Make sure you hold still while the ember scorpions are casting molten pool! The spell seems to target where you are at the start of the cast, but instead of letting you move out of the pool, moving during the cast seems to cancel the scorpion's cast.

At some point - I was 3/6 done - the lasher disappeared (I don't know if it was killed or what, since I was attacked by a behemoth).

By moving closer to the questgiver, it suddenly reappeared and I could finish the quest.

Nothing works and I can't get the lasher to drink. I even run though the ember pools. Is anyone having these problems. I dropped the quest and picked it up again and same problem. Any advice?

If you are a hunter, simply trap the scorpion. It will continue to cast Ember Pool at you while the Lasher drinks them up, letting you complete this daily with only one Emberspit Scorpion.

That was evil for us pet collectors :( we have to do a months worth of dailies and pay 1500g for that pet

Im doing this daylies with 2 chars, one of them doesnt get ofered this daylie at all.

One of the buggier quests in a patch full of bugs. The scorpion will just randomly cast the ember pool just about anywhere (or right where it should). The lasher will stop following you for no apparent reason so you can't lead it to pools (or sometimes you can). The lasher will also disappear sometimes, if you go back to where you were it will sometimes magically reappear.

To get this quest find an acorn on a dead flame druid in Spire area.

i just did this quest and found out a neat trick as a druid you can hibernate the scorpions and they still spit fire pools!

I don't know what the most obnoxious part of this is: the pools being cast on anyone else nearby regardless of any aggro, or the lasher standing around casting hots on you for 500 instead of hopping in the pools, and then someone else's lasher takes your pool.

Or maybe having this quest almost every day. I think I had Embergris three times this month :(

There's an easy way to do this quest as a hunter or druid, hit (dont dot) and make sure no mobs or anyone nearby, then use trap or hibernate after 5 cast kill the scorpid you'll get last 1 pool.
Other cc doesnt work, poly and hex not working cause mobs constantly moving, sap doesnt work too, cause you have to agro the mob first and cant sap in combat, rept cant be cast at beasts.
Similar low duration cc like Ring or frost and Hungering Cold working even tho it's only 10s
Dont interupt the fireballs, it have the same school as Ember Pools so you just prolong it.

Anyone have this happen? I died while fighting one of the scorpions and when i resurrected, I then had two lashers. Both healed me and both would jump into the ember pools.

I know this is one of 3 possible Lasher dailies, and I can't even count how many times I've completed this one, but it's the only one that is ever available. I've never seen the other 2. Is there something else I need to do to unlock the other 2?

Tip for ranged without another trick, if you ping the scorpion and then move out of range they will cast Ember Pool when they come back into range. Not sure how absolute this is, but it seems to work for me every time granting at least 2 pools per scorpion.

Warlock here. Fear seems to break the cycle of fireballs. I just had a pool cast every time after a fear countdown. Time consuming, but better than patrolling giants.

People are now starting to "ninja" the pools so they don't have to do any work. I saw a few people piggy-backing on everyone that ran buy today. Definitely something that needs fixing.

You can save this quest for last and the Crimson Lasher will happily follow you around healing you while you do your other quests.

The behaviour of the scorpions seems to have changed recently - used to be I would tag one and then go about my business of the other quests and it would stay where it was casting at me from a distance and the lasher would drink up the pools. Today, coming back to the Molten Front after a short break, the scorpion is following close behind me rather than staying at range. It's doing weak melée attacks in between fireballs - nothing major but it means I have to pay a bit more attention to it.

A quick way to get the Lasher to 'drink' the ember pool is to be fighting two scorpions at once. If one puts down a pool and the Lasher starts drinking, he will move immediately to the second one as soon as it's down. Try to make sure they're relatively close to each other however.

If you are a pet class like a Hunter this quest is easily done with a single scorpion.

I misdirect to my pet with a single shot to aggro it. Then I let my pet damage the scorpion to about half life.

At that point put your pet on 'stay' and 'passive' so it doesn't move and it doesn't kill the scorpion. Run around the area finishing the other quests, killing the Elementals, Planting seeds etc.

Every 15s or so the scorpion will cast the ember pool on you. The Emberpool spell will fail if you are to close to the scorpion, you need to be at a distance. Your Lasher will drink from the pool. After the 5th one just kill the scorpion, as the scorpion will spawn a 6th pool when it dies, and your Lasher will complete the quest.

While the scorpion beats on your passive pet don't forget to heal your pet from time to time so it doesn't die.

For all the druids out there: aggro the scorpion and cast Hibernate. He'll still throw out pools while asleep!

Since nobody mentioned it, as a mage you can sheep the scorpion while the lasher drinks the pool then unsheep the scorpion and repeat.

Tho watch your back for Giants !

I'd like you to help me with a little experiment. The Emberspit Scorpions that inhabit the Magma Springs to the north spew out burning pools of fire during combat.
