Midweek Meta Review #0: Welcome to the Prologue
Welcome to the prologue, as it were, for Hearthhead’s new meta report! We’re aiming to release an update every other week with a review of what you can expect to see on the ladder. More importantly - and unique to Hearthhead - we’re going to focus on why you’re seeing what you’re seeing, by trying to narrow in on the metagame’s rock-paper-scissors type cycles.
Before we dig into the format and what you can expect in future meta reports, in keeping with the theory behind this report’s inception, we’re going to answer a simple question - why do you care about a meta report?

The Highest Rated and Most Popular Decks from 2015
Over the past year, you've all been hard at work uploading decks to our database, up-voting the ones that work, and discussing how to improve them. It's been a long amount of time, containing nerfs to and , the release of Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament, and League of Explorers. Through these ebbs in popularity, ten decks rose to the top, and even though the year was defined by the likes of Grim Patron Warrior and Secret Paladin, strangely enough only the former of which is represented among the highest rated and most popular decks created since January 1, 2015.

Crafting Guide - Arcane Dust, Golden Cards, & Disenchanting
Ever found yourself perplexed as to exactly what you should be doing with extra cards? Maybe you aren't so sure you want all of those goldens sitting in your collection. Or perhaps you just want to know what you should be crafting. Our new Crafting Guide talks you through arcane dust, what crafting and disenchanting are, and how golden cards play into all of this. You have some decisions to make for sure, so let us know if you have any questions.
Crafting is a means of obtaining cards without buying packs. It is currently the only way you can collect cards without relying on random chance from either packs or rewards from various game modes. Cards are crafted with varying amounts of Arcane Dust () depending on their rarity and quality.
Cards fall under various categories that effect whether they can be crafted or not. Those rewarded from Adventures for example must be earned by playing their respective wing. Golden versions of those cards can be crafted at the appropriate price however. Others such as Soulbound cards earned by leveling up your heroes can't be crafted in either form. Then there are promotional cards like and which can only be obtained through crafting.

Announcing Deck of the Day
Those of you that follow us on social media may already be aware of our Deck of the Day efforts. Though we don't always highlight one every single day, we do like to draw attention to some decks that are getting attention from our community. To make it easier (and a bit more visually appealing), we also create a cool graphic to give you a quick glance at what we're talking about. Of course if you do appreciate and use the deck, make sure to click through the link and give the creator your feedback. Whether that comes in the form of upvotes/downvotes or comments is completely up to you.

Inspire Guide Now Available
Click here to go to our Inspire Guide.
Production on our guides is picking back up and our latest is now live! Those of you who are new to Hearthstone, The Grand Tournament, or just want to learn more about the mechanic may find something helpful inside. We talk about some of the basics such as how you activate Inspire, what classes have cards that utilize it, and some of the special cases you need to be aware of. For those of you who are a bit more experienced, we also touch on the best Inspire cards for Constructed and Arena and highlight some decks that you can use to climb the ladder which use cards with Inspire.
Here's an excerpt from the introduction:
is the main mechanic added in The Grand Tournament expansion. These special abilities are activated whenever a friendly minion is on the field with the Inspire keyword and you utilize your hero power, regardless of the champion. Some may attract other allies to your cause (summon a minion) or simply become emboldened and gain stats.
The courageous deeds of champions have long served as a source of inner strength for others, and witnessing a hero’s gallantry in action can be enough to inspire even the lowliest of squires to great feats of strength.
Activating Inspire
As we said before, activating Inspire is as simple as using your hero power. It's theoretically possible to do this multiple times a turn through cards that upgrade it like , replace it like , or allow you to use it multiple times as is the case with . It's worth noting that your hero power only needs to be used, so healing a full health minion as a Priest will still activate the special text.
