Crendor
published an interview with WoW Game Director, Ion Hazzikostas. They talked about things that happened in Patch 7.2, as well and upcoming content in 7.3 including Invasion Points on Argus. You can watch the full video on
their YouTube channel
, but we've highlighted some points below.
What are Invasion Points in 7.3?
The Legion has been assaulted Azeroth but the Burning Crusade of Sargeras is about scouring other worlds. On Argus, you find a Legion Portal Network where the Legion is assaulting other worlds. When you go through this portals, using a riftstone recovered from the wreckage of Kil'jaeden's ship, you'll be getting glimpses of all new planets. You'll go behind the Legion Invasion force, take them out, fight a boss, do a Holdout event and complete an objective there.
The two rift items datamined so far are:
Chiave del Punto di Invasione Carica
: "Allows entry into Lesser Rifts and Greater Rifts."
Chiave del Punto di Invasione Esaurita
: "Allows entry into Lesser Rifts."
General Questions
Legion is their most ambitious expansion and with 7.3, it's a brand new world and trying to tell a story on a grander scale than before
For new players, there's a ton of catch-up mechanisms, so it's still a great time to jump into the action.
Micro-holiday's duration is determined by the amount of content that's there. These aren't one time events, so if you miss it it'll still be back
We've always had content that rotates every week or every other week, but with the Mage Tower, Nether Disruptor and Command Center, they wanted to do experiment with a more organic player-driven system. There is not a system like this on Argus in 7.3
World Bosses complement raid tiers and their loot probably won't be updated. There could be new World Bosses on Argus such as how Broken Shore World Bosses had better loot than the original Broken Shore bosses.
There is a spike of player participation during the Weekly Events; more players doing Battlegrounds during Battleground week and similarly with other events.
Dungeon participation is much higher at this point in the expansion compared to previous expansions
Dragons are cool. The end of the Cataclysm story didn't close the door on Dragon Storylines.
With pet battles, they see that many people ignore it for a long time, then decide to try it at some point before exploring the system more. It's never too late to try pet battles with all the new dungeons.
Azeroth is a planet in the cosmos. There are terrible void creatures out there and an entire unexplored set of worlds. The team is looking forward to tapping into it.
Argus as an expansion would probably be rather monotonous, as it's a planet that has been destroyed by the Legion over the course of Millenia. It is a great place to cap off the Legion progression.
Characters that have been phased out for current storylines are generally on hold rather than getting their own storyline like the Chromie scenario.
