Tip: Clear most of the room first, or at least the parts of the room where the quest items are as each item has a 2 min lifespan in your bags.

Once you've collected the 4 items and create the item to summon Alumeth make sure the tank is standing at the crystal as he will begin to attack you're party instantly. We wiped the first time and had to collect the 4 materials all over again, so make sure everyone in your party is ready for the fight.

There's basically two parts to this quest. The first part involves collecting four items. These items can be found in chests which are located in the room Alumeth's in. Three of the chests are in the eastern part of the room, while the fourth is located near the western wall. As it mentioned above, all items need to be looted and then combined within two minutes. This will create Alumeth's Remains. There is no timer on this item. Therefore, it might be wise to have all partymembers collect the four items, as the remains are used up when summoning Alumeth. This way, you can perform a summon again, should you wipe.

Alumeth himself is pretty strong, as far as a quest mob goes. He hits for 4.5 to 6k on cloth, does a mind flay that ticks three times for 3000 damage (resistable), and casts dominate mind and psychic scream. Running off screaming into a pack of researchers is a somewhat painful experience, so it might be worthwhile equipping a PvP trinket.

Completing this quest unlocks the quest The Ironwall Rampart (this quest is pretty 13337, apparently :) ). Completing that quest leads to yet more group quests. You might want to stay grouped and finish the quest chain while you're at it.

Upon completion, a daily version of this quest is also unlocked. As it doesn't give any reputation at all (only a handful of gold), I can't see many people completing this one. It'd make sense to have quests like this one grant Alliance Vanguard or Ebon Hold reputation, at least.

Just 2 manned this as a level 80 Restoration druid in full ilvl 200 epics and a level 79 Feral Druid in quest rewards etc... Took about 10 minutes and needed innervates and mana potions when off CD (Shadowmeld + drinking in combat ftw, also resets potion sickness ^^)

It got close a few times when I got MC'd though, as a tip... Dont be in tree form if you do plan to do this as even a 3 man, you will just heal the mob up a lot...

2 manned with prot warrior and holy priest, as healer stay out of his LOS and he wont cast his mindcontrol ability, not even on the tank.

This quest is actually soloable if you are a holy paladin and got decent gear and ALOT of patience.
It might sound outrageous, but it's true. When i tried this like 6 in the morning, it took me at least 40 minutes to best this guy, since he casts renew on himself at 50% hp or less this cant be bursted through when you're holy. You just have to keep Sacred Shield up on yourself, keep healing while dpsing him down. he has about 61k mana so it will take (and it took) a long time to get him oom.

He also does mindflay and SW: Pain on you, his melee hits are also quite nasty.
When he is oom it's just a matter of time before he falls. It took me about 40min to get him oom. So if you're a paladin and have lots of patience, then you should try it. Tho after the next patch(3.0.8) SoW will be nerfed, making this harder.

If i get the chance again, i will try to make a video of it and put it up on youtube. :P

Did this with a shaman yesterday. Hit the shammy with Dominate Mind twice, and I could not Cleanse it. Stunned him instead and kept going at the boss. I don't know whether Alumeth's MC is dispellable and I had an issue with my Cleanse macro or if it's like the Illucia Barov in Scholo and just has to be waited out.

you have to loot the items within 4 minutes of each other according to a GM or else they will disappear and if the chest that contains the heart does not sparkle your at the wrong chest.

Of course after 2 hours i still had 3 out of 4 items in my bags and i was standing on the correct chest, but still took me half an hour to convince the GM that i could not loot it and that i was standing on the correct chest.

So if you cant loot it just make a GM ticket and keep whining till they give you the item

Solo'ed this on my lvl 80 Unholy tanking DK in heroics gear ;) that was quite a challenge. His Mind Flay couldn't get interrupted and also fear really made this much harder.

Also, the mob is equipped in T6 Priest+mace from AS4 ;)

Soloed by Demo lock 80 lvl epic geared , just on the end used demon form and imolation aura, pvp trinket will be usable too.

Being able to use your flying mount makes it much easier. Finding the chains that led to this quest was...to say the least...challenging.

Soloed today with my Holy Pala.Nearly full 213 epic gear.
It was very easy though its stressful cause u see him heal alot since we cant do so much dmg. It might take 5-10 min to do it. Have in mind that u must ALWAYS remove the DoT as soon as u get it.Mind Flay+Power Word:Pain might lead to death.
The mana was another problem but if u use Plea wiselly then u might need only 1 pot to be sure.
Have in mind to have ur back at the wall all the time cause he fears and u might go in a group of 3 mobs which is a 100% wipe.
Use ur stuns well and there u go ;)

Soloable for prot warriors. Takes a bit luck with spell reflecting instant SW:Pain and Mind Flay though :)
Remove Renew with shield slam and keep rotation on shield block / dodge trinket / concussion blow / shockwave (yes, its stunnable). When you get low, use last stand with enraged regen. Little tricks like bandaging after stun helps too but not really needed.

Soloed this as an enhancement shaman, naxx 25 geared.

Pulls of the guys in the room were kind of annoying, due to that little knock back thing. I pull by hexing one, taking down the other two quickly, then I can usually kill the hexed one before the hex breaks.

The guy isn't that difficult. Lay down tremor totem to help with the screams. If he starts doing big damage to you, use Feral Spirits or Shamanistic Rage. Use all Maelstrom 5s for heals. Took about a minute.

took me about a min to solo as a retadin. have all the gear from heroics plus badges. had to use LoH the hammer of judgement bubble healed a few times. took 2 attempts. first attempt i tried with my holy gear since my holy set is fully valorous with a turning tide. eventually respawns popped and an unlucky fear later left me fighting 4 all of which burned my mana down to nothing and i died.

This is a stupidly easy solo for a Death Knight, probably the easiest one in Ice Crown. If you've got "Army Of The Dead" he falls over in under a minute.

Soloed as a shadow priest, naxx 25 geared. Bit of a tough fight, make sure you have fear ward and shadow protection up along with fort and inner fire. Opened with shield on and with embrace active for health regen. I couldn't dps enough to regain as much health as he did to me in damage, so I switched out of shadowform around 35% to heal. Just keep flash healing with the occasional shield while keeping dots up, and he'll go down.

In T7/8, Lifeblood, PvE talents/glyphs, Health Pot, all CDs and STILL couldn't drop this guy solo. So if the above is true, then you'll need full T8 and some luck to do it.

solo`d retri pala used hammer of justice and holy wrath while being mind flayed titan fored runes of alctricty and cruelty and divine sheild when feared had to use lay on hands as well very tough fight but doable

Soloed as an 80 prot pally with mostly pre-heroic crafted gear - 542 def and ~26k HP - but was very tough. His Mind Flay was keeping his health at about 40-50% for most of the fight, because he casted it more often then I could stun him with Holy Wrath and Hammer of Justice.

So basically, I just used Seal of Light, Judgement of Light and Blessing of Sanctuary to stay alive, Divine Plea to keep my mana pool active (though it was very, very low for most of the fight), Sacred Shield & Holy Shield to reduce the beating I took, and used the PvP Trinket whenever his Psychic Scream was sending me running towards any adds. Then I just fought until he ran out of mana and couldn't use Mind Flay anymore, and then took out my frustrations and beat him with everything I had.

Once he dropped below 20%, Hammer of Wrath was my best friend, because I use the Glyph of Hammer of Wrath, so it is mana free. Very tough fight unless you're better geared then I was. I would advise waiting until you have some better gear, or bring a friend along.

Also, don't be afraid to help other players once in a while. At one point in the fight, a hunter came by and I thought he was going to help, but he just watched for a couple minutes and then left. I almost cursed him out, but thought I should focus on staying alive.

While this quest is labelled as a group quest, it is decidedly soloable as several classes.
I solo the daily version every day on both my ret paladin and my blood (dps) death knight.

Be warned, it definitely is on the tough end, so if you aren't a warlock, hunter, paladin, warrior, or death knight, watch out!

This quest is soloable with a Ret Pally. All you need to do is make sure you divine shild is cooled down beacuse you will need it . just use Judgment of light alot to keep health up and follow it with divine storm to get a big health return.Other then that just keep attacks going and you will make it. good luck : )

Yea I think this quest is now easily solo-able on any well geared class. 80 Surv Hunter with 5556gs // 6095 AP unbufffed. Used my bear as a tanking pet distracted off him ouch just to heal him up a bit and when Alumeth went to go finish him off I finished him off.

Soloed as a lvl 80 Disc Priest (6100gs) without any buffs (including Fortitude or Inner Fire). He only feared me towards the end but Fear Ward took care of it.

To do this you need to collect his heart, skull, robes and scepter from various chests around the room. There is a picture of the chests in photos. Use all of them to make Alumeth's remains. Use that item at the giant purple crystal at the back of the room, kill him and done. He has ~104k health.

this pain is an absolute PITA in 2023. the casters surrounding the table just evade all the time but every few seconds they are able to cast spells at you. wtf is this.

Description
