Hello, Wowhead! Over on Hearthstone Top Decks we’re about to be launching into the Rastakhan’s Rumble expansion which is the third and final expansion of the year. If you haven’t been playing much Hearthstone or following along, we thought it’d be a good idea to get you up to speed!
If you want to get prepared for launch, we have a Rastakhan’s Rumble Survival Guide that lists the launch times as well as some important details regarding the expansion.
Rastakhan’s Rumble follows the once-a-generation event that bears the name of King Rastakhan. Nine teams have assembled with their patron Primal Loa to battle it out to be pronounced victor and champion of the Rumble! There will be 135 new cards added with the new expansion which should make for some new and interesting new decks. The expansion launches on December 4 th, 2018!
With just about every expansion we get a new keyword and this one is no different! This time we’re getting OVERKILL, which means when you kill a minion and deal more damage than it has health you will trigger a bonus effect!
There are 12 cards in total that utilize this new mechanic including the powerful Oondasta:
Along with the new keyword, we are getting some strong legendaries that act as mascots for each class/team in the Rumble. These powerful Loa also come with a synergistic spirit that will help your deck to victory! Here’s a look at the Rogue classes Loa and Spirit:
With all these new and powerful cards being released, they have surely unlocked some new and interesting decks. We’ve been compiling a list of these potential new archetypes and have gone into detail about their origins and how they are setup to succeed in the new expansion! We’re also including some links to currently popular archetypes, so you can get a sense of where the classes are at currently.
Once the expansion releases, we’ll be gathering up Rastakhan’s Rumble Decks and narrowing down the top lists in our Best Rastakhan’s Rumble Decks post !
Current Archetypes
Even if you aren’t a big fan of Hearthstone and don’t want to buy another pack or sink another cent into it, there’s always the free single-player content. This stuff has been quite good lately, and if you haven’t tried it, it’s worth taking a look.
In this Roguelike content, you will fight through different bosses and add cards to your deck after every victory. The cards you get to collect, and the bosses you face are usually different each time you start a new game! This leads to a lot of different scenarios and quite a bit of replay value. So, even if you don’t want to invest in the game, you can still enjoy the new expansion! Rumble Run will be released a bit later, you’ll be able to play it on December 13th, 2018. If you want to learn more about this mode, check out our Rumble Run Guide !
That’s it from us at Hearthstone Top Decks, thanks for reading and we hope to see you in the tavern!
