Attack a Clattering Scorpid, at about 50% health it will start casting Envenom. Drop your totem and when the cast is over you will get credit for 1 sample of venom.

If you're a high level trying to complete this quest simply remove all gear and you should be able to hit the scorpids once without killing them. After you hit it just cancel combat and drop the totem. As an 80 druid I was hitting them for ~ 70% of their health.

As stated before, the Scorpid won't poison you before 50%. The totem needs to be active as the Scorpid completes the cast.

I'd suggest taking off all your gear and only punching the scorpid once, if you too are having trouble with this quest.

This quest is annoying even as a level 6 without heirloom gear. First I was killing thew things to fast, so I started charging in and taking them down to low HP then turning off autoattack. No joy, some of them just don't cast it.

As a level 80 Priest , I went AH and buy a low level wand and it was easy

I just picked this quest up as a Blood Elf... 0.0

Can't seem to do this quest as a lvl 6 troll hunter. I have no pet bar or ability to dismiss the pet until lvl 10, so cannot stop it from killing the scorpion or pulling aggro. I'd have to put it in combat and run away and hope it gets auto dismissed in order to even get this to work, but it kills too damn fast. Ended up dropping the quest and moving on.

The best for this quest it ask to a low player to help u i couldn't do it this thing have 150 hp and i hit 5k >.< i can't low their hp to 35% so ask to a low player to help u : D

I was able to complete this quest as an 85 Warrior using a Cracked Shortbow and hoping I didn't crit.

Not hard at all if ur high lvl, no matter if ur 80 or 85... just farm for an weapon at starting places and use it on them or use a fishing pole like me LOL :)

If ur a high level remove your weapons and slap them around. It totally works! im a 82 =P

Soloing an elite is easier than to do this quest as a lvl 85 >.<

If your a high level...I'm 85 it is simple to do without death or getting all naked. Nobody said what you had to hit the scorpion with! A single blow with your fishing pole and it strikes. Whole quest done in about 2 minutes and didn't have to show off my body to a single scorpion. lol

As a level 85 priest, I took off my staff and used my fists to attack. It was pretty easy to do this quest with this way.

guyz @ lvl 85, kil nearby mobs etc, until u get a low lvl weapon... if ure a caster this is a simple solution, maybe u melee classes cud try engineering bombs or other items etc

Just completed this quest with my level 50 druid, and it seems they've changed the way envenom works: the mob no longer needs to be at 50% health to cast it. I aggroed the scorpid, let it wail on me for about 8-10 secs (without damaging it) and it cast its poison just fine. I dropped the totem before the cast went off, and got credit each time.

One tip: try to fight these scorpids away from Sen'jin Village, as the overzealous lvl 85 guards will aggro and one-shot them before you have a chance to extract the poison.

I confirm that. I did it @85 by standing on my mount, waiting for them to attack me and the dropping the totem as soon as the message appears (so you'll need other reasons to strip in durotar now)

For shamans, the totem will work as an earth totem, so you won't be able to use Totem da Força da Terra.

its fun not turning this one in if your any class other than shaman. then you can place totems everywhere and confuse people:)

I found this easy to do at 85. Simple stand on the scorpions to gain aggro, and never start auto attack. Drop the totem, and they'll cast poison. Once they do, kill em, next scorpion.
