If you have cold weather flyiing , just fly straight down into the center of the tree to the small tree in the center , call you companion and turn in the quest. If you do not have your cold weather flying yet you will have to fight your way in =(
(Just a note:: as of the last patch you can purchase a bind-on-account book at the fly point in Dalaran for 1000 gold that is learnable at level 68)

With a flying mount you don't have to fight anyone. Fly to the tree at about 50, 42, all the way to the bottom. There are no mobs present. You will get the "quest complete" message. Click on the orphan and he will appear with a gold question mark. Click on the question mark and you're done.

I did have the flying ability, but I didn't have to find any small tree inside....all I did was fly into the middle of the tree inside, about the second floor-so to speak -down where there were lots of beds etc. and no fighting nor anything at all to aggro on this floor, called for my orphan and ta da! It was given to me as "complete" Just a thought for those who didn't know about or might not find this little tree spot.

Easiest way to do this is with a flying mount - but if, like me, you're a lvl 71 mage it seems impossible to pass the lvl 75 baddies on the ground. Finally remembered to use invisibility. Once you're in the tree you'll be safe.
