Dont make the same mistake i did and leave the zone before you do this quest, when i came back
the L P A C had gone from my bags and i dint have clue as to what he was taliking about untill i looked on here...................Just a thought.
if u do happen to loose it just abandon and retake quest :-))

I found you had to clear the lesser spirits first. If they attack you while you're fighting with the Furious Specters, it cancels the siphoning effect. Very annoying but easy to deal with. The other thing is that not every siphoning attempt will work, regardless of any other external activity. Just keep grinding and you'll get there.

Yeah, try and avoid the smaller blue ghosts because they tend to come at you from a mile away (not really that far, just exaggerating). And i found that the Large Green Ghosts (furious scepters) don't have to be at 50% EXACTLY.

For this to work you have to let the channeled beam finish before they die.

Currently having problems on this with my shaman. It's like this:
"Ok - the ghost is at 75% HP. Caaaareful now."

LAVA LASH CRIT, FLURRY PROC, WINDFURY PROC AND THE FUKKEN GHOST IS... dead...

f*ck >.<

And just a little later I found this other quest that Sullah had for me. Collecting those little guys. Only possible at ~10k HP left. >.<

Make sure your inventory is not full. You will get no error message saying that your inventory is full and will not receive the quest item. For the longest time I thought the quest was bugged, until I checked my bags. D'oh.

These are the types of quests I hate from Blizzard. You use the item on the npc at full health... doesn't work. So, you use the item after they are dead... doesn't work. Nowhere does it say use when NPC is at 50% health. Pay attention, Blizzard... this is frustrating!

If u have a pet, be sure to set it to "passive" or the mob may die too quickly. As frostmage, i frosed it first, then a Frostbolt, and after that i could use the instrument. Piece of cake!

Get "Furios Spector" (The big of the ghost guys) under 50% And use your item and your done :D
