Should be noted that these mechanical scarecrows maintain a few properties that separate them from the general NPC population of Westfall.

First, they have an increased aggro range. Somewhere in the vicinity of 1.5x to 2x the regular radius. This also applies to stealth, while they do not have true sight, the range that they will detect you is increased. They're not called "Watcher"s for nothing.

Rogues should also note that, since they are mechanical, they are immune to Gouge. Sinister Strike spam is your only practical option.

Also to be noted, they appear to be immune to a Voidwalker's "taunt" ability. Not sure if this is true for other classes with a "taunt" (warriors, druids, etc.), but be aware of the possibility.

For Warlocks
Yes, they are immune to WV's Torment. The WV not even cast it when fighting these mobs. You can click on the pet bar to have the WV cast it, only to get the Immune message.
They are also Immune to fear (as for all mechanical type mobs), so they are a bit tricky mobs to fight for Locks.

Let the WV gain some treath for 6-7 seconds, then cast Curse of weakness. It really helps your WV's survivality. Wait again some seconds (even non damaging curses cause treath) then cast Corruption. When your treath catch up the WV's one, Golem should be around 50% health. Cast Curse of Agony and then Shadow Bolt at max range. Even if the Golem will resist some, you should be able to kill it before it hits you, even if they are +3 or even +4 lvl above you. Worked perfectly for me.

Confirmed, these have a very high aggro range. My level 14 warrior could only charge them at around 25 yards, no closer.

Instead of saying at what kind of taunt spells they are immune... maybe some one noticed but they are immune to ALL type of TAUNT so now u know...

The most weirdest is that u can still gain soul shards with Drain Soul on these mobs

I guess robots do have Souls :)

Guess they decided to help out the lower levels some more. These can now be taunted by pets. Tested it out on my hunter and warlock, both were able to taunt the watchers off me.

As of 3.2 or so, various low-level mechanical NPCs can be "mined" by an engineer for parts. I can confirm both that this is true for Harvest Watchers, and that doing so requires an Arclight Spanner (or a Gnomish Army Knife, of course).

This seems to be the bane of all leveling alliance in westfall. Not only is he tied to the Knights of the Ebon blade, he has 169 usable abilities to date. But the tough and couragous warriors will be rewarded because when you loot, it has a chance to drop iLvl 200 gear. It can be mined and skinned at the same time, having a chance to drop crystallized earth AND arctic fur. As of now, this is one of the most camped NPC's in game.

(Note: I know that this is a current WoWhead bug, just poking some fun =D)

after killing about 70 of these and engineering each one... i finally got 1 Flask of Oil... engineers be warned, it's a painful grind for the mat and kiting all together does not work, they left me e after a while... i got a max of 3-4 golems together at a time....

Has anyone actually seen this guy in the Vineyard near North Shire? Ive been there but never seen him. I'd imagine if he popped a bunch of low lvls would get their butts handed to them

These mobs will not take taunts from pets.
As a Warlock, I sent in my pet, added curse of agony and health-funneled him a bit.
Once the Harvest Watcher ticks down to about half health, use shadow bolt to delete it. Rince, repeat.

These things seem to be unusually dangerous. They have slightly high health and damage for their level, are one of the first mobs you'll encounter that are immune to a bunch of different effects, and are usually orange when you first encounter them.
