Currently it is as such (live)
Eternal Ember , Though not showing as boP infact ARE. They can be Master looted IF the threshold is rare or lower. They have only been seen by bosses as of now, not trash. These have nothing to do with primordials and are not purchasable with jp, vp, cp, or hp. You want tier 1 staff? RAID!

Living Ember However, is in some ways similar to the primordials. They also drop from bosses as confirmed in a comment, currently are NOT purchasable on any vendors, are BOE, and used only for crafting.

Keep in mind as far as vendors go nobody has unlocked all of the molten front vendors. It is very possible *(supposition!) that there will be a vp vendor locked away somewhere 2 weeks down the line that will have these for sale. This would allow the truly insane to craft what they want and get it first through spending 8 million gold on ones that drop before anyone else, but then unlock it to the masses a short time after.

If you faction transfer and have no embers yet, you must pick up this quest again even if you were already on it. I don't know how it works if you already have some embers.

Whatever you do, don't go straight into Firelands and or you won't be able to loot them.

They are BoP and the GM-s don't have option to give the ember to someone else if you get it. I wrote a ticket about one misclick and they refused me.

Note that the next raid part in the quest chain requires a fresh reset, since you need to kill Shannox, Alys, Rhyo and Beth.

However, if after clearing you end up at 24/25 embers (10 man) or 22+/25 (25 man), you can kill Baleroc first the following week and still complete stage 1 of the staff in the same reset.

This could save 1 week off the time it takes for your legendary :)

This quest is bugged at the moment, as it is not possible to get close enough to Anachronos to turn it in. I ticketed the issue and got confirmation today from a GM:

I took a look at this and it is definitely on our end. The developers have been made aware and are working on applying a fix as soon as possible.

That said, until the fix is implemented I'm afraid it will continue. My apologies for any frustration this may cause :(.

It will be impossible to continue on this quest line until Blizzard implements a fix of some sort.

My bad, I've abandoned this quest (don't ask) ... now I can't find where to pick it up again!

I recently completed this, and either I am REALLY lucky on the drop rates, or Blizzard changed the 10m drop rate to a 100% chance, because in the last 3 weeks we went 6/7 each week, and I got 6 embers each week, to bring me to my 25 after this weeks raids.

I still don't have enough time to complete the entire chain before 4.3, but I am glad to have got this far.

I feel I have to spread some advice one of my guildies learned the hard way about race, class and/or faction changing with this quest chain active. If you didn't know, when you pay Blizzard for any of those services they will wipe your quest log as part of the process.

If you choose to go through with those paid services you will have this quest removed from your quest log. Every Brasa Eterna you had collected up to that point will still be in your possession, but you must go and re-accept the quest from Anacronos. Neglecting to re-accept this quest means that if you kill a boss in Firelands you will not have any embers drop. Zero!

So, that's my cautionary tale. I'd recommend against any big account changes like those I listed above while on the collect parts of this quest. I hope this advice saves somebody else the headache.

To clarify:

You need to be on the quest, being on any other stage of your way to your legendary will cause it to reset when faction changing or anything like it.

Or you just do as I did, migg and not knowing that it will reset and then ask a GM very nicely to help you out.
But I ended up with 3 Areias do Tempo, 25 Brasa Eterna AND I was put back on the quest where I was before I migged.

Sold the Areias do Tempo to a mate with a good discount. He was happy.. :D

So... I have all the materials (25 Eternal Embers and 3 Sands of Time) but when I go to turn in the quest, the 'continue' button doesn't work, so no completion for me! ....What's going on?
