Wowhead: New Items Page!
Forgive my tardiness—normally I hate to wait this long before I get an update posted, but I've been moving into my new apartment this week, and I've been a little slow on the draw!
So those of you who are quicker on the uptake than I am, you may have already noticed the new page that we featured. The URL is here:
http://ptr.cuckhead.com/?new-items=3.1
On this page, you have access to every item that's been added to WoW in patch 3.1! They're sorted by type, linked in a table of contents, and divided up by item level. Feel free to poke around and get started on your Ulduar shopping lists!

Tier 8 Bonuses and Other Goodies
This, ladies and gentlemen, is the moment we have all been waiting for! The Tier8 armor sets for all the classes are no longer mystery. We now know how the sets look like, how they are named, but more importantly - what bonuses they give us!
Check the
Turtlenecks Are In This Year
for a video and some information about the way the sets look!
But before we move to the sets, there is a little teaser I would like to toss in here. Remember how at the end of each Arena Season the top teams were rewarded a Nether Drake mount with 310% bonus speed? Well, the reward for the next Arena Season is going to be a

New & Changed Icons in Patch 3.1 (Build 9684)
What does a new PTR build mean? Exciting icon changes, of course. In this new build (3.0.1.9684),
73
new icons were added, and
19
got tweaked.
All these icons are visible by browsing achievements, items, spells etc. on the site—but we thought you might appreciate having them all in one place for browsing. :)

Turtlenecks Are In This Year
So for those of you who have been following

for the tier 8 armor sets!
He's posted a

So what are your favorites and least favorites? I like the Shaman and Druid sets—Druid especially, I think it's nice to see a Druid wearing something that actually looks like

What a Long, Strange Trip It's Going To Be
It appears that on the latest PTR build, Blizzard has removed the
Brew of the Year
achievement from the list of requirements for the
Brewmaster
meta-achievement—and by extension, for the mega-achievement
What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been
. Death Knights now no longer have to wait until 2010 for their shot at the
Proto-Draco Violaceo
!
This is coming hot on the heels of another PTR change which was announced some time earlier regarding the
Fool For Love
meta-achievement (which, like the
Brewmaster
achievement, grants a title). For those of you who missed it, the notorious
Be Mine!
achievement which spawned so much drop-rate related controversy, has been nerfed: You now only need to find six[

Wowhead: PTR 3.1 Site Now Available!
If you look at the top left corner of your screen, you may notice a little something new!
In the past, Wowhead has automatically added PTR content and changes to the live version of the site--which enables people to start planning right away, but unfortunately has caused no end of confusion. Considering how big this patch is (and how long we still have to go before it goes live), we're doing things differently this time. :)
Just like when we had a separate site for live servers and for WotLK back when it was in beta, we now have a separate site for live WoW servers and for the PTR. Any time there is a new patch available on the PTRs, you'll be able to get data from the new patch by going to
ptr.cuckhead.com
. Just click the link in the corner to switch back and forth between the live and PTR sites!
This includes special features, like the
3.1 talent calculator
, as well as the
3.1 hunter pet calculator
. Go take a look!

Holy Cow 30 Minute Hearthstone Cooldowns
This is a short post but I had to bring this up.
According to the legendary Eyonix, 3.1.0 will be removing the ability to "ghetto hearth" using instance groups. But it will
also
be changing the cooldown on hearthstones to 30 minutes.
The World (of Warcraft) changes again.
I will tell you what, guys. I'll bring this up with the designers. Though the hearthstone is reasonable, since many of you have become used to "ghetto hearth" style travel, it may be deemed an appropriate change.
I can make no promises.
Update: Alright, all -- we're going to make the cooldown on hearthstones 30 minutes when 3.1.0 releases. Enjoy your sweet victory.
Thanks to those who provided feedback constructively.

The Secret Dungeon!
So by now I can imagine just about everyone has seen the preview for the new Ulduar raid dungeon.
If you haven't, you can find it here:

Once again Blizzard provides us with a walking tour of some of their most epic locations. It's beautiful work, and I'm really excited to see it in action—one of the things that I especially like about World of Warcraft is the architecture, and the Titan architecture is my favorite of all.
What really blows my mind about all this, though, is how good Blizzard is at keeping secrets.

Dual Spec Changes
More news from the blues! This time, blue poster Zarhym has announced (inadvertently?) some changes to the dual-spec system.
Characters level 40 and up may now use the dual-spec system.
The cost to activate the ability is .
The ability no longer requires a Lexicon of Power.
Switching specs has a 5-second cast time. It may not be used in combat, or in battlegrounds or arenas.
There is no cooldown on switching specs.

3.1 Patch Notes!
3.1 is
now live
on the PTRs!
We have a very special
Patch Notes
page all prettied up with links, colors and tooltips, just for you! Check it out here:
http://www.cuckhead.com/?patchnotes=3.1.0-ptr
This one has got some ESPECIALLY interesting changes. Not only do we have a brand new Gear Planner tool, we see the long-awaited implementation of the Dual Spec feature. There are also apparently some tweaks to the quest tracking system I'm interested to see—and mounts (or at least non-flying mounts) no longer vanish when they get wet!
Combine all of this with the class specific changes (Trap Launchers, anyone?) and I think we've got a hell of a patch coming up. Comments, questions, and thoughts are welcome!
PS: We are working round the clock to get all the new items and data up on the site for your perusal. Your new talent calculators should be ready shortly!

Ulduar Preview!
No matter whether you're Blizzard's number one fanboi, or you think they're the worst bunch of screwups you've ever paid $15 a month to—one thing can always be said for Blizzard: They know how to keep a secret. I fully intend to come up with a whole blog on this subject later.
So naturally, when Blizzard releases some info, all of us jump at the chance to go over it with a fine tooth comb. Let's get cracking, shall we? :D

Patch 3.0.9 Released! (Also Official Venting Location)
Edit: Maintenance extended another two hours, until 1pm PST. Who's surprised? :)
Server down? Having trouble patching? Hate the changes they made to your class? Have a rash on your feet that just won't go away, and you're waiting for Blizzard to send you some ointment? Well, here's the place to tell us about it. And if the servers just come back up without issue, then...well then we'll just let this thread die. :)
Especially interesting about this patch is the official patch notes, which can be found here:

Patch 3.0.9...?
So
MMO-Champion
has announced that the 3.0.9 patch is coming out tomorrow, and posted a set of patch notes. There has been some confusion on the official forums, since the official patch notes on the site still read 3.0.8, and Boubouille doesn't cite a source on MMO-Champion—but since it's a hot topic, I thought I'd post the patch notes here.
Please note these may not be official patch notes. Without an official Blizzard source, we can't verify their authenticity. We offer them here for discussion purposes only.
The full notes are listed after the break.
