Also rewards the Tiny Flamefly companion pet. Start the chain for Burning Steppes at Thorium point with a breadcrumb quest. Should be 28/40 by the time you get this quest done.

It should be said that to do this quest, you have to do a bunch of other quests that aren't really a direct line. You'll start in an entirely different zone with a breadcrumb quest, then end up in a new hub, do a bunch of quests there and then go to a new hub, and then finally go to this guy. It took me about an hour, I think.

There are several Flameflies south and west of Morgan's Vigil if you head towards Redridge. They hover over the lava pools by the side of the road.

Not Fifty? (For those that don't know, Oralius pre-cat had a quest called "FIFTY, YEP!" which had you getting 50 blackrock orc ears, if I recall correctly.

"Orc is the flavor of the month!

I WILL KILL YOU, WINKY!"

You do not need to be in any other zones. I just started from scratch in Burning Steppes and here are the hubs you need to hit.

Flamestar Post - do all the quests, and in the end it will send you to Chiselgrip
Chiselgrip - Do all the quests in this hub and after Abuse of Power it will send you to Morgan's Vigil
Morgan's Vigil - As soon as you come here the quest is available to pick up from Oralius

Most of the flameflys can be found if you head towards the Redridge Mountain road - they're all over the place(##RESPBREAK##)524##DELIM##thaia##DELIM##

Alliance: This pet can be obtained by completing the quest SEVEN! YUP!. The quest is the end of a chain and the first quest can be obtained at Thorium Point, Searing Gorge. The first quest in the series is called Abuse of Power.

To unlock this chain you must start at John Keeshan in Flamestar Post (17.28, 52.04). Complete all the quests at Flamestar, then run with Keeshan to Chiselgrip. (Keeshan isn't your typical "escort" quest - he runs at your pace and doesn't aggro things willy-nilly.) Finish all the quests in Chiselgrip - most of them open up linearly instead of all being available immediately. Eventually you'll be led to General Thorg'izog, who gives the quest "I am the law and I am the lash". Abuse of Power becomes available during that quest and you then have a short few steps to your flamefly. The entire chain took me a couple of hours at level 80 but was quite entertaining.

An easy place to find this is around the lava at Deadmaul Rock ( North of Morgan's Vigil). I found several in groups of 2 & 3.

Guide to Burning Steppes quests:

Optional breadcrumbs:
Hero's Call: Burning Steppes or Mouton Flamestar

Do anytime before leaving to Chiselgrip:
Done Nothing Wrong

Keeshan is back with either:
Burning Vengeance if you did the Redridge chain or Burning Vengeance if you did not.

These three at once:
Stocking Up
A Future Project
Mud Hunter

Then:
The Sand, the Cider, and the Orb

These two at once: Warlocks Have the Neatest Stuff and Shadow Boxing

Then:
Return to Keeshan
Chiselgrip, the Heart of the Steppes

Enables these quests, which must be completed before General Thor'izog in the main chain:
Prove Yer Allegiance
Scrapped Golems (leads to Golem Training)

Main chain continues:
A Needle in a Hellhole
A Perfect Costume (4 versions) Read the quest carefully. What creature disguise do you need?
---> Orc (given to Humans and Dwarves): 2 Hides, 4 muds, 2 thread
---> Goblin (given to Gnomes): 1 hide, 3 mud, 4 thread
---> Troll (given to Night Elves): 3 Hides, 2 mud, 1 thread
---> Ogre (given to Draenei and Worgen): 4 Hide, 1 Mud, 3 thread

Then:
Into the Black Tooth Hovel
Grunt Work
Look in your quest log -- Strategic Cuts has silently appeared
The Kodocaller's Horn
Taking the Horn for Ourselves
Until Blizzard fixes it, when you turn in this quest, you will get a failed quest sound
with "You don't meet the requirements for that quest". Don't panic.

You must by this time have finished Stebben's quests, listed above.

When you accept the above, look for Abuse of Power in your quest log
