The random enchantment I got on the boots was "of the bear" which came with 11 stamina and 10 strength.

Guarded by Lord Incendius. To get there, jump thru the right window near the door to the Shadowforge city. The fastest way there is by using the shadowforge key to open the couple of gates/doors on the left side after you enter the instance.

This set is not dumb because:

A)This set is mostly EPIC...only 1 blue (Chest) and 1 green (Shoulders)

B) This set is all about tanking in MC, Hence the insane amounts of FR on each piece

C) This sets armor rating more than makes up for lack of stam...

Right now I currently have entire set, and am MT for my guild in MC... I'm sitting on 8150 armor, 4200 HP(not great but not horrible either) and 310 FR Which is insane considering the FR cap is like 300.

Any MT for MC would know they need at the bare minimum 275+ FR to do any good...

This set pretty much OWNS on a good MT in Molten Core...

Got mines made last night on Whisperwind.

Too use the Anvil, you have too kill Lord Incedius, who dropped the Plate wrist of the Bear ! ( +10 FR +9 Stam +10 Strength.) I got those.

My DI Boots were crafted..... DI Boots of the BEAR ! (+28FR +10 stam + 11 Strength.)

I am very happy about it :)

I was very nervous about getting something lame like Owl, or Frost Wrath.

the dark iron set look's cool on undead's the most human's look a little gay in them but hey don't wear them for the look's look at the FR for the love of god so much FR in one set how can a MT resist that if i was a warrior i would go for armor smithing right away :)

I have seen different enchants on these boots. Lets say that your main motive is to be the MT of the guild, which enchant would be the best for you to go with the +28FR.

a) +11 Defense
b) +10STR / +10STA
c) +16STA
d) +FR

(im not including the +INT/+SPI already as its common sense that they arent the best choice..)

but if you realy got some with bad enchant on, then just sell them on ah, u can get some hundred golds from em, and the cost for some new boots is not the worst since most guilds give away cores for gear for tanks

Some lucky guy on kalecgos had a pair of these made, and it happened to get the FR enchantment meaning he had another 20FR added to them

All the gear with nothing else will give you 158 FR.

all other dark iron equipment has set stats. only this one is random. why? when you spent so much materials and efforts and all you get is a boot with +int and +spi, which means nothing to a tank, it is so frustrating...

I forget who obtained them, but someone on alliance Mug'thol got Dark Iron Boots of Fire Resistance. I forget exactly how much FR it was, but damn, were they nice.

Ok i have made several sets I so far have gotten
1 eagle 10 stam 10 int
3 bear 2- with 10 stam 10 str 1- 10 stam 11 str
1 whale 10 stam 10 spr
2 defense 1- 11 1 - 10
1 gorilla 10 int 10 sprit
1 stamina 16 stamina

all have 28 fire res I am on durotan server building for several guilds letme know if u need got 2 sets to build tonight i repost with them later

Materials:

Dark Iron Bars: 72 (or 576 dark iron ore)
Lava Core: 19
Fiery Core: 17
Core Leather: 8
Blood of the Mountain: 2
Heart of Fire: 9

Considerations:

- Not a "real" set - no completion bonuses (2, 3, 5, 7 piece bonuses etc)
- Dark Iron Plate is Bind on Pickup
- All but the Dark Iron Shoulders require Armorsmith blacksmithing specialization to make.
- All require trips to BRD to make: to smelt the dark iron bars and to create the items on the Black Anvil where Incendious spawns.
- Very high FR rating when all pieces are equipped (compare to epic sets for warriors/paladins - +34 or +40 FR total on those, +168 on this one)
- Slightly higher armor rating than Lawbringer or Might gear (4306), significantly less than Judgement or Wrath (4925)

In my opinion, with a little tweaking, Blizzard could have made this a very nice mid-range set, or for the crowd who could never hope to finish out an epic set for their plate class. Just needs set tier bonuses, change the chest to BoE, and add some slight other stat increases (in the same range as the stamina total, to strength for example)
