nothing new there. been like this since 2004. they never listened to the EU forums, either
So if you wonder why the game you paid for gets delayed, its because this company keeps making moves like this.
In netehrlands it's just an empty office with like 3 people for managing taxes and incomes. And support is in ISLAND not Ireland for more tax evasion
When the "noble" start stealing, the end of times is near.
You don't need an office if you work from home.
This is actually a smart move as Frech labor laws make is so foreign companies do not want to do business in that country. People like to think that it is a great country to work it but it is a horrible country to run a business in.
Sure blizzard saw ppl fighting over the new "mentor sistem" (all want to mentor) and they thought, wow why are we paying for custom service? less employees more benefit! the perfect model, pay for the game every month and also they work for the company for free! YES! This ppl are really smart
134 people took severance packages already, so maybe read the article.
Won't be surprised if someone up there decided that EU labour laws are way too good for the employees, and it's just not worth the hassle.
I am deeply saddened by this news and all these employees affected have my sympathies. I applied for and was offered a job as a GM at this location over 10 years ago now, but couldn't organise the move properly to get over there (I am from the UK), I was absolutely gutted at the time, but seeing how far Blizzard have fallen in the intervening years leaves me slightly less regretful of the missed opportunity. Screw Activision.
They REALLY should NOT have done this before a major release. Good job.
Is this the cost of Shadowlands expansion delay?
What they do nowadays business-wise is seriously hurts the game and the company. Nothing good will come out of this in the future. Shame.
I wouldn't whizz on Kotick if he was on fire.
why not just fired Ion and keep whole EU office instead?
