Amusingly, Papa Hummel's Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuit will work on the orphan's kite as well as the orphan. =D

Your orphan will say "I've always wanted my very own dragon!" when you start flying the kites, and then "That was fun! Can I keep the kite, please?" when you're done.

I find it ironic that the orphan states that he hasn't saved up the money to purchase a kite yet he rewards you with 16g 54silver.

While I was preparing to upload a screenshot, I noticed something ironic: both your own kite and the orphan's kite count as being your non-combat companions, as does the orphan himself. So while doing this quest, you have 3 companions out all at once.

But though the Orphan doesn't count against the "only one companion pet out at a time" rule during this phase of this quest, it's kind of a shame that the same isn't true elsewhere. I brought my warrior to Winterspring to do one of the They Grown Up So Fast dailies, hoping to get credit towards Daily Chores when I turned it in, but I found that it's not possible to have both the Human Orphan and the Winterspring Cub summoned simultaneously.

[The other day, when some of us were out with the matron, I saw a gnome pushing a cart filled with toys. He had dolls, copper racers, leather balls, and some kites. I've always wanted to get a dragon kite and the matron said that if I saved all my money I could buy one, but that's going to be a long time.

I think the gnome's name was Craggle Wobbletop or something like that. If we can find him, could we get some kites and fly them together? I saw him walking around the canals outside the Trade District.]
