Garrosh v2, wonder who will be v3 :p
Why so much negativity? What if Sylvanas wanted to face N'Zoth alone because voids are kinda useless against undeads. And she kept everyone safe by alienating herself? You forgot to mention (or maybe chose not) that Sylvanas is talking about brininging victory for the horde. She might pretend infront of others, but it was Nathanos with her. She doesn't need to lie infront of him and she clearly said she wants to make horde victorious.. I'd say, if you guys are so much eager and forcefully wanted to make her look like Lichking v2, then its fine. But don't think so blizzard is so stupid to keephr goal a mystery only to be predicated by everyone with a common guess "ShE's EvIl HurR DuRr"Oh she is evil, but no your another raid boss, sorry but not sorry.
Oh boy, can't wait for Gallywix to become Warchief in the expansion after the next one.Blizzard were bad enough at telling original stories to begin with, now they're even pilfering their own previous work. What's worse is they're utterly destroying the Horde in the process, turning the likes of Thrall, Saurfang and even Lor'themar into hateable bastards like Baine who care more about the Alliance than their own damn people. And then there's Sylvanas who is just plain stupid-evil.Forcing us to kill Sunreavers for Jaina and Baine regardless of who we sided with was the last straw, I'm not doing it. Not even to 'spy' for that moron we call a Warchief.
Have to say, before she became Warchief Sylvanas was one of my favourite characters but it feels like they really removed any subtlety she had when she got the top job. Disappoints me greatly.
It's important to remember before we get any "We need Sylvanas to fight the Void" tinfoil hats, that the Void has used undead just fine all the time. The Shadowmmon Clan in Warlords of Draenor, the Tidesages, and G'huun all use void magic to raise the dead. Additionally, the Twilight's Hammer has had undead members before, including a prominent member who hand feeds the Old God's favored pet. Furthermore, most Void creatures eat souls as often as they corrupt living creatures, as seen in both Burning Crusade and Warlords of Draenor, and hinted at in the Yogg-Saron whisper, "All places, all things have souls. All souls can be devoured." Additionally, Void Wraiths are created when a soul is corrupted by the Void, outright countering the "muh death can save us" conspiracy. There are literally faceless one mobs in the island expeditions who say things like "Death means nothing to the endless void." Heck, there is even a faction of Forsaken who actively worship the Void and were a big player during Legion.Let's put that Three Sisters comic into context. The Void is constantly whispering to Alleria, sometimes it's positive things, sometimes it's neutral things, sometimes it's things that don't make sense, sometimes it's trying to trick her. Realistically, the void whispers throughout the comic are telling her to kill her loved ones or corrupt them. You can see Alleria's negative reaction to Sylvanas throughout, which reaches a peak when Sylvanas enters her banshee form. The Void was feeding onto Alleria's concerns about her sister, which obviously reached a boiling point when she sees her sister literally transform into a monster. Finally, we've read A Good War. We've read Before the Storm. We've played through almost half of Battle for Azeroth at this point. Her end goal, her only real goal, is to find a way to keep on living, and during the process wipe out anything that might be a threat to her while building up an army between her and dying. She wants to conquer the world and fill it only with LOYAL undead. Even then, her loyalists are thrown away with little if any regard, whether they're soldiers, civilians, or guards. It's actually a pretty standard goal as far as villain characters go. She even says that Hope is a bad thing and will remove any chance of actual peace by any means necessary. I don't know if you guys have noticed, but characters like that tend to not have long life expectancies in this universe.Ignoring the fact we have point of view moments inside Sylvanas' thought process in A Good War and Before the Storm, what does happen if Sylvanas reveals she had a plan to defeat N'Zoth or whatever it is she plans on doing? Why would Elune be trying to stop her? Why would she need to kill her own loyal civilians? Why would she destroy a city filled only with civilians? Everyone is quick to jump on the "Outdated ideas of honor train" while simultaniously forgetting that in the real world, we punish war crimes. Heavily. Does the theme of Battle for Azeroth become "lol, it's okay to slaughter innocent people because only by killing everything can everybody be saved from the tentacle monsters."That seems at odds with every single previous expansion in existence, and more importantly, seems at odds with how her character is developing this current expansion. The developers literally told us "She would think Garrosh was an amateur." N'Zoth literally compels Horde players to bring Sylvanas Xal'atath. All the red flags and warning signs are there, but because of the insane way this community latches onto theories, and desperately look for a way to make Sylvanas come out of this alive, people have purposefully blinded themselves to them."But they said she wouldn't be a raid boss" Yep. They didn't say anything about a cutscene, however.
I still believe that calia will join the alliance and bring an allied race to the alliance.
looks to me that they just got caught reusing the same ol story that they did for Garrosh and got called out for it. Now they are scrambling to correct it in some way. It's going to be interesting to see what they do, looks weak so far. At least the Horde players got some kind of story going on, Alliance is just on stand by until a further expansion i guess.
Always LOVED Sylvanas. All the other leaders were going about their faction war or events for that expansion, but she was always just hiding away doing her own thing - You never really knew her motivations + is she up to something sinister. Since becoming Warchief.... welll... she's just $%^& now, lets be honest. Blizz loved her so much and made her at the forefront and they've ruined her. The best comparison is Captain Jack Sparrow. He seems so interesting and so much of a mystery in the first movie but by the third you're like "no no, he's just some crap bumbling alcoholic". It's the same with Sylvanas. The mystery is gone, She's just a lame pantomime bad-guy without a moustache to twirl. Her story should have ended with Arthas' death.
I predict that this war fuels Sylvanas's endgame even more. She will use the blade to trap some powerful being to be used to master death. Perhaps she will trap Saa'ra, a powerful naaru. This would allow her to combine the powers she has over death with light, both of which are enemies of the void. This could make way for a 3rd faction of undeath that both Horde or Alliance could chose to switch to. This faction could be her endgame, and the perfect counter to N'Zoth and the void lords.
So what, Sylvanas going to snap her fingers? And make half of Azeroth undead and next expansion we have to undo it...
