This can be used in the southwest corner of Saldean's Farm by the 2 windmills. There is a friendly mob named Harvest Reaper Prototype (level 18) that will come alive and attack you once you use this. Kill it and it drops a rune of channeling for warlocks. "Your Drain Life is no longer channeled, lasts 15 sec with a 15 sec cooldown, costs 100% more mana, and heals you for 50% more each time it deals damage." attaches to chest

As the other comments suggest, the reaper seems to randomly spawn at different farms in west fall and it was level 18.
Mages get the living bomb gloves rune drop from killing this reaper Gravure de gants (Bombe vivante).

I also met another mage who spend 2-3hours killing dust devils because he couldn't get the elemental core but then we found out later together that he already obtained the living bomb from other means and may have been the reason why. (I got both parts for this engine on my first kills).

For Warlocks:
Way easier to go to Loch Modan and buy the Malevolent Pie from Greishan IronStove. Consume it, and it should give the same rune. mine had a delay, but went through.

I'm not positive, maybe someone else can confirm but I'm of the opinion you can only loot the Elemental Core once. When I was fighting the Prototype Harvester the first time, I overpulled and died, losing the engine. I've been trying to farm another Elemental Core from Dust Devils ever since and haven't been able to find one. Has anyone else looted multiple Elemental Cores?
