The timing for the faction face-off SUCKS. Either - The Alliance HAS to win; it's not "my opinion", it's LOGIC, the Alliance now owns so much goddamn high-tech weaponry it makes the conflict looks like the Horde is Porto Rico attacking the USA, that's how RIDICULOUS it is, with the Alliance owning not only the Vindicaar but ALL THE WEAPONRY the Legion left behind. The imbalance is so huge it's retarded, 75% of the Horde forces DIED IN MOP, there hasn't been even ENOUGH TIME for the races to breed enough people to fight and they only got old goblin tech OR - The Old Gods are mind-controlling EVERYONE in Azeroth. And if they are, THEY ALREADY WON, for crying out loud. Nobody is going to just snap out of it and say "Oh, geez, what have we been doing to ourselves?" if EVERY SINGLE PERSON in each faction is decided to kill the other faction just like Blizzard postulated. Especially considering the previous setting, where the factions FAILED to defend Azeroth and the job was left to the Orders, where in most cases (barring DKs and DHs, who were always first and foremost loyal to their respective classes and never cared for faction hate anyway) the members HAD to break away from their misconceptions and learn to embrace each others as equals. How the hell can people who became brothers in arms turn against each other just because some fail-ass jackasses THEY HAD TO SAVE said so? Ook that, any reasonable person would say. IF we dealt with the old gods FIRST, TOGETHER, and then we were given A REASONABLE EXPLANATION for the Orders to disband, and THERE WAS ENOUGH TIME for the Horde to grow its numbers to become a realistic threat again, THEN we could have an all-out faction war expansion with no doubt whatsoever, that would be fun for everyone. NOW? Now it's plain senseless, BAD writing.
Garrosh tried to touch the void via old gods mods in his body and got raided. Aleria breeds void-elves and no one bats an eye. And whats the use of being void touched if you dont get insane?
So in finale it will be Battle for Azeroth against big evel shoulder to shoulder again.
I'm hoping for some more Old God action this expansion, the hints and set-ups in Legion were so good. Let's have 'm pay off.
Jania did go insane at the start of legion and started to "purge" Dalaran of those she did not like. She and Garrosh are the same, though at least we killed him off. Worst Warchief Ever.
Im still going for a troll. Those areas look sick!
I love the alliance bias in the message board. You all think the horde is evil, when both side have fringe elements that want to see the world burn. Lets not say that horde burned down Teldrassil because we don't really know who did what. But what we do know is the alliance want to kick out the population of Lordaeron the majority of that population I might add. So from my side it looks like the alliance are the aggressors now.
99 tentacles of N'Zoth in the sea, hack one off and pass it around,98 tentacles of N'Zoth in the sea.
... Reading the description of the Void elf made me realise that everytime a faction harness a deadly and corruptive power, writters just HAVE to make another one.Like... "Runic power is the new shadow". "Fel is the new Runic power and here"... "Purple is the new green". FFS Blizzard. Inovate !
incredible, but it would be spectacular that in addition to all these news think that the ancient gods destroy dalaran in the future
TBH I am rather worried about BoA. They have announced MoP as "opposing factions themed" expansion before, and for me MoP is still the weakest expansion of them all.In particular, all other expansions had some epic villian announced from start - Illidan, Arthas, Deathwing, etc. Villians shape the storyline. Even if we investigated some seemingly unrelated events, in the end it turned out to be some part of the big plan of the great villian (like TBC story of red crystal in northwestern HP, turning out to have Kael'has behind it), and every corner of the world had some traces of big villian influence. This glued story together. Now, when we came to Pandaria, we were just told to walk around, smell roses, meditate, drink beer... we, who slew dragons, demons, even gods. Surely, there was a feeling of something being wrong, but we are not philosophers, we are classic fantasy heroes. We fight enemies, and we need some particular point to apply our efforts to.And opposing faction clearly did not work as such point. As a result, Blizzard still had to bring great villian - shared by both factions! And after pointless intermission of building bases in Krasarang, we just threw it all away, joined faction forces together and worked to kill Garrosh. Only from that point MoP started working for me, and first half was like empty and pointless without villians and with just "stay a while and meditate".Besides, I fo not see how this faction storyline can evolve. Storyline must end up with defeating main enemy. How can this be done in faction war? Ending it with two separate raids - Alliance burning Orgrimmar while Horde burn Stormwind? And what will be canon for next expansion to pick story and go on? This might only work if this is last expansion - then yeah, Blizzard can end Warcraft with different endings for different sides. Or maybe either faction winning will just destroy Azeroth and next expansion will start with survivors from both factions trying to settle on a new world... but I doubt any of these will work.So I am not only sure that BoA will similar to MoP eventually turn into "both factions against common enemy" expansion - most probably this enemy being Old God and Azeroth wound issue - but I hope it will happen as fast as possible. MoP has shown "faction war" does not work, and was empty till Blizzard abandoned this idea.Of course, all of this is IMHO... and I will still play BoA in any case :) Even without storyline and with just "grind azerite faction competition" it will still be fun. But with epic villian storyline it would be even better, and so I am worried how it is going to work.
As the biggest Lovecraft nerd on the planet (I have a massive altar to cthulhu in my house, with massive statue busts and idols everywhere and obscure occult tomes littering every bookcase...) I demand sea priest armor, and that they make shadow priests even more lovecraftian in nature!
