With Patch 9.1.5 launching later today with swappable Covenants, we wanted to take one last look at the Covenant choice of the playerbase. We break down these statistics by class and provide some interesting Covenant statistics for the end of Patch 9.1.
Source
Wowhead is tracking Covenant statistics from the WoW Armory! In this article, we compare the Covenant popularity of each spec in Shadowlands, with data taken on October 15th to see any interesting trends across the
World of Warcraft
community.
Our last article about tracking Covenants took place in
April
, and this article takes a look at player's Covenants right before the ripcord is pulled.
The data seen in the charts below has been obtained from the WoW API and includes all max-level characters that are in a guild that has at least one member on the Mythic+ leaderboards. Due to the way that the data has been collected, this will likely not include all max-level characters but should include a large majority of the population. In addition, due to the API, the data may be slightly skewed if players are logging out as an offspec. However, the data should still show large trends in the Covenant popularity of each spec. Due to the way this data is collected, this data should represent a greater part of the entire World of Warcraft community, compared to just looking at high-end raiding/PvP/Mythic+ covenants.
Interesting Notes
Here are some statistics for this data set:
The most popular Spec / Covenant combination of this data set is Night Fae Restoration Druid at 84.5%.
The least popular Spec / Covenant combination of this data set is Necrolord and Night Fae Holy Paladin at 0.5% and 0.7% respectively.
The only spec that is split relatively well between all 4 Covenants is Holy Priest with the lowest Covenant being 22.6% and the highest Covenant being 28.3%.
The spec with that is split between two Covenants the most is Holy Paladin with exactly 49.4% in both Kyrian and Venthyr.
The specs that are overwhelmingly dominant towards one Covenant (>80%) are:
Unholy DK (Necrolord)
Feral Druid (Night Fae)
Restoration Druid (Night Fae)
Fire Mage (Night Fae)
Affliction Warlock (Night Fae)
After the great Balance Druid (Boomkin) debate of Sanctum of Domination, only 25.6% are playing Venthyr with 68% are still Night Fae.
