Overlord Mor'Morokk hits harder than a standard elite of his level, however this quest is quite doable either solo or with a helper.

Because of the nature of the quest, you have only a second or two after you start this quest before he becomes hostile. For any class that relies on range or abilities like charge this will add an extra layer of complexity to this fight.

Once you reduce him to about 20% of his hitpoints, he will revert to being a friendly target and run off wimpering into the swamp.

Soloed at level 42 affliction lock using VW. Easy with fear chaining him. Let VW take agroo, build up dot's and start fear chaining. If you have Dark pact, after he's feared set VW's threat skills off so you don't have to life tap. If he resists a fear, hit him with a death coil and that should give enough time to fear him again. If he resists both, you can sac the VW and fear him that way, aswell.

He hit me once or twice, both ~ 500-600 so as he's feared could slip in a quick first aid heal.

I solo'd as a 44 Blood Elf Assassin Rogue. I needed 2 blinding powders, luck with the Crippling Poison application, and a lot of arrows. First, I accepted the quest and ran away, just enough to make him reset. Then I quickly ran back and Cheap Shotted him before the quest failed. By the time my stun wore off, I had Crip posion applied. I gouged him, ran back, and fired arrows until he got too close. By then, I did 1 of 2 things: If I had 5 combo points, I Kindey shotted and backstabbed until stun wore off, gouged, ran and shot arrows like before. Had I know 5 points, I just gouged and ran until I did. Took a lot of time and a lot of kiting, and I had to blind him twice. I used 5 total bandages and about a million gouges, but it worked. I don't reccomend this method unless you're desperate, because it's half luck.

Just soloed it, first try, 44 Frost-spec Mage. I only had one bandage left so I thought I was hosed, used Evoc, Ice Block, Cold Snap and 2 mana pots. Basically spent the whole fight just kiting him in slow circles around the fire in the middle. I would frostbolt, strafe back a bit, frostbolt, frost nova, blink to the other side. If he got real close I'd CoC. I got him to about 30%ish and at that point he runs off and you win.

Fought him 3 times, 48 Fire Mage. Kiting around the fire, as much as a fire mage can do, is useless because he walks right through it. Eventually I had the help of a random druid who just healed me, which is what I needed.
Got swiped a few times but blinked out of them. Otherwise its doable if your lucky with crits, stuns, and his hits. Id have gotten him the first two times but he didnt quite reach that 20-30% range of running away and I was out of mana having to drink a health pot to stay alive and just a mana stone for help.

Managed to solo this as a lvl 43 fire mage similar to how Thristan did.

I used the low wagon between Krog and Zulrg to force him to go around that big wagon behind Zulrg:

Started with frost nova
Ran over the wagon to the other side, thus forcing him to walk around to my side.
Used frostbolt, ran over the wagon to the other side
Frostbolt again and run over the wagon to the other side
Repeat until he surrenders.

Threw in a Fire blast once in a while to make it a bit faster.
Use evocation and bandage/pots if needed. But should be doable with out using them all.

I did this solo as a level 44 warlock, though I did die the first time. Set the soulstone before starting this quest. On the second attempt, he cannot touch you as each hit drains significant heath and can stun you. You're dazed and he continues to hit you. The idea is to continually use Fear to keep him running and repeatly use the Dots. I used the Voidwalker only to replenish my mana.

Just soloed this the first try as a 46 feral druid (2900hp 4700 armor in bear). Accept the quest and move far enough away to feral charge at the start.

Used bash, roots when I needed to pop off a heal or two. Took about 2 mins or so total but wasnt hard to complete overall.

Soloed as a level 41 affliction warlock using the chain fearing method described above. Had voidwalker up for dark pact and an emergency shield (which wasn't needed). I just used the standard DoTs and mixed in Curse of Exhaustion occasionally to give myself some breathing room when reapplying fear. My combat log shows 10300 damage done over 5:35 minutes before he ran off and triggered the quest completion.

easily soloed as a 45 frost mage.
simply kite him around with chain slows etc. had to use one mana jade and evocation. ended the fight with myself close to full hp.

Tried soloing this at 43 (yeah, I know, very optimistic), Prot Paladin. Went well for the first 20% or so, after that the stuns were coming so often, I could hardly do anything. Used both bubbles, a potion, LoH and a heavy stone statue, ended up stunning him when I had 100 hp left and ran off. He was down to 49% then.

I ended up getting help from a 70 mage who passed by. This guy's a lot harder than most 45 elites. A lot.

Tried to solo as a Lv 45 Arms Warrior. Wouldn't have been able to make it without my Warlock friend backing me up. Overlord has a ton of HP for his level.

As a priest, get the speed boot enchant and run away while applying rank 1 (or 2) shadow word: pain constantly. You'll run out of mana if you use anything else. He'll deaggro and run back shortly after 3 ticks of pain, so watch your timer and damage. It'll take a long time, but it's doable.

Everyone: Make sure you're inside the camp and near the bonfire when you get him to 30% or so. If you're outside, he'll bug out and you'll have to do it all over again, including waiting on the respawn.

If you have a class capable of kiting him, you can kite him around the wall right beside the flight point, with the two canopies coming off either side of it. Just run in circles around that wall, hitting him when you can. He doesn't run through it, and can't hit through it.

Did it that way on my 43 Afflic orc warlock, with vw out. Only had vw in case I needed the Sacrifice shield. Just Curse of Exhaustion kited him around the wall, easy peasy, though it took a few minutes since I was only using two other dots, Corr and Siph Life. Ended with full health and no mana, no mana on vw either since I had to Dark Pact it all away. Used no pots, scrolls, or buffs. How long it takes you will depend on how much +dmg you have, I had +113 total. Also, I had 2pts in Suppression, so only one or two of my dots were resisted.

Tried Fear-kiting him first, but he broke Fear both times after about 3s, so had to resort to wall kiting him instead.

The pre-requisite for this quest is the The Brood of Onyxia chain ( https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/quest=1170 ) which in turn has a pre-requisite of Identifying the Brood ( https://www.cuckhead.com/cata/quest=1169 )

I've just done this quest with a level 47 Paladin, very very tough fight. The fight itself lasted a good 8-10 minutes, used bubble twice and Blessing of Protection, as well as Divine Favour (I'm Holy spec) whenever it was off cool down, and the same for my jewel crafting owl. Great challenge though.

He has just over 14,000 health, and as stated, he gives up at around about 30%. As for the stuns, they seem to be a proc on his weapon, judging by the fact that the stuns are every so many seconds exactly, the stun also lasts for 4 seconds, so it's best to heal pre-emptively if you're a healer (although I wouldn't try this solo if I wasn't a healer or a class that can kite).

I found it an easy fight as a lvl 43 hunter...i spec full in BM (beast master) and i let my pet (bear) take the aggro. the fight lasted around 1 min. i used one potion when he stuned me. i used frost trap to get him off my back then ran to the nearest elevated spot, cant remember what it was. i used arcane shat and poison shot ALOT and i used arrow volly once. im not that powerful but it was a shit easy quest. i died first time onperpos when he was low health i just called off pet..i wanted to have the pleasure of pawning him with a bud of mine >:). lol that was fun he died in under a min didnt even have time to /rude him.....THE POINT BEING: just spam on the arcane and poisen and hes as good as dead

Soloed as a 41 paladin, protspec and using 3 manapots, Divine Shield, LoH, Bop and used judgement - seal of light on him the whole fight, it was a long and boring fight bot totaly possible.Crits/crushes at around 300.

Uhm, if you plan on soloing this quest using the debris between the flightmaster and the cave, jumping over the wagon.. Uhm. If you get stuck ontop it for more than about 0.5 seconds, Mokk will reset and regain 100% health. He did that to me three times before I eventually got him down, so do a little practise on the jumping before you give it a go.

Oh, also, you can reset this quest anytime you want; Mok will stop following you if you run away. I always left the quest when he did and when I did, he despawned for a couple of minutes. I dunno if you can simply run away and rest again, then go at it, but I guess. Worth giving out a try instead of dying at least.

Soloed as a 49 dagger rogue. Started the quest and stealthed - he aggroed on me anyway, but still managed to get a cheap shot on him. Evasion, 5cp CB Evis. Built up combo points again, 5 pt Kidney Shot, couple Backstabs, had him to about 50%. Blind, bandaged to full, got up to 5 points and KS again, couple more hits and he hit 30% and ran away.

Seems like they nerfed him somewhat in 2.3, he was hitting me for ~250 or so. Wasn't nearly as difficult as the older posts made it out to be. Probably soloable for most classes now.

Soloed easily as a 42 holy paladin. Kept Judgement of Light on him the whole fight. Just kept wailing on him with a 1H and shield (about 4300 armor total with devotion aura up). Threw in a few Holy Shocks, and Consecration's when my mana was high. I had to heal about every 15 sec, but when mana was low, I put Seal of Wisdom on myself to get it back up. I ended with about 1/2 health and 1/2 mana.

He does hit hard, but it's slow enough that you can outlast him, and just go on indefinitely. I probably could have fought him for hours like that and not died. His first couple of hits were daunting because I was at a 1/4 health in about 10 sec, and he hadn't even taken any noticeable damage, but don't give up, and eventually he'll go down.

Also, he may have been nerfed a bit since 2.3 came out, as this wasn't difficult at all.

Oh, also, i didn't use any bubbles or bandages, but with Spiritual Focus, I hardly every lost casting time on my heals.

Soloed him as a beastmaster hunter at level 42. My pet was a level 41 gorilla, with maxed natural armour and stamina. I basically hit him with the pet straight away and gave it a few seconds with growl, bestial wrath and a thunderstomp before I began dpsing, mending the pet once he had lost 75% of his HP. Kept mending him as he was taking some heavy damage (for this level anyways), and once he was nearing critical HP i used my last mana on frost trapping Mok'Morokk. Bandaged the pet, used a mana pot and feigned death before taking his last 20% or something with rapid fire on. Not bad, though I failed the first time with a different, underleveled pet who kept missing him.

Soloed as 45 BM hunter, sent my pet in, popped rapid fire, intimidation and bestial wrath and just shot him down, when my pet was 50% I used mend pet and feign deathed, and kept shooting. It was piece of cake, no need for kiting.

I'm really not sure what the fuss is with this quest. I soloed it at lvl 41 with my Warlock (Going for the updated SM/Ruin tree).

I stuck corruption and amplified curse of agony on him, then spaffed shadowbolts at him, fearing him if he came near me again. I used the imp rather than the voidwalker as his firebolt can keep hitting him without having to follow it everywhere. I finished with most of my health intact.

The only issue I had doing this was a paladin who was sat by the cave entrance laughing at me as I did it.

The quest appears to bug if you kite him too far. I took him about half way across the zone kiting him, when he went friendly, no credit. Strange, since this method gets him out of the village faster, which is the goal...

As a 40+ frost mage, this guy is very easy.

Nova to start, pop Icy Veins (having 3/3 frostbite and points in shatter is key here) and nuke away. He probably won't reach you, and if he does you've got Ice Barrier up anyway. Blink, Cold Snap and repeat if necessary.

Solo'd as a 42 prot pally. Used 2 mana pots, bubble, and LoH when low on health and mana. I had devo aura and BoW up. I tried to time heals in between his swings as they are pretty slow (I think they hit me for 100-200 normally, many were crushing though). He also has a rather long stun/knockdown, so don't wait until the very last moment to begin your heals (he almost got me that way). Took awhile with my amazing prot DPS but I eventually got him down. Hope this helps.

When I soloed this I was a lvl 44 Rogue. Any rogue around this level should have no problems at all with a few easy tips:

- Get into stealth after you accept the quest and be ready to cheap shot him.
- Use all your stun/incapacitate abilities to avoid taking too much dmg.
- Use your evasion after a kidney shot so you have a good chance of getting another easy 5 combo points.
- When/if you get to 50% hp or lower, blind him and bandage yourself and maybe even pot.
- Having Riposte should help, seemed to work well for me.

Just soloed as a 44 BM hunter. Popped Bestial Wrath and Mend Pet right away, then after a few seconds of auto-attacking (with serpent sting) I went in with Rapid Fire. I cast Mend Pet a second time, but my pet (a 43 cat) hardly took any damage by the time it was over. I'm only wearing average gear so I'm guessing he was nerfed at some point -- all I had to do was stand there and shoot!

As of 2.3.3, he's definitely soloable. Soloed, bla bla, only spammed 2 OP spells, I'm uber leet, whatever. Here are some global tips for those who have the courage to accept a challenge:

- He'll wait about 2-4 seconds before attacking you. This should be enough to get a decent range before he becomes KoS.
- Stealthed or not, he'll always run to you once he becomes KoS. This makes spells that take long to cast hardly usable. Also, you can still stealth and use stealth-specific moves if you strike him before he does.
- I don't know if he can be held by every spell (EG.: frost nova), but fellow druids, entangling roots works efficiently.
- He crits alot (druid 43). At least, he did to me. So, he hits hard enough for an elite. If you can heal yourself, be sure that he is very well CC'd or bound, because even outhealing AND keeping mana to survive while he's wacking you will cause healing to only buy you a slight amount of time.
- And yes, he will run away at 30% health. Mission complete.
- ONE thing to consider too: It's a level 45 elite, and most players who stop at Brackenwall Village are in their late 30's or barely level 40. Don't expect help by questers in the area; people aren't that stupid and probably know that an elite 4-7 levels above theirs is suicide. They don't want to pay the price of death if YOU fail. Either be confident in your soloing skills, or find someone else to duo it.

I went really close to dying. He's not easysauce if you're not a hunter/warlock.

Soloed as 41 Destuction Warlock. I just dotted up with CoA and Immolate, ShadowBurn and some Shadow Bolts.
Ran out of mana fast, so I had to use fear and Wand and drain life. Used imp for some dmg and more health. Did not use Potions.
I were very lucky with the Fears to not resist. Resist first two times, had like 30% Health left.

Okay, just killed this guy on a 43 frost spec mage pretty much solo, with help from half way in by a lvl 30 rogue who didn't hit much on him. As long as he's kept away from you its pretty easy. Anyway, just proving those people wrong that it's virtually impossible as a lvl 46 to solo :>

Soloed as a 43 prot pally, my 300 first aid was definitely needed. He hits too hard to try and outlast so I went for damage since I read he quits at about 40% health. Judged seal of Crusader, upped Seal of Righteousness, threw down highest lvl Consecrations available. Used Divine Shield when I was almost dead and healed with a heavy runecloth bandage to full health. Threw a Hammer of Justice in there and whacked away while he was stunned. By this time a minute should have gone by so you should be able to use Blessing of Protection (he is melee only so it's perfect)...bandaged again to full health. Whack, whack, whack. The end. If you get low on health again you should be able to use Lay on Hands for full health and some mana. Train your first aid!

Soloed as 43 Shadow Priest. From the comments above it doesn't sound like many liked the "crazy kite strategy" but it really is super simple. Just walk through between the cart and the boxes (no well timed jumps needed) the ogre can't fit and walks all the way around. Even if you don't have any DOT's and just need some time to bandage it would definitely help.

Solo'd at 42 as ret pally using the box/cart "kite". Ended up taking almost 5 minutes since he bugged and evaded once (back to full health) when I got hung up going through the gap.

Used 2 mana pots and 2 bandaids (mageweave). Had several back-to-back chain stuns, not too fun but manageable with the kite. Hits for about 150 with crits of 300 on about 2400 armor.

Easily done as 42 feral druid.
pop bear right away and keep demo roar up all the time. Try to keep rage around 70ish and when you get to half used furious regen. When my health got low a second time I used a stun and regrowth/rejuv and went cat, 5 quick points and rake then back to bear.

Kept cat bleeds and demo roar up as much as I could and only had to heal once.

Did this as a 47 ret pally, just judged crusader and auto attacked away with hammer of justice and judged command when up. Did not have to BoP or anything just did 1 repentance and a holy light and took a health pot and thats it. The fight did not take more than a minute.

As far as bugging out, you don't actually kill him he runs away around 30 percent. But based on my experience it seems that most classes should be able to solo him if prepared with pots/bandages etc.

Just soloed as 43 ret pally (with sword and broad). Used DS, HoJ and Repentance to heal up (2 big heals, 1 heavy silk bandage), and ate a mana pot. Judged SoC and then it was SoR all the way. Wouldn't have needed to pot if I had 3 mana taps :p

I was 40 when i done it, but I done it with help from a level 62. This NPC is found in Blackenwall Village, Dustwallow Marsh, Kalimdor. I think he dies so hard because my sword can't destoy it's fatness armor :).

killed him with a lvl 43 ice mage part solo, i froze him and ran back to mage from far when he got close i ran and froze asap got him to 40% with about 200 health from me shamen healed me and i killed him, easy quest if you do it right, one more level and i would have had no problems

Done this quest as a 46 Sub Rogue.Started out with cheapshot. Kept up ghostly strike and if its on cooldown ,Evasion.After which I used Preperation and repeated it. I dodged most of his attacks. I poted once and after that it was a piece of cake. Really tough fight though. Was quite interesting. You really need some skills to pull this one off yourself but was a nice challenge.

Attempted at rot moon fire insects let that runa nd repeat but he got unrooted too fast.

Agro wouldnt go to lock i died then she was cake for him to kill

Attempt 3:
she gets on ehr 70 troll shaman we somehow bugged ripped in peices to fast and he was bugged on 1hp so i abandoned and let him kill me

she helps some buy at like 36% stops and he runs at 30%.

i easily soloed this guy with my level 43 enhancement shaman.
i have normal dungeons gear and crusader on both weapons.
tip for shamans: use strength of earth totem and grace of air totem,
spam your shocks at the moment the cd is finished,you should also have some pots ready to be used against this guy.
do that and the battle will be over before it starts :P.

ehm ... don't know what all the fuss is about, really. perhaps he was changed at some point?

soloed as lvl 42 frost mage. had good gear (dreamweave + dungeon stuff). pre-cast Ice Barrier, then let mana regen to full before I took the quest. after that, basically just snare (alternating Frost Nova and Cone of Cold) + kite (blink ftw) + frost bolt, and maintain Ice Barrier as much as you can. I used mage armor for some regen, but had to pop a mana stone and a health potion, which is not unreasonable for soloing an elite several lvls higher.

Okay took a bit of skill but solo'd as an Enhance Shaman level 45. Drop earthbind totem near cart and kite him around the large cart. Whenever Stormstrike is up run up and hit him and keep kiting. Save mana so emergency if he gets too close and you need to Frost Shock or heal (Which you will need to do) I also had mana totem down. Didnt help much.

Soloed at 43 Affl Warlock...first try sent my void in and peppered him with all my fire power backfired as he came up to me and stunned me for the rest of the fight while CRITing me bad.

Second try sent the void in, put on my DOTs then kited when the void lost the aggro. Healed quick and renewed the DOts and kited him again.

So for any warlocks doing this, kiting is definitely the way to go, it was much easier, and I came out of it with only minor cuts and bruises.

Hi, I was able to solo this quest at level 38 as a hunter with a very simple tactic.

Using frost trap I was able to kite him with a help of a fence all the way to 20%, when he runs.

Soloed as a 42 level druid (feral), just do all your healing stuff on you before you accept the quest, then go cat form. When you have about %60 HP, use War Stomp, then root him. Heal yourself and do all of your hots again and go cat form. Do this again if you need healing (Stomp will probably in CD, but you can just use root). If you go out of mana, use innervate. That's it!

Solo'd this as a 32 dem lock. Easiest thing in the world.

Just hit him with fear, cover him in dots, and stick your demon on him. Repeat till fight is finished. I did it with my voidwalker, but I would suggest using your succubus. The VW will not hold any meaningful agro, and since the ogre's just gonna be running around all a'feared, the extra damage from the succubus will be more valuable.

Soloed as a 41 BM Hunter without kiting. Just let pet tank and he went down within a minute.

Note: This was done on the day patch 3.0 was released, so it is possible Mok'Morokk was nerfed or the 3.0 class changes made the fight easier. When I beat him, I didn't have an aspect on, and I didn't even use Hunter's Mark. Just Arcane / Serpent / Auto.

I'm currently going back through to get achievements so I'm doing a lot of quests I skipped or omitted throughout my leveling career and I found a bug on this one. I'm a frost mage with decent gear, so obviously it's no problem: he went hostile, I novad and frostbolted him down to 1% health. 35k damage later, he's still at 1%. If you damage him too fast he apparently bugs out and will not run away. So for any higher level going back through, chip away at him instead of blowing him up. I ice lance spammed him until he went friendly again at 30%.

Easy solo, level 41 Enhancement Shaman in near-full blues, though. But, it'd be easy for any gear I'd wager.

Method: Use Frost Shock, make sure you have instant ghostwolf talent, and simply kite him around your searing totem. Takes a while, but I finished the fight near-OoM and at full health.

Mok bugs out if you burn him past 30% way too quickly (I mangle-crit him at level 80 all the way down to 1%.) Be sure to just poke him with a fishing pole or something if you're way overlevelled.

I tried to do this solo in level 41 hunter with a level 40 pet. I just made him attack my pet and healed the pet. It was a long battle and once he tried to come and hit me, but because of my new best friend, Feign Death, he changed his mind and attacked my pet again. Wasn't easy, but it's doable solo and him being three levels above you.

Soloed as a level 39 BM hunter with a gorilla pet. Was not fun -_- I Recommend having your pet have the 12% stam boost, point/points in blood of the rhino, and to stay in aspect of the viper. Keep mend pet up and if you pull agro kite him around until your pet can pull him off you. Use intimidation when ever possible. Oh, And i used beserking&rabid fire. So those helped alot in the start. Wasn't very hard but wasn't easy.

soloed as 42 enhance shammy, here was my strategy:

laid totems before talking to him using strength of earth, healing stream, windfury, searing down. lesser healing wave at 50-60%, healing wave below 30% (he does multiple stuns). keep stormstrike on him for earth shock spam. use a slower weapon that hits harder instead of 2 1 handers because you are most likely healing than dealing dmg. the 2 hander can hit him hard once (and maybe proc windfury) while u go back healing. a must is to keep water shield up so you have enough mana, if not, you can substitute mana spring instead of healing stream. I had to use 1 pot after he stunned me 3 times in a row. he was hard, but definitely soloable if you know what you are doing, took me 1 try.

Soloed as 46 Warlock. Voidwalker pet did a great job tanking him, but when I got aggro it got hairy. Used howling terror, Hearthstone, and a bandage. Reloaded all dots, and he started running right after he got back from being feared. I think he had around 2200 HPs when he ran off and started with around 7300. If my pet could have kept aggro he would have tanked it easily as he was only down about 20%. All my gear is quest/drop gear that I have got up to this level. 32/4/0 with lots of spell power. Edit: 6900 exp for the turn in to Draz'Zilb.

As a Druid; use Entangling roots and ranged attacks for as long as possible. When your out of mana and he braks free from Entangling roots, Natures grasp should do the trick. Switch to Cat (if 40%) or Bear (if 50%) or if you have Moonkin form (which you should be in already if you do) freely dps him down. I dont advise going in melee, unless your Cat/Bear form has significant dodge capabilities. Bring Bandages and Mana/Health Potions just in case you get unlucky with roots.

Soloed 42 frost mage.

From the start, keep manashield and ice barrier up with full mana. Get range and start frostbolting, when he is near to you frostnova and fb again. Let him break the shields while casting fb, blink reshield while running away (but with only barrier) and fb again, when he is near, frost nova, range and fb, FA if needed. And again and again. Dont forget to use gem and cold snap for 2x frost nova and ice barrier. U can also use IB for 10s, so u can wait, until frostnova is done on the cd.

This guy was a joke when I fought him just now as a 42 ret paladin with the heirloom shoulders, 2x heirloom trinket, and heirloom arcanite reaper with crusader.

1. HOJ
2. judge wisdom or light
3. art of war heal as soon as you've lost enough health
4. dps him till you start to get low using art of war heals if you crit judge
5. repent, heal full
6. judge out of repent, use the art of war heal once you've lost some health

I didn't have to bubble or heal myself at all outside of that, got him to 30% in about 20-30 seconds.

Really easy. I just attacked him for a while. When i got low health i Repentanced him.

Healed myself. And when you use this spell the cooldown start. So I just waited for about 50 seconds then i started to attack again.

It's also easy to solo with a hunter or warlock.

Stoneskin + Mana Spring + Searing + Windfury.

Kept Water Shield up at all times and Flame Shock dot at all times. Didn't waste any mana on lightning bolts, just auto-attacked with flametongue on.

He can stun you twice in a row so I kept myself above 50% hp.

People who are now saying this quest isn't hard to solo, note the dates on the posts you're refuting.

He's entirely soloable by a level 41 shadow priest by using the aforementioned method of kiting him using the wagon. Do make note that if you land on the wagon by jumping past it you may partially reset his health. That is of course, a Bad Thing™.

I should note that if you need some range to start with, accept the quest while mounted. Gives you a couple seconds to get distance.

lol... he's been glitching out for me. Tried this once or twice as a lvl 43 arms/fury hybrid. Soloed him just fine, until he glitched out after quest credit, and reset.

First time i tried, some 80 retadin came and tried to help. But glitched him to 1%, and he was just following lowbies around brackenwall. kinda funny.

But yeah, soloed with 43 arms/fury hybrid, stacked sunder, kept rend up, thunderclapped. Had to use a health pot, but definitely doable. If he resets on you, you'll still get quest credit afterwards. though depending on your class, you might die.

Bug Workaround

This quest has a minor bug. If you hit Overlord Mok too hard he may not become "scared" and run away. Instead, his health will reduce to 1 and he'll never die. If this happens, you'll have to drop aggro or run away to get out of combat (or kite him to Orgimmar for a good laugh). If you are a high-level player trying to finish this quest, try killing him with white-damage only such as bare fists or wands. If you kill him slowly enough then it should work.

Obligatory hunter strategy post: did solo as a 46 BM hunter with a gorilla.

Sent in the ape, HM (have the glyph), Serpent Sting, then kept autoshot going, with an occasional Arcane Shot when not on CD. One Mend Pet (have glyph for that, too), till he ran off.

I hated this guy when I was a druid and priest, but hardly broke a sweat with a hunter.

I did this as a level 43 Frost mage and only got hit once.

As soon as he attacked, I used Frost Nova and Blinked away. Started hitting him with Frostbolt and by they time he reached me Frost Nova was ready. Another Nova + Blink to get back at range and I cast Blizzard...twice! I'm so glad I put that one point into Improved Blizzard.

42 Mostly Green/Heirloom Prot Spec
1 Attempt, accidental quest start, at 72% life

Had no problems opened with shield wall (mostly because I didnt mean to start the quest, good strategy though), rotated to block followed by last stand. He hits like a truck but so does a warrior. Just cycle CDs one at a time, he had me down to 40% when he ran away, no pots and not that difficult. Same goes for fury and arms, just use your shield wall based CD at an opportune time and this should be easy.

Easily soloed as a 45 Ret Paladin. Simply casting Judgement of light/Exorcism, then healing myself when I'm at about 50%, and he went down like nothing. Only annoying part is the stun, but it doesn't last long enough for him to kill you if you have at least 50-60% health.

Solo'd as a 42 Destruction specced warlock. Was VERY close. I tried the trick, with my VW out, didn't want my VW tanking so I left it on passive and merely used it for the shield, which came in very handy. So I started back by the box you jump over, I Corruption/Curse of Agony/Immolated him and started jumping over the box, firing off Shadowbolts when I could. However, at about 60% he reset, so I thought, hmm, i'm dead.

I stopped kiting him, and waited for him to get around, feared, refreshed DoTs, next problem, OOM. Lifetapped which I thought would be suicide, but had no other choice, and popped the shield. He came running back at me at about 60% again, since I shadowbolted once or twice, tried for a deathcoil, missed, potted. OOM again, more lifetap, Feared, spammed shadowbolt for dear life along with Immolates and Conflags, as he got back to me on about 40%, the shield dropped. Hit me for a clean 400, 500 hp left, two lucky Shadowbolt crits later, I was thinking i'm dead, as he ran away like he should do leaving me on 200 ish hp with no pots left, or shield. :<

Accidentally bugged him out after blasting him too fast on my 80 and was delighted to discover that at that pesky 1hp you can level your weapon skill on him. Hello all weapons at 400. He does do decent damage for a mob is level, so check back in every couple of minutes and bandage/heal if you need it.

Solo'd him as a level 44 shadow priest. No fancy kiting, started the fight in melee range and finished it there. By the end my mana reserves were pretty much empty, but my potions were off cooldown the whole fight. Popped 1 flash heal when things looked a little precarious, but probably didn't really need to.

Surprised by how smoothly it went. Fairly easy solo.

Soloed this as a level 44 combat specced Orc rogue. Stealthed as soon as I accepted the quest, hit him with cheap shot, and then popped Adrenaline Rush, Blade Flurry, and Blood Fury(Orc racial). After that I built up 5 combo points and used Rupture and then another 5 combo points and used kidney shot. Then I just hit Sinister Strike a few times to finish him off.

Solo'd as a 40 Hunter, pretty simple for a hunter with the new changes to cower; just keep mend pet up and cower every cooldown. FD to ensure your pet keeps aggro as there will likely be a lot of resists on growl. Just keep pushing damage on him; if you need mana turn on viper aspect.

I just activated Ivy Veins and burned him to the ground. I didnt need to use my Lifeblood nor any of my lvl 35 healing potions. Very easy fight. Give it a shot.

A story about this quest, and the fun of kiting him to Org. :)

Doing Loremaster, I did this quest, killed him too fast, and got the bug. Well, I thought of this as the perfect chance to troll Orgrimmar, and I started kiting him to Org!

As a shadow priest, it took me about 90 minutes, and it was awesome when I got there. Everyone and their dog was attacking him, he was running everywhere, targeting everyone. Well after a very long fight over aggro, the group of people attacking him managed to kite him to Thrall. Thrall didn't do a damn thing, just stood there watching everyone in Org attack a simple ogre. So, everyone attacked for their weapon skill achievements.

Well, it seemed to be at the perfect time, because a group of Alliance doing For the Alliance was heading to Thralls chamber! At the time they arrived in Org, Mok'Morokk had been there for about an hour. Well, I'm sure you could imagine the Alliances face when they saw everybody in Org, low levels, 80s, all crowded around an ogre with 1 health. Everyone ran in, and as you can expect, got raped to death. It was great, the Alliance attacked just at the right time. There were bodies all around, most of them still not released, as they were watching just what the hell was going on. Our server is very Alliance populated, and For the Alliance raids are very common, and most of them are succesfull, but this raid was absolutely fantastic. Well, the ogre just stayed there, everyone still attacking him.

Another hour passed, and people were still there wailing on him. Numerous Knuckle Sandwich achievements went off, and people started getting bored of him. I Mind Controlled him to mess with people, but when the MC ended, he despawned. :(

About 30 mins. later, an Alliance raid attacked Org and killed Thrall. There was no ogre to protect Thrall this time!

Just thought I'd share this little story, as I was rolling on the floor laughing the whole time. Have a nice day! :)

Soloed just now as 41 Retribution Paladin with few points in Protection. Went into defensive mode (Seal of Light + Blessing of Wisdom + Judgement of Light and 1H+shield) and it worked, just had to heal quite frequently because I got crushing blows especially when stunned which reduced my life quite considerably and fast. At around 40% he got "scared" and started running away.

At level 45 my hunter readily defeats elites up to level 46. Which is weird because my shaman and warrior struggle against elites three levels below them. I took my hunter for a pleasant stomp through the elites in southern Dustwallow, and by the time I got back I was pretty cocky. Well Mok'Morokk humbled me.

This dude is NOT your typical level 45 elite! He has the health of a small village. And he whacks extremely hard. My pet was getting crushed even though I was constantly healing it, so I turned off his growl. Mok'Morokk turned on me, hit me TWICE and I dropped to 20% health ! Feign death...

So I failed the quest, revived my pet, buffed up and tried again. I intended to hit him with slowdowns and just run whilst my pet chomped away. I used to employ this tactic to consistently beat mobs 6-7 levels above me. Well it didn't work with Morokk, he just hits too damn hard. And I died just as I was clicking the fake death button. I hadn't even whittled Morokk down to 50%. I checked the combat log in disbelief and sure enough me and my pet were dealing plenty-o-damage... I'm guessing Morokk has over 10,000 hit points... which is just freakish. I plan to try again at level 48...

This guy easily qualifies as a boss.

As for Cr4zyOn3's comments.... you double teamed the guy. There's no comparison. Not only that you let a total stranger 7 levels above you do all the work... which hardly qualifies you to comment meaningfully on the difficulty of this quest.

Did this quest as lvl 46 mage..
To all mages out there, he is really hard but you can do it too, the important thing is timing.. This guy couldn't hit me once :P Use frostbolt, and scorch him, when frostbolt effect is over and he comes near you use Cone fo Cold and blink.. Then when cone of cold effect is about to finish, time to use nova and frostbolt again.. Same things.. I had iceblock and coldsnap ready but used none..
I used mana agate, and also needed to use Evocation (do it just after nova'ing him)..
Btw to my above poster: Yes he despawns at around %27 saying "Me scared and Me go now".. so you don't kill him. Just get him to %25 hp... No timers.. Quest gets completed.

Important bit
Lvl48 rogue.

I've solo'd every elite quest upto know,even the supposedly 'hard' ones.And a 1 Vs 1 encounter is usually a walk in the park as you just stun lock them to death.But this really was HARD!

The 3 main factors are his insane amount of HP.For melee people,his very high armour level.And the fact he hits hard.about 350 Dam normal,and 700 crit.Even though i dodged most of his attacks on my 3rd attempt,damage like that saps your HP away really quick.
Oh and he also has a stun which he use's regularly.

This is the only real hard elite quest i've ever found in azeroth,that is hard for most class's to solo and to be honest for how hard it is i would at least expect a blue,or even a really good green,but the rewards are totally rubish.The only good thing i found about them was they both vendor for around 1.5g and that's all their good for!

quick run down of how bad it went
First time i tried this was a complete failure.I stealth after accepting the quest and he saw straight through it.I carried on as best i could and vanished as it was going bad.

Second time i tried i was bit more prepared as i knew he could see through my stealth.
Accepted quest,stealthed,used prepartion,Cheapshot,backstab,hemo,gouge,BS,gouge,BS,kidney shot,gouge,BS.All was going well apart from after about 30sec i'd only took about 20% of his health off,so i bugged out,and came to check here.

Read all about how hard it was on here,but decide as i knew a bit more and was properly prepared with a plan i could take him.I'd walked all over 'hard' elites before.

So third try.ate a +12stam food buff,pulled out my defilers talisman and some stone staues and was ready to go.
Accept quest,stealthed...well to cut a long story short i blew every CD i had,defilers talisman,heath potion,blind and bandage,double evasion using preparation.And i got my ass totally owned.

I managed to take about 35% of his health of him and only had about 10% of mine left and was just about to vanish and give up when a really nice 48druid and 46warlock flew in a helped me out.

Even though i'd kicked his ass a fair bit already it still took us another minute or so to get him down to the 25% to finish the quest.

Summary
Unless their are some nice people in the camp at the time,i wouldn't even bother trying this quest.The rewards are rubbish.And the only chance you could have of soloing it,unless your a OP lock :) is when your so high level the quest won't even be green.

If you really want the 4.5k xp that bad,go kill some of the mobs outside the camp!

P.S. if he disappears he takes 8 minutes to pop,i counted it as i helped the people who helped me,so wated for him to repop

Solo'd as a 44 feral druid. I started in bear form which reduced his hits to about 200. Healed when necessary.

Once I was low on mp, I rooted him, then jumped behind the wagon behind Krog. Overlord would go the long way around to catch me. I would jump back and forth over the wagon dotting and rooting. Overlord spent all his time running circles to catch me.

Go back to bear form and melee if your bored. Eventually he gave up ^^.

I think you could beat him at 40 with this strat.

I managed to solo this as a lvl 45 combat rogue. It is a rather slow process but it is possible with some luck.

-Equip crippling
-Kidney Shot and gouge is only way for you to survive
-Expect to fight over 5 minutes, enabling you to use all your cooldowns a second time to take him.

Basically what I did was enter stealth quickly and open with cheap shot.. adrenaline rush... dps kidney shot.... when that is out, evasion... dps until its nearing its end, then use gouge and run like hell. Get enough range to ensure gouge is back, then gouge again. Keep doing this until you have five combo points, then use kideny shot. Repeat this for a long time, and be prepared to use pots and bandages, or blind to buy time.

He stops fighting at around 10-15% hp and runs out of the camp, and you get a (Mission Complete) message.

I wouldn't say this was easy, as Mok did roughly 150 to 330 damage every hit. Mind you, he was slow, and what I did was:

1) Laid down a Mana Spring Totem + Stoneskin Totem, had Windfury 2 on my weapon, and Lightning Shield up.
2) Challenged him, and didn't have time to cast Lightning Bolt, so I immediately cast Earth Shock on him, and Earth Shock whenever I can. I also dropped a Searing Totem.
3) I continued to whack him with my weapon, and roughly 30% through his HP, I had only 40% HP left myself, so I drank a Greater Healing Potion.
4) When I finally got him down to about 50% HP, I Lesser Healed myself twice, and again when I got him down to almost 70%, I did Healing Wave on myself.
5) This was when he turned green and ran away, and I leveled to 43 after handing the the quest in.

At 42, I had about 40% damage reduction from my armour, about 1800 HP, and 3200 MP. My focus stats were Int, then Stam, and then Spirit.

If at any point you feel you're going to run out of mana, remember to drop a Mana Tide Totem. For me, it regenerates about 800 MP.

Solod this just now with a Lvl 42 aff lock. Was easy, didnt heal, didnt restore mana. Just keep out imp and continually Fear + Corruption + CoA... he only hit me once, right at the start of the combat, for the rest he was running in fear... Should be an easy fight for a lock

Now then, I solo'd this lvl 46 shadow priest, DoTs and fear easy felt like 30secs...maybe a bit more

I tried to solo him at first as a level 41 Shadow Priest (I was just leveling a lock. I got cocky). After OOMing and running away, I looked him up, and read something about him pathing around a wagon.

BRILLIANT.

I found said wagon, hit him with Shadow Word: Pain and Devouring Plague.

And proceeded to skip merrily over the wagon while watching him run around it and sloooowly die.

Got stuck a few times and had to fear him, but besides that, it went off without a hitch.

Here's a screeny of right after I killed him, I didnt think to do it while I was killing him =/

Just beat easily as a 42 enhancement shaman. Any class should be able to do this at around level 42 (except maybe a paladin), but it might take a really long time for some.

The trick is to jump over the wagon behind krog like others have said. He runs the long way around to get to you. When he's just about to get to you, jump over it again the other way to make him start the hike back. During this you hit him with whatever ranged damage you have. Warriors and Rogues, I hope you have your bow/gun skill practiced up :)

Even a pally that can't really do ranged damage can take advantage of making him run around to get a break between attacks to regen mana and heal before laying into him 1v1 some more.

Easy as sh*t for a lvl 44 aff warlock. I took 300 damage from the crit I took before VW's taunt got off. Deathcoiled and then feared once. He gave up before I could get a second fear off. Tank and spank imo.

Did this as a lvl 42 frost mage pretty simple, here is the routine:

1. Put up Ice Barrier
2. Accept quest
3. Wait for him to agro
4. Cone of Cold
5. Frost Nova
6. Blink
7. Frostbolt until he reaches you
8. Cone of Cold
9. Repeat steps 5 thru 8 as needed

You may have to Cold Snap or reaply Ice Barrier.

Solo'd as level 43 hunter. I let pet take aggro while I healed him. Shot Overlord in the back until with stings and arcane shots, he turned on me. Dropped a fire trap, went beserk, triped him, stepped back to arcane and sting him once more and feigned death. Got right back up and healed (bandage). Healed pet while I waited for feigned death to cool (just in case). Started shooting him with all I got again. Pet died, he turned, I dropped another fire trap, beserked, tripped him, arcaned him, stung him. Then he ran off whimpering with 1/2 his health left. I chased him with Cheetah and tried to keep shooting him but he was invalid. Fun battle. I would like to try him again.

used the succubus bc the vw torment not high enough lvl to attract a 45 elite

just feared and dotted him a few times and did end up using a bandage and healthstone

you only have to get him down to about 25% health before he runs away, which is the point of the quest

45 Rogue.

There was no-one around to help when I did it, so buffed up with +12 stam first & approached with caution. As I've got engineering I accepted the quest & immediately hit him with the goblin bomb dispenser, which didn't do as much damage as I'd hoped, but doesn't stop you using solid dynamite afterwards.

My health was going down twice as fast as his, so near the warning hit him with blind, which gave me time to apply a heavy runecloth bandage & left a major healing pot in reserve. (You have to watch your cooldowns as you may not have time to use the same thing twice). Health going down twice as fast again, applied the pot at the warning, & luckily he chickened out before I did!

A hard character. Would be easier with help, if there's any around!

Lol i came into this place a little late so i facd him at lvl 48:O and it was pretty great because first thing i did was instant cats froze him blinked away pyroblasted him instacast again and ran around for a bit while my firse affct were hitting around 200 every 3 seconds :)

I Did it as a lvl 43 demonology warlock with the voidwalker and without pots, Just used curse of agony, corruption and immolate then shadow bolt and searing pain, didnt need to fear him at all, hope that helps.

Instant poison on MH, deadly poison on OH

Although he see's through your stealth at the start, I still had time to get in a cheap shot, then SS and hit slice & dice (3 cp gave me 18s)

Then it was a case of spamming SS to 5cp and then Rupture.

Had to use 1 greater health pot, and hit evade once.

I solo-ed this as a 42 Blood Elf Hunter (Beast Mastery/Marksmanship), about an hour ago actually.

For anyone who would like the strategy:

Set a Frost Trap (NOT a Freezing Trap) at the big guy's feet, accept the quest, back up to maximum range. Have your pet on him while you do this, and begin healing him even before he's hit (because he WILL be hit, and hard).

Begin pelting him with arrows, trying to avoid any damage-increasing arrow skills (so your pet can collect a little more aggro; every bit counts in this battle). After a little chunk has disappeared from his HP bar, hit him with Scorpid Sting, to help your pet out a bit. Then give him all you got. Aimed, Arcane, Multi, Volley, I mean everything you have that causes damage. He will most likely come after you at this point, and about 15 seconds will have passed. He's already slow, being that he's an Ogre, but he will be even slower on the trap he just set off. Go in a circle around the trap radius (this is important, to ASSURE that he will never regain his speed). Eventually, he'll catch up to you and start beating the crap out of you. Wing Clip him, then run back, Concussive Shot, then move farther back, and continue pelting him with whatever damage skill you have charged. By this time, and thank god, your traps should be recharged. Hit another Frost Trap and then (hopefully you are BM) use Intimidate, to get the aggro back on your pet. Repeat everything you did, to the tee.

Suck a potion when need be, but wait til you're low so it counts.

Stop using your skills though, as you will need them. You have collected so much aggro, that normal arrow shots will piss him off. He will run after you again. So use the mana you just saved up on another Concussive Shot. Keep him in the Frost radius so he will be at a snail's pace, and by the time he recovers, Concussive Shot will be charged again.

Eventually his health will reach about 25-30%, and he will run away. You have completed this quest. Enjoy your @#$%ty reward.

I did this with one bar of mana (I have around 1800, and my dumbass forgot to bring a mana potion), and only ran out near the end.

Don't be intimidated with how much health he has. Just remember, almost a third of it doesn't really exist.

Also, if you're near my level, and he is on your ass, don't bother feigning death. He'll kill you anyway.

All in all, this took me about a minute and a half, but it felt like a five minute fight.

Hope I helped someone, or helped someone form their own formula.

Soloable in youre 40's if you're a warlock or mage. If you can't kite him, you need at least one other to help you.

Tried today as a 44 Shadowpriest and got melted. Just coulnd't keep him away long enough to kite him, and if you run out of the village he resets....and he hits HARD.

First off, make a macro because every second counts if you are going to attempt a 45 elite when you are level 41.

I did not have any epics or twink items, but i always make sure to have items current to my level and GOOD WEAPONS.

Here's your order

1. Pop your macro
2. Dismantle him (very important)
3. Build 5 points and Expose Armor
4. Pop Thistle Tea
5. Build 5 points and Kidney Shot
6. Get behind him and build your points then Eviscerate.
7. Watch him run

Notes : You might not get it the first time without a Pot, and you may need to Vanish if you just get @#$%ty luck and miss alot.

Didnt get to use any stealth moves but first used blood fury and evasion
attacked and every time energy made it to 45 used sinister strike....
at 5 combo points used eviscerate
after evasion ran out used ghostly strike
had 800 health once he ran away... but i probably wouldve died if he didnt

This guy is in serious need of nerfing.

Against all the advice here, I tried soloing it when I was somewhere around 45 or 46 (I forget exactly). I'm a marksman spec hunter, so I tried doing what we're good at & kiting him out of town, but he'd just run back at the gates (quite possibly I hadn't managed to inflict enough damage on him by the time I got that far).

At 52 I came back and redid the quest, just for revenge. I'd taken down a level 55 elite less than two hours prior and frankly that was only very marginally more difficult. If it wasn't for the fact that Mok runs away at about one third health, I'm not positive I could've completely taken him out (probably could have, but.... - my tank bear was on its last legs when he ran, I was virtually out of mana & the village confines are just marginally too confined/cluttered to be comfortable kiting territory).

One suggestion for the classes who're reliant on distance & a pet to maintain it - use an aggro manager (i.e. KLHThreatMeter) and try and pass off aggro between yourself and your pet so that Mok is regularly swapping his focus between you & the pet.

Spreading the damage around maximises the total HP damage he needs to do to take you down & also gives you a little extra time while he's running between the two so you can use bandages as well as pots. Also, for the hunters, a well timed Freezing trap will let you use a bandage on both yourself and your pet rather than having to blow through even more mana to keep it alive.

Mind you, unless you're in the higher 40's that probably still won't be enough for a character that needs distance to be effective - he stays alive so long & hits so hard that one slip-up can easily prove fatal.

I soloed this as a lvl47 warrior. Not too hard in defensive stance with shield block going. But twice I had it screwed up by some well-meaning but ultimately most unhelpful person step in to help "slay" him. I had him as he was about to run off and they'd blast him and take his health down to almost nothing so the quest failed. I know they were only trying to help, but they wound up screwing it up.

So folks, if you see a fellow "in need" on this one, ask before you attack. They may have it all under control. Otherwise you risk blowing it for them.

And yes - it's pretty hard.
He does enormous damage und has tons of hp.
But at least i was able to keep him in fear lock, so my Dots could slowly kill him.

Okay, so a fellow guildie totally tipped me on how to take care of this guy, and now I can apply this to other elites and even PVP.

I did as lvl 45 frostmage.

Set your frost bolt and frost nova to rank 1, so they are super cheap mana and the frostbolt is half as long to cast.

Accept the quest, and then...

frost bolt, fireblast, frost nova, get distance, fireball, frost bolt, fireblast, run around til you can frost nova again, fireball, frost bolt, fireblast, run around til you can frost nova, rinse, repeat.
Somewhere in there you will use evocation. You can usually get another fireblast in here or there as well.

Have a couple healing and mana potions just in case.

Stay in the camp, and actually stay away from the entrance near the windmaster. He quit on me an I failed the quest once when I didn't even leave the camp, I just got a little too close to where the Bowyer was. i was like WTF?

I soloed him with my 46 rogue. Be honest, I think I was dying with only 24hp left when he yelled and ran away in fear when I got his hp down to 24% and complete the quest.

Since you direct confront with him, so no way to get a good start, just evasion, direct confront with him and keep use the first set of combo point to lower his armour.

Then use the tea to restore my energy, I used one greater potion to restore life as my rogue is not strong enough for direct melee. I agree that he is tough and hard to beat, also he hit hard pretty bad for the reward.

Very annoying if you're a higher level and doing old quests. If you take him from 50% to 1 hp (can't kill him) he will never run off. If you try and reset through invisibility / vanish he despawns. I let him eat through my mana shield for ~5 minutes while reading this page. Ended up sheeping him, and wanding him down.

Solod as lvl 46 Tauren Hunter, BM spec.

Put pet on mend, set to attack and then use serpent and arcane shot. When pet's hp hits critical put down a frost trap, use distracting shot to get him moving your way and then when he's in frost coma heal your pet to full, get your mana up and then nuke on.
Remember, you don't have to kill him, just get his HP below 50% or so.

Easily soloable at mid 40s levels if you know how to kite.

Just make sure when he gets around 30% that he is in or very near the village, because if he's far from home he'll bug out, reset, and you'll fail the quest.

I could never find a group for this quest so I tried to solo it, which I soon found out to be almost impossible for a paladin. He kills you in 5-6 blows, even if you wear plate.

The last time I tried I was level 51 and the quest was grey. I healed myself four times and got his HP down to below 30 %, but he still didn't run away. I tried again directly afterwards, but then I didn't have access to Lay on Hands and failed again.

The only way to solo this guy is to never let him come close to you. Which is impossible if you are a paladin since you don't have any ranged attack.

You can start with death coil... best to start the fight by running away from him and fearing... THEN dotting(death coil is not needed, i did not use it... no bandages, not pots.. no consumables)

Use imp with dark pact, imp's mana regen > succy, so you will have infinite mana... i was fighting with >80% through out the fight, COA, Corruption, Immolate, Siphon life, DP some mana when u have nothing better to do, life drain

He has alot of HP, took about 10+ fears before he ran off.

You do not need pots/soulstone/health stone. Too easy a fight if you've been fear kite grinding + drain tanking 2 mobs (double mobbing)...

halfway soloed this on my 44 shadow priest, since a warlock planted some dots on him, (i guess to help me out) though i could have soloed easy.

Definitely try the quest when you get it, you'll be surprised when you beat him. And if you think your going to die, just run to the outskirts of town and he'll lose agro.

A ton easier than when I remember (from pre-burning Crusade)

I just finished this (strange, just after killing Mokk the Savage!) with my 44 lock; here's my experience.

I started out by following the pattern others have mentioned here - I use dark pact, so I had the imp out, not a void. Damn if he didn't resist my fears - Death Coil and the normal fear - and whacked me dead in nothing flat.

My second time - glad to see the graveyard's right next door - I got out the felhunter. ASAP I sent the fel at Mok, and before you know it Mok wasn't hitting nearly as hard. I gave him lots of DoTs, and fear did work this time, thankfully, as the bastard has a ton of health, and since I didn't have my mana tank out (imp), I was a bit limited - I did use a pot.

I think I'd've done better with the imp, except for the fact that he resisted the fears; had that not happened I'd've used a lot more mana and drained him much more quickly.

Oh, and in case you're questioning the usefulness of the felhunter - because of the tainted blood (5x on Mok), the fel never got below 60% even when Mok was whacking him, and he certainly hit less hard when my fear failed once.

Easily done as a 43 lock with Dark Pact. Keep your succubus out as a back up way to handle him if you run too low on mana and don't have a potion so she can charm him when the DoTs run out. Otherwise, just keep him fear locked, use dark pact when needed and keep your DoTs on him constantly. I did however request assistance from a 38 hunter, but in truth the help was minimal due to the level, so any lock I can guarantee can beat him at 43 with fear.

I had just killed Brimgore while doing another quest and figured, hey it's just another 45 elite, should be no problem. He hits for 300+ and crits over 600, so if you can't stay away from him, forget it. Killed me and my 45 cat before we could take out a quarter of his health. :(

The prereq listed is wrong. It should be the Onyxia's Eggs quest.

I have to agree with nuttella, this isn't solo'able if your 40's.

As a 49 hunter with a 48 pet I couldn't solo it, nor could a warlock before me that I helped before he was killed.
This guy will kill you within just a few blows.
Thankfully after failing it the guy returned a few minutes later and a lvl 70 helped me. Obviously got him with ease thanks to him, gona have to be two of you atleast in your 40's if you want to take him.

.. and yeah.. keep him off you x] freeze him, send pets/minions, just keep him off.

Solo'd just now as a 46 MArks spec'd hunter - other than a brief moment when I pulled agro from my pet (wolf, 4k armor) and got hit a couple of times, I wasnt really too woried. Pet never got below 800 life (has 2400) and I only used a health pot after I FD'd just in case I pulled agro again.. which I didnt do.

Done as a 42 Feral Druid, wasn't a cake walk, but wasn't hard. Bash then heal when you get low on health. Warstomp, root, back up and heal if you need to. I stayed in Dire Bear while fighting him. Done on first try.

Did quest solo as a 43 warlock, he seemed impossible the first time since he killed me in three hits, but the next time I just kept fear up and just kept casting agony, corruption, and immolate as they ran out while he was running. It took a while, but eventually he died without hitting me once.

Well, that was fun lol
dont try this as a 42 BE rouge, even had a 53 rouge with me wich didnt work. ALOT harder then a reg 45 elite in an instance. So he jumped onto his 70 rouge and we still had a hard time but no one died.

Heres some tips if ur a rouge

Use Expose Armor as much as u can

Potion when ur health gets down to about 20%

and dont worry about needing to kill him just get it down to 24%

I just solod this with my 44 druid . All I did was used entangleing roots and backed up . Soon as he broke free I rooted him again and backed up . Took awhile but it got the job done . I was able to trough a few moonfires in here and there too but still kept my finger on roots .

Backed off - sent a frostbolt (level 1) - then a fireball.

Then frost nova'd him - ran off - frost bolt, fireball, fireblast

then ran around. Turned to him and blinked past him. Then when frost nova was up - I stuck him again.

Frostbolt - fireball - fireblast.

continue. I would turn around and fireblast him again because it was up before frost nova was.

He ran off at around 38%

Easy as pie.

This guy does NOT hit like a level 45 elite, more like a level 55-60 elite. Very hard to solo if you can't chain fear/root him. He was hitting me upwards of 400 from his regular attack (crits for 800ish at highest), and he attacks fast.

Did this quest today as a 44 warlock.
Found it extreem easy, didnt even loose any health, for me
it was a very fun quest.

Fear and keep dots on repeat this, when i was bored i drain life.
He didnt even got the change to hit me lol!

Suddenly he ran out of the camp at 30% life, i followed him, and
he get full life back but he kept running away, i couldnt attack him anymore.
I got the message in my screen:
"Overlord Mok'Morokk decided to leave the camp".

I decided to go back to the camp and the quest was complete :)

Soloed with 42 aff/demon lock. Felhunter, feared, and DoTed. Have a healthstone ready, and maybe a good health pot. He hit me several times, was down to ~25% health, so I just drained and siphoned life. I probably could have used any minion.

Soloed as BM hunter. Growl autocast off, distracting shot on CD, occasional sting, kite around the middle area as he resets if you get too close to gates. Took about 2-3 minutes. Towards the end you can start using arcane shot to finish him off.

Guy still hits like an utter truck. Through Demon Armour he was crushing my 42 Afflock for 550-600. Absolutely no way to draintank through it. Had to pull out the imp for a mana battery via Dark Pact and keep him fear locked. Fight ends around 30% or so, he looks like he resets and then yells about giving up, runs away, and you get the completion. Didn't have to use any potions or a healthstone, but he's easily got 10k HP, closer to 12k probably.

I had serious trouble as a 49 shadow priest, luckily someone was in town and threw some heals and a little extra DPS my way or I would have been looking for a group. I was getting hit for 630 crit and 364+ normal hits with inner fire up (~1420 armor).

Soloed as lvl 40 hunter with lvl 39 pet. It took 12 minutes, he has about 14k hp and you only need to do 10k to complete the quest.

Kite him out the east entrance of the village, take a left and kite around the wall until you get to the other entrance and repeat. If he runs over the campfire in middle it slows him a little too.

With a 2.4 speed bow and 36% speed cheetah i managed to fit 3 auto shots between every concussive, if concussive misses just keep running. Keep your pet attacking him, my pet only did around 3-8 damage per hit but still had 2.2k total damage. If he does catch you, you can use feign or intimidation but then your pet will die, making it longer. When your mana is low, only use concussive shot and auto shot.

Keep track beasts on and pay attention to the location of the crocolisks, you can aggro them if you go too far away from the wall which will slow you.

If you are higher level it should be a lot faster, good luck.

Small correction, I got 3900XP from completing the quest on classic.
Pulled it off as a 51 mage. Guy hits hard, kited him around a bunch and got him from the second try. Rank 1 Frost Nova is your friend.

Soloed as 46 frost mage with pretty bad gear, but was literally on my last frostbolt. Just frost nova, CoC, Evocation mid fight. Don't get close, he hit even thru shield. Had to do 10.4k damage before the run away.

To anyone doing this quest, if you can use wands, save the wand. It's one of the fastest frost-damage wands in the game, which is very useful for Viscidus in AQ40.

Soloed as an enchancement shaman (any shaman spec will work).
There are some carts in the camp ... keep down earthbind totem and let searing totem slowly kill him while you kite him around the cart for a few minutes.
Keep mana for emergency frost shock.

Soloed as a 44 ret paladin. Seal of Wisdom to keep your mana up and use Hammer of Justice and Repentance as heal opportunities with Blessing of Light. Have mana potion handy in case you need it.

If you DPS too hard when overlevelled he will go to 0% but the quest will not complete and he will attack you indefinitely. Will have to range a reset him and wait out the respawn time. Unless you need to level weapon skills and can take his dmg output then take it slow when DPSing :)

This is soloable by any class. You can cheese his pathing by jumping through the boxes between Krog and Zulrg. Jump back and forth and use your ranged weapon/spells.

Just jump over the wooden peg/stake at the end of the chain. Rinse and repeat.

Fellow Druid, to kill is as follow: root and moonfire, and just kite him by the big wagon, if you run out of mana just do root, till you reach full then repeat. completed lvl 48

SoD phase two. Took a party of four and it was pretty HARD but doable lol also don't try the kiting over boxes thing. Mob started to evade and insta healed....

You can definitely cheese this as a hunter (I was level 41 when I did it)
Simply keep jumping over the cart that's beside Krog (has 2 horns for handles). My method was to set pet growl off, lay down a frost trap and blow all cooldowns at the start. Distract so he doesn't nuke the pet. Then serpent sting him and hop over the handles of the cart. He runs all the way around the boxes etc to try and get to you. Then simply jump back over the handles of the cart. Then he'll come the other way. Keep serpent sting on him and auto shoot him down. Takes absolutely ages though.
Vitally important to note that if you accidentally jump on top of the cart or land in between the 2 handles, he will evade and reset his health bar instantly...
Jumping over the boxes in the middle is easier but ultimately gives you less time before you have to jump back.
