless we're filling and emptying CPs, Shadow Dance (main damage spell) cools down at approx 2x the rate. So we're being hit with a triple wammie: bosses have many instances where you need to stop DPS, bosses are generally melee unfriendly, and the spec lacks the basic spell interactions that let it scale well with secondary stats. The best thing to do would be a 10-20% buff to Rupture damage (better cleave and ST, but not an aura buff), remove the CDR mechanic from the spec (let outlaw keep it, it's kind of their thing), and make Enveloping Shadows (talent) give Shadow Dance a 30s recharge time and another charge. This would really make the spec shine in 1 target situations, while still lagging behind Sin in 2-4 target. Reliable burst damage that evens out to a flat DPS curve is really useful in raid, but a small change in raid structure and timings with the DPS holds we see today mean that it gets crippled.
So we need another round of small buffs for Havoc Demon Hunter, Frost Death Knight, Enhancement Shaman, Arcane Mage, Arms Warrior, Beast Mastery Hunter, Assassination Rogue, Survival Hunter and Subtlety Rogue and perhaps some small nerfs to Balance Druid and Affliction Warlock. Nothing big, cause when blizz does big buffs/nerfs it's all falling apart for some reason. Each reset should bring small tweeks here and there, it's their job tbh, it's what they are getting paid for at the end of the day. Maybe revert AoE caps, remove more abilities from GCD? They could add 3 new rows of talents for lvl 20, 55 and 60 and just copy/paste talents, skills, abilities from past expansions (like Legion artifact weapons, good azerite traits etc). Food for thought imho.
