My guess is we will see the relase end of Q3 2018 as earliest, beginn of Q4 latest, within August to Oktober with a tendency towards August.
i assume they'll be adding more content before pre-patch. most likely the quest lines in order to unlock the sub-races. it only makes sense to allow us to gather the reputation intended to unlock, before the release. of course the xpac would be required in order to obtain the sub-races. at least that's my theory based on past experiences.
I agree! I've been levelling alts quite a bit and I'd love the opportunity to work towards the hidden appearances for as many specs as possible before the expac ends.
I think it will be like September or early October. Definitely not earlier.
Unless Blizzard will finds a way to start the recruiting of some new races before the new expansions launch... I do not see how Blizzard can avoid another content drought...Scaling the world is not a "content" ... without new races to grow, for many players it is not worth it and so for Ulduar Timewalking, if you dont have a guild interested in that. Also, with so many new games available on market, the guilds became empty, the players suspend their account and play other games ...Already now, half of our guild's mate stopped playing WoW and will resume with the opening of the new raid...Btw I believe the new expansion will be launched between the end of August and the end of November

I don't get why Blizzard is already having a Twitter ad campaign for the new expansion.
i hope ~June but that wont happen
Very good article, I like it. But to say that Ulduar Timewalking is 'content update' to keep people busy is wrong. That's the kind of thing a player would do it once and be done with it forever. If the player would even bother with it, that is -- probably just a small fraction of the playerbase would even do it. As it looks so far, there's nothing to do until next xpac, after 7.3.5... hopefuly they come with some actual content - but it'd have to be something very big, to keep players busy for months. Otherwise, same mistakes as past expansions, historically leading to ruining a very good Legion expansion that was until now.
Mists had a faster release cycle in its first year than Legion did, and SoO still lasted a year. There's really no reason to believe Legion will be any different. In fact, the only reason people are pointing out that legion is having a good release cycle is because WoDs was so terrible. Antorus will be another year of dead air. I'll believe otherwise when I see it.
Dropped on "If Patch 7.3.5 were to launch 77 days after Antorus", because 7.3.5 is the antorus.
I think and hope it will launch August/September/October 2018. It is enough time to get some alts up to the point my main is. Pre event should come somewhere July to not get very bored at the end of expansion :)
I have no proof to back it up, as there has been so many news articles post-blizzcon...but...I'm about 99.99% sure that someone from blizz said in an official interview (can't remember if it was posted here on wowhead, or one from mmochamp), that they're not sure on a release date but are aiming for fall/Q4 for release. I personally am quite happy with that, if that's the case. I 37845326946% want to get as many of the hidden/challenge/mythic15+/pvp skins as possible before BFA... as well as finish off all the things like profession quests for my many alts. I can see blizz giving us an extra patch before BFA too, with some extra content to tide us over.
