Undocumented Disciplinary Command Legendary Change for Mages

A new undocumented change has come to the PTR concerning
Comando Disciplinare
, Fire Mage's best legendary.
Undocumented Change to Disciplinary Command
The legendary still generally works as expected: if a Mage casts an Arcane spell, a Fire spell, and a Frost spell within 10 seconds this legendary grants a
critical damage buff
. This change specifically affects the behavior of the Fire, Frost, and Arcane spell requirements
while the effect is on cooldown
.
Previously, you could cast a
Dardo di Gelo
as soon as the cooldown was over to receive the buff, assuming you had already cast an arcane and fire spell in the last 10 seconds while it was on cooldown. Now players are unable to "prep" the arcane and fire spells while the legendary is on cooldown. You have to instead cast one of each school starting from
after
the cooldown has finished.
Effect of the Change
The overall effect of this change is that usage will likely be delayed slightly. Technically this is a nerf, but it's unlikely to have a big effect aside from the slight inconvenience to players who are used to how it currently works. The
Combustione Critica
nerf coming in 9.1 will cause
Combustione
to be a longer cooldown. Even if this change causes delays between
Comando Disciplinare
usage, it is unlikely to offset anything in a big way.
Another interesting note about this legendary is that the healing from
Energia Dirottata
counts as Arcane and the ticks from
Pozza delle Fiamme
count as Fire to trigger the legendary, despite operating in the background as parts of other spells. This remains unchanged.
