Chapter 6 of the Chains of Domination questline,
The Power of Night
, starts with an urgent missive sent from Ysera to Korthia, summoning the player to the Heart of the Forest in Ardenweald. Once there, Ysera meets you with Shandris Feathermoon, the former Night Warrior Thiernax and his mate, Qadarin.
Night Fae players will remember that previously in their covenant campaign, they joined forces with Huln Highmountain, searching for ways to help Tyrande Whisperwind persevere through the growing power of the Night Warrior. That chapter ends with Huln Highmountain searching through the Shadowlands to find more former Night Warriors to see if they could possibly share the power with Tyrande. Huln has sent word that he has leads for not only one, but two Night Warriors - One in Maldraxxus and one in Revendreth. We're first sent to Maldraxxus, where we meet with Huln by the Sepulcher of Knowledge.
As we arrive in Maldraxxus and meet with Huln, he mentions that the Sepulcher of Knowledge has records for everyone who has arrived in Maldraxxus, including one referred to in life as "The Blade in the Night". However, the Sepulcher is littered with traps, so we must carefully ascend through the tower, dodging them and reading any information we can find on this Night Warrior. Turns out the Sepulcher was protected by Khaliiq, Lady Vashj's second-in-command - and the Blade in the Night. Khaliiq does not talk much about her time as the Night Warrior, but hints at having died a grisly death, just like Thiernax did.
Huln Highmountain: Remnants of a spider's web surround the book...
Huln Highmountain: Hmm. Note the claw marks on the tome's cover...
Huln Highmountain: It seems our quarry is fond of acids and poisons...
Huln Highmountain: Clearly, we pursue a spy from the House of Eyes.
Khaliiq: Indeed you do. And you will tell me why.
Huln Highmountain: Tyrande Whisperwind, a Night Warrior from my world, is in dire peril.
Huln Highmountain: <player> tasked me with finding former Night Warriors to aid her.
Khaliiq: To spare her a grisly death, you mean.
Khaliiq: As we are allies, I will assist you. But not before my current mission is complete.
Khaliiq agrees to help in Ardenweald once her assignments are complete, which includes a rendevous in the House of Rituals to purge the remainder of Kel'Thuzad Ritualists infiltrated within the lichsworn ranks - The ones responsible for the destruction of the House of Eyes and Margrave Akarek's final death. As we depart, Khaliiq asks if Vashj knew Tyrande in life, and Vashj gave her a short response.
Baroness Vashj: Khaliiq. Purge Kel'Thuzad's loyalists from the House of Rituals. Then you may aid the Night Warrior.
Khaliiq: By your leave, Baroness.
Khaliiq: Baroness, did you know this "Tyrande Whisperwind" in life?
Baroness Vashj: I know she is hard to kill. Focus on your mission, Khaliiq.
Khaliiq: As you command.
As we finish our mission in Maldraxxus, another missive is sent to us from Ysera - Telling us that Huln has run into issues in Revendreth, and we are required to go there and find him as soon as possible. With Khaliiq's mission complete and a promise to depart to Ardenweald, we head to Revendreth.
Arriving in Revendreth, we meet with Lady Moonberry and the dredger Cudgelface, who inform us that Huln has been captured by the Stonewright, who is not letting anyone in or out of Dominance Keep while she deals with the growing nathrezim problem. To rescue Huln, Moonberry disguises us as a Stone Legion gargoyle, so we can infiltrate Dominance Keep and see if anyone has seen Huln - Who is sure to stick out like a sore thumb. After searching through the keep, we find Mal'Ganis imprisoned and being watched over by many Stone Legion units.
As we approach Mal'Ganis, he attempts to convince us to find sigils to free him from his prison. Moonberry tells us to go with it and collect the sigils - Instead of giving them to Mal'Ganis, we give them to a nearby guard, reporting that these were far too easy to find, and another infiltrated nathrezim could have very easily freed Mal'Ganis.
After the bindings are taken away, the Stoneborn guard tells us that an incident happened within the keep earlier, but it was dealt with - And someone with a lot of anima was captured, their anima requiring extraction. However, this is not Huln, but another soul who needs to atone for their sins. Forced to attempt some atoning, Lady Moonberry is honestly quite successful once she finds the right angle to prod the soul.
Lady Moonberry: So... tell me about your mother.
Wrathful Soul: She was my world, and she was slain in front of me!
Cudgelface: Blimey, that worked. Keep going!
Lady Moonberry: Would you say the loss of your mother made you angry?
Wrathful Soul: I grew up suffering! I had no one else!
Cudgelface: Yeah, that's the stuff!
Lady Moonberry: And do you think losing her led you to a life of murder and rage?
Wrathful Soul: M--maybe? I just--ARGH!
Lady Moonberry: Might you have been responsible for quite a few dead mothers yourself?
Wrathful Soul: I... Yes, I was.
Lady Moonberry: Well, I think we've had a breakthrough! Good session.
---
Cudgelface: You're pretty good at this gig, Miss Wings!
Lady Moonberry: Meh. The dead mother trope is such lazy writing.
As the atoning session ends, we receive communication that the Stonewright is furious, due to the invasion of a blue soul with horns. As we track down the Stonewright, we learn that she threatened to throw Huln straight into the Maw. We must hurry! We manage to save Huln in time, with the Stonewright revealing that she is the other Night Warrior they were looking for. As the wielder of Elune's Wrath, no wonder she is the Harvester of Wrath.
The Stonewright: Ardenweald? Why are you in Revendreth?
Huln Highmountain: We seek Night Warriors who passed beyond the veil.
The Stonewright: I will aid you, but be warned... Elune's wrath is not easily quelled.
When we return back to Ardenweald, both Khaliiq and the Stonewright are already there, and we make to the Grove of Awakening to prepare for the ritual to quell Tyrande's rage. However, as the ritual progresses, Tyrande loses control of the Night Warrior's power, and attacks the group! Both you and Shandris are forced to stop and restrain Tyrande.
Khaliiq: I remember this power... a double-edged sword.
The Stonewright: Seldom have I seen a mortal wield such rage.
Tyrande Whisperwind: Elune! Arama sh'nala fasima nemelia boranna!
Thiernax: Shandris, maintain your hold on her!
Shandris Feathermoon: Minn'do, please! You must calm yourself!
Tyrande Whisperwind: Anu dorini ash'ka!
Ysera: Tyrande, do not lose yourself to anger!
Khaliiq: Her strength grows--it overwhelms her!
Tyrande Whisperwind: Ash'al theradas!
Lady Moonberry: I don't think she's listening!
Lady Moonberry: That is not good!
The Stonewright: The Night Warrior's fury will annihilate us! Contain it!
Thiernax: No! She is absorbing even more of Elune's power!
Shandris Feathermoon: <player>, aid her!
Lady Moonberry: That is really not good!
Tyrande Whisperwind: ASH ROHK ILISAR! THANDAE!
As Tyrande is restrained, a cutscene currently not implemented in-game plays out. When the cutscene is over, the Winter Queen shows up, as well as an artifact that is known to those who have played Legion - A Tear of Elune. Tyrande is finally herself once more, apparently freed of the Night Warrior's power. Tyrande and Shandris speak, mentioning that Elune's voice is both beautiful but sorrowful. Would this be Elune's first in-game appearance? Either way, we bring Elune's Tear to Ysera, and another cutscene (also currently not implemented) happens here, with Ysera mentioning that both Ardenweald and Tyrande are in peace once more.
The Winter Queen:
My sister... After all this time... She did not abandon me...
<The barest hint of a smile graces the Winter Queen's face before it is gone. She turns her attention to you with the weight of eons.>
Attend me, <player>. Take my sister's tear and come to the Heart of the Forest.
---
Shandris Feathermoon: Mother... Is it you?
Tyrande Whisperwind: I am myself again.
Shandris Feathermoon: What I have seen this day, I can scarcely believe.
Tyrande Whisperwind: I was present for every moment, and yet... outside myself. As much of a witness as you were.
Shandris Feathermoon: So much beauty in her voice. And sorrow as well. The tear...
Tyrande Whisperwind: Was much as mine as hers.
Shandris Feathermoon: The Winter Queen spoke of a purpose for the souls of our people. What did she mean?
Tyrande Whisperwind: That, Elune did not tell me, daughter. Not yet.
