For this one you drop the totem up near the alter on the path that leads down into the burning strand. (40,62)

I was unable to drop on the slope down from it. I had to drop on the upward side 39.6, 62.3

Im a druid and i couldn't place the totem. I was in cat form. When i shapeshifted back to my worgen form i could place the totem and finish the quest.

Just a tip, if it dosen't work while shapeshifted try with your normal form.

Look for a large crystal suspended above a temple/altar on the high point across the Blazing Strand. This is visible from the Questgiver position, or a bit south of it. Move SW from Questgiver, cross the water where the cliff on the other side is low, then move S to your left, uphill, near cliff edge, past the burning trees and the temple, and out to the very tip and highest point of the cliff (39.7, 62.7). Drop totem. Defend. Note that the quest may be satisfied while some attacking flame elementals are still alive.

Funny thing about this quest... the totem you drop is the same level as the person dropping it, with equivalent health. At 85, the totem has over 14k health, meaning you can literally just place it and walk away. The ritual will finish before the elementals can do even 500 damage to it.

DearAmador... I know exactly what's happening, as my Worgen was getting the same msg.. you need to NOT be inside the fire fountain. You need to actually go behind it, you will see there is a slight rise forming into a small cliff edge... walk up this little bit and place the totem there, you should have no problems. The exact co-ordinates if you have the add-on, is (39.74) by (62.43)

So remember... DO NOT GO INTO THE FOUNTAIN. You need to place the totem on the ground, **behind** the fountain, where the ground starts to rise up.

Soothing the Elements

Place the Charged Soothing Totem at the top of the reef near the Blazing Strand and protect it until the ritual is complete.

Description

Their fiery spirits are contained in the totem now. Take it to the top of the Jagged Reef near the Blazing Strand and set it on the ground.

The totem's soothing energies will slowly wash over the elementals until their fury simmers down to calm.

You must protect the totem, for fire does not react favorably to the ritual of soothing.
