Patch 10.1.7 is on its way on September 5th, but you're already done with Time Rifts, you've adopted your Whelplings, you've won the Kalimdor Cup, and for some reason you're not playing Baldur's Gate 3, so now what? We have an idea: Legion raids, even on Mythic, are super easy for any level 70 right now - why not start your next mount farm?
In this guide, we go over all the mounts that can be found in Legion raids and how to farm them. Even on Mythic mode, all these raids are easy even for an undergeared level 70 (I tested on an Evoker with an ilvl of 363).
Antorus, the Burning Throne
Aside from tier 21 transmog sets, there are two mounts that can drop in
Antorus, le Trône ardent
.
The
Molosse embrasé antoréen
can drop from the
Felhounds of Sargeras
encounter on any difficulty including LFR,
Ur'zul entravé
is a mythic-only drop from
Argus l'Annihilateur
, the final boss of the raid.
Getting To Antorus
The entrance to Antorus is in Argus, which isn't a zone that's immediately available. Thankfully, even if you've never unlocked this zone before, it's quite simple to get there now.
First, head over to Dalaran in the Broken Isles. (If you don't have the
Pierre de foyer de Dalaran
toy yet, or can't use it on a character you plan to farm with,
follow our guide here
.)
Next, head into the Violet Citadel and speak with
L’union des îles
to accept and turn in the quest
L’union des îles
.
Now, head to Krasus' Landing - the area with the Dalaran flightpath - and pick up
Les armées du Déclin de la Légion
from Khadgar.
Turn it in and accept
L’assaut du rivage Brisé
. Complete the scenario - you can skip it if you've ever completed it before.
Once you're on the Broken Shore, head back to Dalaran and speak to Khadgar inside the Violet Hold again. He'll offer the quest The Hand of Fate.
Follow the short questline until the Vindicaar takes you to Argus.
The Vindicaar's Navigation Console allows you to teleport to any Argus areaw - the entrance to Antoras is in the southwest corner of Antoran Wastes at 55, 62.
Antorus LFR
While Normal, Heroic, and Mythic Antorus can be accessed through the entrance in Antoran Wastes, the LFR version requires speaking with
Archimage Timear
in Dalaran and asking to be granted a vision of Light's Breach.
All Difficulties: The Felhounds of Sargeras
Molosse embrasé antoréen
drops from the second encounter of the raid, the
Felhounds of Sargeras
. It can drop from any difficulty, even LFR - meaning a single character can get four chances at this mount a week!
If the mount drops, it will be deposited directly into your bags on the boss kill, rather than looted from the corpse.
Mythic Only: Argus the Unmaker
Ur'zul entravé
can only be farmed in Mythic mode, and since it drops off the final boss,
Argus l'Annihilateur
, you'll have to complete the whole raid to get to it.
Raid Skip
If you haven't completed it already, it's worth accepting
Antorus, le Trône ardent : passage obscur
from Turalyon - this quests unlocks the Antoras Mythic raid skip after completing it four times - no more painful Eonar encounter!
The only real challenges in Antoras are the elevator boss, (not only can you fall off it, but if you stand under it as it's coming down, it can squish you) Eonar, and Argus himself.
Soloing Eonar
And the
Essence d'Eonar
encounter, which admittedly is a pain even on a highly geared character as this fight insta-kills you unless you follow the steps exactly.
The encounter provides a special action button. Use it once to fly up into the air, use it a second time to land where you want.
The encounter will fail if Eonar dies, so a lot of these steps are about keeping damage off her.
Start the encounter at A.
Immediately fly to B and kill the Felguards and Fel-Charged Destroyer as they spawn. The big guy is especially important as they do a lot of damage to Eonar. You can also kill the first pack of Fel Hounds if you like.
Fly straight over to C and kill the Felguards and Fel-Charged Destroyer as they spawn.
Fly back down to A and kill any remaining Fel Hounds coming down the path.
Fly to the Fel Hounds who are coming up path D and kill at least one - this should Trigger Eonar to use the ability Life Force which will wipe out the rest of the Fel Hounds.
Head straight to E and take a portal to the legion ship. They look like green flowers on the ground.
The ship has an enemy in the center and four crystals that need to be deactivated. Kill the enemy then deactivate the crystals - the two to the south of the ship (bottom of your minimap) first, the two to the north (top of your minimap) after. Use speed boosts if you have to, even the extra ability can be used here. Do not stay to channel the crystals, you only have to click them.
Leave the ship and jump back down to Eonar at A. Quickly kill them if any creatures are attacking her, but more importantly, get to F and kill the Fel-Charged Destroyer as fast as you can.
Back to A and protect Eonar from attacks by killing anything that comes near her.
Take the portal when she opens them up at E again and repeat step 9.
Back down to Eonar and wipe up any enemies that remain. This should complete the encounter!
Soloing Argus
Apart from Eonar, most of the encounters can be brute-forced, even Argus. If you're a lower item-level and reach the second phase of the fight, you do need some strategy.
During the second phase, Argus stops fighting and then "kills" you, but it's just part of the encounter.
Release and run toward the tree.
Immediately interrupt Argus's cast.
Wipe him up and, (if you're
very
lucky) enjoy your new mount!
The Nighthold
Two mounts can drop in
Palais Sacrenuit
, as well as tier 19 transmog sets.
The
Noyau de brasier infernal
can drop from
Gul'dan
on any difficulty, including LFR, meaning any single character has four chances a week at this mount!
The
Noyau de flammes dévorantes
can drop from Gul'dan on Mythic difficulty only.
Getting to the Nighthold
The Nighthold's raid entrance is in Suramar, at /way 42.2 59.7.
While Normal, Heroic, and Mythic The Nighthold can be accessed through the entrance in Suramar, the LFR version requires speaking with
Archimage Timear
in Dalaran and asking to be granted a vision of the Betrayer's Rise.
Gul'dan
At level 70, killing Gul'dan is easy, even on Mythic. The whole dungeon is a simple case of rush every boss and dps them down - really it's just the time it takes to run around that's the hardest part.
Both of The Nighthold's mounts drop from Gul'dan, the final boss of the raid. The mounts are very similar - the only difference is the easier to obtain mount is green, while the mythic-only mount is red.
Raid Skip
Normal, Heroic, and Mythic The Nighthold all have a version of the raid skip quest
Le palais Sacrenuit : le talisman des Shal’dorei
. It's worth completing this quest on any character you plan to farm Gul'dan with, since you only need to kill Gul'dan for a chance at the mounts.
Tomb of Sargeras
The
Tombe de Sargeras
raid has one mount, as well as tier 20 armor sets.
The
Ver abyssal
drops from
Maîtresse Sassz'ine
on any difficulty, including LFR. As with the others, this means she can be farmed four times per week per character for the mount.
Getting to the Tomb of Sargeras
The Tomb of Sargeras is located in the northern area of the Broken Shore. The portal can be found at /way 64, 21.
While Normal, Heroic, and Mythic Tomb of Sargeras can be accessed through the entrance in Suramar, the LFR version requires speaking with
Archimage Timear
in Dalaran and asking to be granted a vision of the Gates of Hell.
Mistress Sassz'ine
Since the Tomb of Sargeras raid skip bypasses Mistress Sassz'ine, there's no reason to complete it for this farm. However, though she's listed in the dungeon journal as the fifth boss, it's more sensible to fight her third.
After defeating
Goroth
, take the entrance to the left to The Abyssal Throne. Mistress Sassz'ine is at the end of this wing (the pathway takes you out of it but just keep following, it brings you back again).
No special tricks for defeating her. Just dps her down and hope you get your ugly worm. Of the Legion raid mount farms, this one's probably the fastest.
