Very excited to give this a try.
Interesting not account level quest, so you could run it with your alts...
I like it. Maybe someday there will be multiplayer teams for pet battles, but this is an iterative step from celestial tournament. I wonder if there will be challenges other than "no healing/reviving", like "only use flying types". Or capping the number of unique pets you can use. And for other pet battlers, don't take strats as the only way you can beat a fight. If you don't have those pets (or don't like them), try different strats with what you have. You might even find a better, faster, or more fun way to win.
Looks like fun. Pet battles are a great way to burn some time in game. I'm okay with the solo content. Getting a bit tired of the nearly-mandatory PUGs full of Meter Queens and Rageaholics in order to advance to do even the most basic professions. A bit of solo content here? Okay by me.
Its worth noting that while guides often recommend strategies. Those are never the only way to win. they are simply designed to be accessible ( relatively) and consistent strategies for the largest number of people. Even the Celestial tournament guides all have 3-4 options ( and likely options for replacements within those) of viable strategies for each trainer. Guides for wanting specific pets and such were designed to help people create a small, easier to level/collect teams capable of beating the tournament and don't represent anything like the only options. There are plenty of people with hundreds of lvl 25 pets, and if you want to devise your own strategies via trial and error with your specific collection of pets, there absolutely nothing stopping you. But eventually there will be a list of pets that simply handle this sort of thing consistently, and its a safe bet that current meta powerhouses will be on that list, simply because the people who make guides try to reuse pets as often as possible so their guides are accessible. Every guide using a Teroclaw hatchling may seem boring, and suck if you don't have one, but it does make it convenient to level 1 pet and have dozens of strategies prepared for it.
This looks awesome!
Would love to take a team of clockwork gnomes thru gnomeregan (; (actually since most of what I would be fighting would be mechanicals I would probably use a team of sinister squash (they pound the heck out of mechs).
This is just awesome. Looking forward to do this!
I was realy looking forward to this since blizcon, but it looks like as an alliance main this is gonna take longer to get to than to do. :(
Looks good to me! Love pet battles, but didn't like the flavor of the Celestial Tournament was. You had to grind for 4 weeks for each of the remaining 3 pets after the first was a give me.For those looking to do this I'd suggest getting 2-3 of the favorite pets to counter these to level 25 in order to clear. I think during Celestial I had to level another 5+ on top of the 25 you needed just to ensure being able to win without resetting.I'd really like to see some REAL REWARDS as the complexity increases (Like a PURPLE PET maybe?) or something like "No longer available pets from days past" - Blizzcon. Very bummed that those showing now are so *meh* as rewards. Sure the Purple Stone is nice, but is that a weekly reward or one time reward? One time per account or one time per character if it's once only. This mission tied to account wide or can we clear it weekly on ALTS? Still a tad butthurt that Menagerie on WoD turned into a Daily for Account only.
It's account wide. The stone is from normal mode. You get the bag from the challenge mode. Until reset we can't tell if they are both repeatable or only the challenge mode.As mentioned it's not hard if you can counter. The challenge mode is harder because of no heal rather than more difficult pets so doing it on normal will give a good idea of what is needed. For the record I soloed the end boss with a Fetid Waveling both times although it did take increased damages from some attacks so bound to be better option - just happens it is an easy pet to get. (Just used it's dot abilities). Zandalari Raptors are good in general. Ikky is good against thew water pets and Lil'Bling is good for beasts.Skum has a shield ability so swarms abilities are not a good choice for it.
I can't wait for the Pet Battle Raids in 7.5. Gunna fight lil'Ragnaros, lil'Mannoroth, lil'Kil'Jaeden.
First time seeing this. I don't really do the whole battle pets thing anymore but this looks super cool.
This is awesome. I'm so glad to see this being added and that it's solo focused. Also glad that it's not ultra-progression level that requires having done every single bit of previous pet battle content. Too much of the content released in each expansion just sweeps aside lower progressed players like they're unimportant. This feels like a nice compromise. :)I'm also really hoping that they'll add more of the dungeons to this and rotate them! :D
Neat. Not as ludicrous as the Celestial Tournament but it has a "hard mode" that basically behaves like it. Makes the whole experience a lot more approachable while retaining the "skill ceiling" the previous scenario had. Either way, it should be a fun bit of content to do if one gets bored of other stuff.
As a big fan of the Wailing Caverns, I'm really happy to see it getting some use outside of levelling! Pet Battle dungeons are a genius way of recycling old content and giving us a reason to go back to it. <3
I disagree with all the whiners here. This looks like fun!
Can't wait! Compared to WoD pet battles/pet achievements have been really fun and various so far.
