What does this do? Does it put agro on your Succubus like the VW's "taunt" or does it increase the threat by your Warlock, and get rid of it on the Succubus? Please help!

With the release of Wrath of the Lich King, all grimoires where taken out of the game. You pet will now automatically learn their new ability and the new level of it.

Whiplash looks great for PvP, making the succubus an even better PvP minion. I will go defend Lumber Mill with my succubus ;-)

Since the succubus is getting a knockback I don't see why the rhino pet family can't get their knockback back.

Edit: Looks like the Rhinos will get their knockback back.

Edit: I have seen my Succubus use Whiplash by herself on auto-cast (I'm glad it's an option) she casts it whenever she gets hit or gets attacked, the same AI she had with Soothing Kiss on auto-cast (works when players hit her too).

Is it a bug, that at the moment you have to click 3 times with this spell?

1, select the spell
2, nothing happens <---- wtf
3, using the spell.

Frostmage's pet has similar spell, and shadowfurry works like this, but i find this "bug" only with this spell.

Currently in the beta, this spell is being used for extreme griefing in pvp. It is bugged and instead of knocking targets back, it shoots them thousands of feet into the air. I've seen this used on flag carriers in wsg, and while it is incredibly annoying for most classes, if you have any sort of slow fall or bubble, you can use this to basically jump straight into your base to cap the flag without having to go through mid.

Clarification:

Blows enemies in a 5 yard radius of the targeted area 50 yards backwards and inflicts 396 Shadow damage. Very useful in battlegrounds. Due to the power of this ability it will not work upon its first use.

It doesn't work like I thought at first, the enemies don't get knock backed from the center of the area, but in the direction the Succubus is facing.

Enemy melee's simply LOVE this ability in arenas, when my team stands against atleast one melee we stand on the different pillars in BEM arena fully dot him and throw down to the ground and while he's running you can simply imagine what he is thinking as right now players are not used to it and the only abilities that coul somehow move your character were death grip, elemental shaman aoe and firemage aoe. Same in Dalaran Sewers arena, just stand next to the edge and push it, then nuke like hell.

"Knocks back" meaning "knocks away from the succubus".

This ability actually has uses in PvE.

It scales better than Lash of Pain (does about 2k more damage). Crucially it does not trigger any GCD for the succubus so it does not interrupt her basic attacks.

This means you can use Whiplash on cooldown and you'll actually gain dps. It can be tricky to weave into your rotation because it does not autocast and you need to target it on the ground but once you master that using Whiplash on cooldown should net you around ~300 dps more.

Thats wierd as my Whiplash is always on autocast. However the Succubus wont always cast on cooldown. I reckon there are some conditions that triggers Whiplash to be cast. Succy having aggro and being in melee range, for example. Does anyone have more info on this?

This spell works a lot like a Rogue's distract - it'll knock the target away from the "center" of the targetting circle - so be careful aiming this if you're doing it manually, so you don't knock the target towards you!

...This does allow you to have some fun with knocking people around in directions they don't expect though!

As a demo lock who hates his Felguard and preffers to use the Succubus, I really wish we could glyph away the knockback for dungeon-friendliness.

As of current patch it this spell just makes Warlock the ultimate in PvP utility it seems.

This is only useful for when you're in a group and probably benefits demonology warlocks(because they'll use their pet more for dps.) Just like a rogue's feint ability, this reduces the chance the suc will catch agro, however, "increasing the chance that it will attack something else" could mean the warlock if the tank doesn't catch enough agro.
