I've been through all of these. Seeing Deathwing flying around during the Cataclysm was probably the coolest thing to ever happen in WoW.
I remember the opening of The Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. I remember logging in and trying to turn in materials for the massive server wide war effort event and getting booted. It seemed everybody on the server was standing near the gates, waiting. It was an amazing event! Nothing so big and server-wide had ever happened before. And though we were frustrated with the disconnects and insane lag, it was very cool to work together with hundreds of players from across the realm. I'd love to see more universal events like this!
I wandered the world for ages searching for Deathwing flying around in Cata, and never once saw him. Until now I thought that was an idea that never made it into the game. Turns out I just missed out on a really cool "expansion flavor" experience thanks to RNG >.<
Remember when Stood in the fire was going to be a limited time feat of strength that would no longer be obtainable post DS/Cataclysm?
I remember not having a PC to play the game (15, no money) at the time of The Gates of Ahn'Qiraj event. So I went every day on the WoW website, and followed the evolution of the event on many servers. That's how I played WoW back then :P
Whoah, in all my years playing WoW, I never knew there was supposed to be a battleground featuring a battle for old Hellfire Peninsula (now known as Tanaan Jungle). Makes me wonder... Do you guys think they would've still made old hellfire a jungle and called it Tanaan if this bg did come out? No matter what, it would've affected how some things in WoD looked for sure.I only knew of the brewery/MoBA style bg that was scrapped, but hearing about this is pretty cool. I wonder what, if any, maps or left over data can be found of this hellfire battleground.
