This Light Infused Frostmourne, or Lightmourne shows us the kind of weapon that a redeemed Arthas might have used, and although it's doubtful that would ever actually be a reality, Blizzard has frequently subverted expectations by adding interesting twists in non-canonical ways, such as the
Lightlord Ragnaros
card in Hearthstone, or several alternate universe Heroes of the Storm skins with quirky lore tying Warcraft, Diablo, and Starcraft characters together in intriguing ways. The
Crimson Court Arthas skin
already looks like it would fit right in with the Venthyr of Revendreth, so it's not hard to imagine an alternate skin of an Arthas which still embraces the light making use of this sword as well. We've even seen a bit of this subversion in
World of Warcraft
itself, such as the fanatical Lightbound during the
Mag'har allied race scenario
, which players have
put their own spin on
.
Although
Shadowlands
looks to explore the history of Frostmourne and the Armor of the Damned, we're probably not going to see the actual runeblade again, as Frostmourne was canonically reforged into the Frost Death Knight artifact weapon
Lames du prince déchu
. That said, there are quite a few power of the light themes represented in weapons and armor sets tints coming from the Maw in
Shadowlands
as well, reminding us that although it maybe called the Shadowlands, it's not actually aligned with the void or other forces of darkness.
There are more sketches to see on LightCurse's

as well, including this Paladin wallpaper, so make sure to check it out!
